A Study on Network detection technique using Human Immune System (인간 면역 체계를 이용한 네트워크 탐지기술 연구)

  • This paper reviews and assesses the analogy between the human immune system and network intrusion detection systems. The promising results from a growing number of proposed computer immune models for intrusion detection motivate this work. The paper begins by briefly introducing existing intrusion detection systems (IDS's). A set of general requirements for network-based IDS's and the design goals to satisfy these requirements are identified by a careful examination of the literature. An overview of the human immune system is presented and its salient features that can contribute to the design of competent network-based IDS's are analysed. The analysis shows that the coordinated actions of several sophisticated mechanisms of the human immune system satisfy all the identified design goals. Consequently, the paper concludes that the design of a novel network-based IDS based on the human immune system is promising for future network-based IDS's

  • Fuzzy logic, neural network, fuzzy-neural network play an important as the key technology of linguistic modeling for intelligent control and decision making in complex systems. The fuzzy -neural network (FNN) learning represents one of the most effective algorithms to build such linguistic models. This paper proposes learning approach of fuzzy-neural network by immune algorithm. The proposed learning model is presented in an immune based fuzzy-neural network (FNN) form which can handle linguistic knowledge by immune algorithm. The learning algorithm of an immune based FNN is composed of two phases. The first phase used to find the initial membership functions of the fuzzy neural network model. In the second phase, a new immune algorithm based optimization is proposed for tuning of membership functions and structure of the proposed model.

Emergent damage pattern recognition using immune network theory

  • This paper presents an emergent pattern recognition approach based on the immune network theory and hierarchical clustering algorithms. The immune network allows its components to change and learn patterns by changing the strength of connections between individual components. The presented immune-network-based approach achieves emergent pattern recognition by dynamically generating an internal image for the input data patterns. The members (feature vectors for each data pattern) of the internal image are produced by an immune network model to form a network of antibody memory cells. To classify antibody memory cells to different data patterns, hierarchical clustering algorithms are used to create an antibody memory cell clustering. In addition, evaluation graphs and L method are used to determine the best number of clusters for the antibody memory cell clustering. The presented immune-network-based emergent pattern recognition (INEPR) algorithm can automatically generate an internal image mapping to the input data patterns without the need of specifying the number of patterns in advance. The INEPR algorithm has been tested using a benchmark civil structure. The test results show that the INEPR algorithm is able to recognize new structural damage patterns.

  • The acts of biological immune system are similar to the navigation for autonomous mobile robots under dynamically changing environments. In recent years, many researchers have studied navigation algorithms using artificial immune networks. Conventional artificial immune algorithms consist of an obstacle-avoidance behavior and a goal-reaching behavior. To select a proper action, the navigation algorithm should combine the obstacle-avoidance behavior with the goal-reaching behavior. In this paper, the neural network is employed to combine the behaviors. The neural network is trained with the surrounding information. the outputs of the neural network are proper combinational weights of the behaviors in real-time. Also, a velocity control algorithm is constructed with the artificial immune network. Through a simulation study and experimental results for a autonomous mobile robot, we have shown the validity of the proposed navigation algorithm.

  • This paper suggests that the immune algorithm can effectively be used in tuning of a multivariable system. Then artificial immune network always has a new paraller decentralized processing mechanism for various situations, since antibodies communication to each other among different species of antibodies/B-cells through the simulation and suppression chains among antibodies that form a large-scaled network.   • Recently conventional artificial intelligence(AI) approaches have been employed to build action selectors for the autonomous mobile robot(AMR). However, in these approaches, the decision making process to choose an action from multiple competence modules is still an open question. Many researches have been focused on the reactive planning systems such as the biological immune system. In this paper, we attempt to construct an action selector for an AMR based on the artificial immune network and internet. The information from vision sensors is used for antibody. We propose a learning method for artificial immune network using evolutionary algorithm to produce antibody automatically. The internet environment for an AMR action selector shows the usefulness of the proposed learning artificial immune network application.

  • As an approach to develope a control system with robustness in changing control environment conditions, this paper will propose a robot manipulator control system using multilayer neural network and immune algorithm. The proposed immune algorithm which has the characteristics of immune system such as distributed and anomaly detection, probabilistic detection, learning and memory, consists of the innate immune algorithm and the adaptive immune algorithm. We will demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control system with simulations of a 2-link robot manipulator.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive mechanism based on immune algorithm and neural network identifier technique. It is also applied fur an autonomous guided vehicle (AGV) system. When the immune algorithm is applied to the PID controller, there exists the case that the plant is damaged due to the abrupt change of PID parameters since the parameters are almost adjusted randomly. To solve this problem, we use the neural network identifier (NNI) technique fur modeling the plant and humoral immune algorithm (HIA) which performs the parameter tuning of the considered model, respectively. After the PID parameters are determined in this off-line manner, these gains are then applied to the plant for the on-line control using an immune adaptive algorithm. Moreover, even though the neural network model may not be accurate enough initially, the weighting parameters are adjusted to be accurate through the on-line fine tuning. Finally, the simulation and experimental result fur the control of steering and speed of AGV system illustrate the validity of the proposed control scheme. These results for the proposed method also show that it has better performance than other conventional controller design methods.
