  • The characteristics of instantaneous wall-surface temperature of impinging plate in case of ultra high pressure injection have been measured and analyzed by using thin film instantaneous temperature probe and ultra high pressure injection equipment. The decreasing rate of temperature was greater in case of higher temperature of impinging plate. Temperature drop was largest at center of piston and it was slight for others. Instantaneous temperature decreases rapidly with increasing injection pressure. But above 2,500bar of injection pressure, the decreasing rates are slightly affected by increasing injection pressure.

  • Injection molding has been widely used for the mass production of a plastic product. With the development of the relative technique, various injection molding techniques have been developed and we could get more precise plastic product. The temperature of a melting resin is an important factor in the injection molding and this temperature has direct influence on the quality of a plastic product. In the present injection molding machine, the deriation of a temperature controlled by PID control method is within 2$^{\circ}C$ in the injection molding machine but PID control method takes too much time to stabilize after preheating and its overshoot is so big. We applied fuzzy control to alleriate the problem. In this research, we experimented the fuzzy temperature control with the usage of PC based PLC.

  • To measure of thermal loading in the combustion chamber of hydrogen engine with dual injection, instantaneous wall-surface temperature and unsteady heat flux of the cylinder head are measured and analyzed. The maximum wall surface temperature is shown in direct injection region which has large heat supplied. Partial and spatial temperatures have slight deviation in transient region of injection, though injection method change suddenly. All of thermal characteristics such as instantaneous temperature, temperature swing and heat flux of hydrogen engine with dual injection are remarkably higher than those of gasoline engine. It means necessity of additional countermeasure of thermal loading.

  • The post injection effect to enhance aftertreatment devices' performance is essential to meet future stringent emission standards by controlling exhaust gas temperature and emission pollutants. The test has been made with commercial common rail diesel engine by post injection manipulation, to optimize exhaust gas temperature while guarantee low fuel penalty. The optimization was done at 1500, 2000 and 2500[rpm] for 2, 4[bar] condition which show low exhaust gas temperature. The main purpose of this test is dedicated to understand mechanism of exhaust gas temperature rise while optimizing

  • The gate mark in injection molded part is a kind of surface defects. The formation of gate mark has been investigated in this study. SEM photographs and surface roughness have been examined to study gate mark. The specimens were molded for various injection conditions, such as injection temperature, mold temperature, and injection speed. Gate diameter and mold surface condition were also molding variables. Gate marks were reduced as injection speed and mold temperature increased. Gate diameter and injection temperature did not affect the gate marks. No etching of mold surface showed no gate marks for any molding conditions.

  • The shrinkages of injection molded parts are different in molding operational conditions, resins and additives. The shrinkage of injection molded part for crystalline polymer, PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) has been studied for various operational conditions of injection molding and content of additives. Mica was used as a additive to PBT to examine the part shrinkage according to the mica content. The part shrinkages of mica contained PBT decreased as mica content increases. Higher injection temperature and injection pressure resulted in a lower shrinkage. As mold temperature increases the part shrinkage decreased. The part shrinkage of flow direction was less than that of the perpendicular direction to the flow for both pure and mica contained PBT. However the shrinkage difference between flow and perpendicular to flow directions decreased as mica content increased.

  • Purpose: Recently, according to climate changes, human health is exposed to danger over the world and they influence all fields of human society. Due to these climate changes, humans can be exposed to more frequent and extreme scorching heat and cold wave than the present. As precautions against these urban higher temperature and dryness, diverse methods are being sought. Among them, as measures to form cold islands, the evaporative cooling effect realistic to social and economic conditions was examined. Method: This study was conducted to analyze effects of temperature reduction and cooling according to injection quantity of minute water particles by using a blast sprayer as one of alternatives of alleviation of urban climate changes in outside space in summer. For this, through temperature difference in accordance with the injection quantity per hour of a day, a time zone representing the value of the highest temperature change was analyzed. Also, by analyzing temperature difference according to the injection quantity per daytime insolation, relation of amounts of insolation and evaporation was investigated. Temperature difference in accordance with distances at the highest temperature with the highest value in temperature changes was analyzed. Result: At the study result, about temperature, as injection quantity increase, temperature reduction was significant statistically at the highest temperature with the most insolation. A factor with the highest influence was judged to be the increase of the injection quantity. According to the injection quantity, it was predicted that $3.1^{\circ}C$ temperature reduction of a daily average in case of 0.16L/min, $3.5^{\circ}C$ temperature reduction of a daily average in case of 0.32L/min, and $4.4^{\circ}C$ temperature reduction of a daily average in case of 0.48L/min.

  • Injection molding is one of the most general manufacturing processes of polymers. The deformation of final molded parts occurs because of the change of temperature and pressure during injection molding process. The deformation of injection molded parts depends on many operational conditions, such as, melt temperature, injection speed, mold temperature, packing pressure, and the structure of mold. In the present paper, injection molding experiments were performed to find the process conditions to affect the average shrinkage in thickness direction and the replication ratio of fine patterns on the surface for the final injection-molded LGP samples. As a results, in the cases of PC(Polycarbonate), when the melt temperature was under $285^{\circ}C$, both average shrinkage and replication ratios were mainly influenced by packing pressure. However, the replication ratio was more influenced by melt temperature than packing pressure for the cases of higher melt temperature.

  • The shrinkages of injection molded parts are different in molding operational conditions and mold design. It also differs from resins. The shrinkages of injection molded parts for PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), PC (polycarbonate),and glass reinforced PBT and PC have been studied for various operational conditions of injection molding. The part shrinkage of crystalline polymer, PBT was higher than that of amorphous polymer, PC by about two times. The part shrinkages of both polymers decreased as glass fiber content increases. Higher Injection temperature and lower injection pressure resulted in a higher shrinkage in both PBT and PC resins. As mold temperature increases the part shrinkage of PC decreased. However, the part shrinkage of PBT increased as mold temperature increases. The part shrinkage of both PBT and PC resins decreased as gate size increases since the pressure delivery is mush easier for a larger gate size. The part shrinkage of flow direction was less than that of the perpendicular direction to the flow for both pure and glass fiber reinforced resins. The part shrinkage at the position close to the gate was less than that of the position far from the gate.
