실도로 주행 데이터를 이용한 공회전 정지 시간의 분석 (An Analysis of Idling Stop Time Using Real On-road Driving Data)

  • 본 연구에서는 실도로 주행에 의해 취득된 차량의 운행 데이터의 분석을 통하여 차량의 공회전과 관련된 여러 가지 운행 특성을 도출하였다. 차종별 정차 시간 내역을 분석한 결과, 시내버스의 경우 공회전 시간은 전체 운행 시간의 30.9%에 해당되었고, 이중에서 공회전 정지가 가능한 시간은 전체 운행시간의 21.6%로 추산되었다. 하루중 공회전 정지가 가능한 시간 비율은 낮 시간대에 가장 높았고, 공회전 정지를 실시하여도 운행 시간이 증가하는 경향은 나타나지 않았다. 시내버스의 신호대기 정차 시에는 공회전 정지를 실시하기에 충분한 시간 동안 정차를 하는 경우가 많았으나, 정류장 정차 시에는 공회전 정지를 실시하기에는 충분하지 않은 시간동안 정차하는 비율이 높았다. 시내버스의 전체 운행 시간중 감속시간이 차지하는 비중은 전체의 24.7%에 달했으며, 이 가운데에서 4초 이상 감속이 지속되는 구간의 비율이 약 30%에 달하는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 이러한 감속시 제동 에너지를 회생하여 저장하는 하이브리드 방식을 시내버스에 적용하는 것도 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

운행자동차의 공회전 정지에 의한 CO2 저감량 산출 연구 (Estimation of CO2 Reduction by Applying Idling Stop to in-Use Vehicles)

  • The effect of idling stop on $CO_2$ reduction was estimated, especially in the area of in-use vehicles. In order to know the fuel saving for each class of vehicles, a methodology to calculate the fuel saving was used along with a standard test using NIER-07 mode. Idling stop execution rate was estimated by analyzing the driving pattern of the in-use city buses, which shows about 75% at maximum. And this corresponds to about 5.4% reduction of the daily total fuel consumption. Finally, $CO_2$ reduction in the automotive sector was estimated, which concludes that, when idling stop device is used, about 480 thousand and 450 thousand tons of $CO_2$ could be reduced with in-use city buses and taxis, respectively. This amount corresponds to about 1.2% of $CO_2$ reduction in the automotive sector.

  • Rattle noise occurs at manual transmission as idling and driving of a automotive. It can be solved by torsional characteristics of a clutch disc. A clutch disc consist of a region of pre-damper and main-damper. Rattle noise is affected by pre-damper and main-damper equipped for a torsional spring and friction washer. Pre-damper range covers noise radiating from manual transmission when engine is idling and main-damper range covers noise when engine is driving. The aim of this reserch is to clear transmission rattle noise by way of torsional characteristics of a clutch disc. The experiment is carried out as idling and driving of a automobile equipped for 1.5L MPI engine, dry single-disc type clutch and manual transmission. In this study, the results show for a vibration of manual transmission as idling and driving can be cleared by a clutch disc of Pre-damper type.

  • The capacitive idling SEPIC(Single Ended primary Inductance Converter) is derived from the SEPIC topology. This converter is suitable for maximizing Li-Ion battery life in portable equipments. Besides, that makes it possible to increase the switching frequency without a additional circuitry This paper is presented the characteristics of the capacitive idling SEPIC and experimental waveforms of the devices in continuous current mode.

  • It is necessary to discuss lightening engine parts and reducing the friction of sliding parts to improve fuel consumption and combustion stability at idling condition. Lean best torque combustion which produce maximum power at a lean air-fuel ratio is effective for the reduction of exhaust gas emission and the improvement of fuel consumption. Accordingly, this study deals with the expansion of lean combustible limitation, the combustion stability and the reduction of idle speed through the analysis of combustion characteristics on the base of the control technique of precise air-fuel ratio because it does not need to maximum power at idling condition. The idle speed is increased proportional to ISC(Idle Speed Control) duty ratio. On the other hand the idle speed decreased by lean air-fuel ratio. The COV in engine speed is stable within maximum two percent up to 17.6 mixture ratio by the control of ISC duty ratio.

  • This paper deals with the ZVS characteristics of a bidirectional DC/DC converter in idling mode. Simulations are carried out with the supercapacitor which maximum voltage is 50 V. It is found that the ZVS can be achieved as far as the supercapacitor voltage is below 94% of the maximum voltage in idling mode. Therefore, the switching loss in the mode can be small by control the upper limit of the supercapacitor voltage.

  • This study identified concentrations of all pollutants emitted from idling of vehicles such as cars, taxis, trucks, and buses. In this investigation we analyzed concentrations of $SO_2$, NOx, CO, and $CO_2$ omitted from exhaust pipe of vehicles as a function of vehicle type, mileage, exhaust volume, and fuel type using the GreenLine. Compact or light cars, which have relatively low exhaust volume, showed much higher exhaust concentrations of $CO_2$, CO, and NOx than those emitted from vehicles with high exhaust volume. Vehicles using light oil showed much higher exhaust NOx concentrations than those of vehicles using gasoline. Vehicles using LPG and compact cars showed very high exhaust CO concentration compared to other vehicles. NOx exhaust concentrations were increased with increasing the mileage of vehicles.

Investigation of Cyclic Variations of IMEP Under Idling Operation in Spark Ignition Engines

  • Cyclic variability limits the range of operating conditions of spark ignition engines, especially under lean and highly diluted operation conditions. The cyclic combustion variations can be characterized by pressure parameters, combustion related parameters, and flame-front related parameters. The coefficient of variation (COV) in indicated mean effective pressure (IMEP) defines the cyclic variability in indicated work per cycle.

도심지 주행패턴에 의한 배출물특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on characteristics of exhaust emission due to vehicle driving pattern in urban area)

  • Driving pattern of gasoline passenger car was measured and analyzed at some areas(6urban area routes, 4 radial routes, 4 circular routes)in Seoul city. Measured items were vehicle speed, engine speed, intake manifold vacuum, and fuel consumption. Driving pattern data were reappearanced with engine dynamometer. Results of this investigation might be summarized as below; 1. When we compared urban area route with radial or circular route in rush hour, it was found that the average vehicle speed was measured to be lower about 25% and fuel consumption to be higher about 12% in urban area route. 2. Average vehicle speed was measured to be higher about 30% and driving resistance output to be higher about 25% in non-rush hour, but average fuel economy was increased a little. 3. On the bases of average fuel economy and characteristics of exhaust emissions, optimum driving vehicle speed was found about 60 km/h in the 4th(top)and about 40km/h in the 3rd in driving of experimental engine. 4. Idling frequency and exhaust emissions of CO,HC were related to idling closely. But exhaust emission of NOx, which had nothing to do with idling frequency, had relation to acceleration time ratio.
