Effects of Nursing and Care=giving Integrated Service on nursing work performance, nurses' job satisfaction and patient safety (간호간병통합서비스 운영병동 간호사의 간호업무성과, 직무 만족 및 환자안전사고)

  • Purpose: To study aimed to examine the impact of the Nursing and Care=giving Integrated Service on nursing work performance, nurse' job satisfaction, and patient safety. Methods: A total of 66 nurses were selected as participants, comprising 30 nurses working in Nursing and Care=giving Integrated Service hospital ward, and 33 nurses working in a general hospital ward with a similar patient and disease group and distributed moderately. For data analysis, t-tests, ANOVA, and $X^2$ tests were conducted. Results: Nursing work performance in the Nursing and Care=giving Integrated Service ward was higher than that in the general hospital ward, but this difference was not statistically significant. Conversely, job satisfaction was lower among nurses in the Nursing and Care=giving Integrated Service ward, although again the difference was not significant. However, the Nursing and Care=giving Integrated Service ward had a significantly lower rate of safety-related accidents in patients compared to the general hospital ward. Conclusion: In order to expand and improve patient safety and other aspects of the Nursing and Care=giving Integrated Service, there is a need to establish a mediation strategy for increasing nurses' work performance and job satisfaction.

Factors Influencing Job Satisfaction Among Nurses in Integrated Nursing Care Service Wards (간호·간병통합서비스 병동 간호사의 직무만족에 미치는 영향요인)

  • Objectives: This descriptive survey study aimed to identify factors that affect job satisfaction among nurses working in integrated nursing care service wards and to explore measures to increase job satisfaction among these nurses. Methods: Data were collected between July 20 and August 3, 2018 from nurses working in integrated nursing care service wards in Busan and Changwon city, in Korea. Data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 23.0 software(IBM corp., Armonk, NY, USA). Results: Factors affecting job satisfaction among nurses working in integrated nursing care service wards were identified as follows: professional self-concept (${\beta}=.32$, p=.003), which is a subdomain of nursing professionalism, and nursing foundations for quality care (${\beta}=.30$, p=.001), which is a subdomain of nursing work environment. The model had an explanatory power of 54.7%. Conclusions: Nursing professionalism should be strongly established among nurses, as nurses are key players in a health system that allows stable and expanded operations of integrated nursing care. Intervention measures that create a better work environment for nurses should also be implemented. Furthermore, it is necessary to develop systematic strategies and multifaceted efforts to increase nurses' job satisfaction in integrated nursing care service wards.

Employees' experiences of integrated services in Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Centers in Seoul (서울지역 건강가정·다문화가족지원센터 종사자의 통합서비스 운영 경험)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore employees' experiences of integrated services in Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Centers in Seoul. In-depth interviews were conducted with seven employees, including managers and heads of Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Centers. The interviews identified three themes: the direction of integrated service, the characteristics of the integration process, and the challenges of integrated service. For the direction of integrated service, the participants identified the integration center as a professional family services organization that provided customized services for different types of families. During the integration process, employees found it difficult to provide integrated services because few guidelines existed on operating an integration center that provided services to families with different characteristics and needs. However, they also explained positive aspects of integration, such as strengthening the business's capacity by expanding the organization. To improve integrated service, employees emphasized the expertise and appropriateness of the family services over the efficiency of the integration centers. They also stressed expansion as a role of a professional family services organization. These findings suggested that establishing a clear direction for integrated service as well as the roles of administrative support agencies is important for activating integrated services.

  • Third party logistics research is searching for increasing its logistics efficiency of organization. Perspective of resource-based theory, this study is to reveal the exploratory relation between integrated capabilities, organzaiton knowledge, and service performance. To develop the relational model, this study conducted a theoretical survey on Shang(2009)'s 3PL service providers research model and Synder & Cumming(1998)'s learning of organization knowledge. According to the result of correlation analysis, Integrated organization knowledge is positively correlated with service diversity advantage (correlation coefficient= .670, p-value= .000) and service quality advantage (correlation coefficient= .575, p-value= .000). The thesis argued that Korean companies try to apply integrated organization abilities and service performance for cutting their export expense.

  • The emergence of technologies like Big data analytics, Industrial Internet of Things, Internet of Things, and applicability of these technologies in various domains leads to increased demand in the underlying execution environment. The demand may be for compute, storage, and network resources. These demands cannot be effectively catered by the conventional cloud environment, which requires an integrated environment. The task of finding an appropriate service provider is tedious for a service consumer as the number of service providers drastically increases and the services provided are heterogeneous in the specification. A service broker is essential to find the service provider for varying service consumer requests. Also, the service broker should be smart enough to make the service providers best fit for consumer requests, ensuring that both service consumer and provider are mutually beneficial. A service broker in an integrated environment named Global Manager is proposed in the paper, which can find an appropriate service provider for every varying service consumer request. The proposed Global Manager is capable of identification of parameters for service negotiation with the service providers thereby making the providers the best fit to the maximum possible extent for every consumer request. The paper describes the architecture of the proposed Global Manager, workflow through the proposed algorithms followed by the pilot implementation with sample datasets retrieved from literature and synthetic data. The experimental results are presented with a few of the future work to be carried out to make the Manager more sustainable and serviceable.

  • 최근 인터넷에서는 Mbone, 인터넷 폰과 같이 End-to-End QoS (Quality of Service) 보장을 요구하는 많은 실시간 멀티미디어 응용들이 출현하고 있다[1]. 인터넷 표준 기구인 IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force)에서는 과거 수년간, 이러한 실시간 멀티미디어 응용들을 지원하기 위한 Integrated Service 구조를 개발하고 자원 예약 프로토콜로서 RSVP (Resource Reservation Protocol)를 개발하였다. 하지만, flow를 기본 단위로 하여 자원을 예약하고 패킷을 처리하는 Integrated Service 모델은 인터넷에 광역적으로 구축되기에는 너무 복잡한 것으로 드러났다. 이에 따라, 큰 규모의 인터넷 전달망에 적용할 경우 scalability 문제를 안고 있는 Integrated Service 모델의 대안 또는 보완책으로, Differentiated Service 구조가 작년부터 IETF에서 활발히 논의되어 왔다. [2,3,4]. 본 논문에서는 Differentiated Service의 구조 및 구성요소의 개념을 살펴보고, RSVP/Integrated Service 구조와 어떻게 공존하여 광역 인터넷에서 End-to-End QoS를 제공할 수 있을지를 고찰한 다음, 향후 기술 발전을 전망한다.

The Roles and Human Resources of Service Design

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the roles and human resources of service design. Background: The definition of service design is not clear yet, also did not define in this study. I studied the components of service design which are roles and human resources. That is helpful to understand the definition of service design and to clarify the works in service design. Method: I compare the service design with user experience design. I empirically define the roles and human resources of service design. Results: The roles of service design are service strategy, research, service concept design, service specification, service architecture design, integrated communication design, integrated system design, integrated operation design, service evaluation, launch, operation, and knowledge management. Conclusion: We defined who works and what works in service design. Application: The results of this study help the clarification of service design.

Lowering Error Floor of LDPC Codes Using an Improved Parallel WBF Algorithm

  • In weighted bit-flipping-based algorithms for low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes, due to the existence of overconfident incorrectly received bits, the metric values of the corresponding bits will always be wrong in the decoding process. Since these bits cannot be flipped, decoding failure results. To solve this problem, an improved parallel weighted bit flipping algorithm is proposed. Specifically, a reliability-saturation strategy is adopted to increase the flipping probability of the overconfident incorrectly received bits. Simulation results show that the error floor of LDPC codes is greatly lowered.

Development of Conversational Interface Platform Based on MS Robotics Studio for Integrated Service Robots (통합 서비스 로봇을 위한 MS 로보틱스 스튜디오 기반 대화 인터페이스 플랫폼 구축)

  • The development of IT technology makes the functions and services of robots be integrated, and thus the robots become more intelligent and useful. As sophisticated usage of robots has evolved, direct communication by human language is necessary to increase the efficiency of their usage. In this paper, we propose a conversational interface platform for integrated service robots using MS Robotics Studio. The proposed platform consists of three types of components: a conversation manager to control the flows of the integrated service robots, a user interface to interact with users, and multiple service robots to perform actions or services. For a test-bed of the proposed platform, we build a schedule manager system and confirm the usability through SUS subject test by comparing the schedule manager system with MS Outlook.

Ways to Improve In-Service Science Teachers' Expertise with the Introduction of 'Integrated Science' in the 2015 Revised Curriculum (2015 개정 교육과정의 '통합과학' 도입에 따른 중등 과학과 현직교사 역량 제고 방안)

  • Teacher reeducation is required to be comfortable with the 'Integrated science' subject as introduced in the 2015 revised curriculum. In this research, we designed in-service teacher training programs according to the types of secondary school science teacher's certificates, and developed ways to improve in-service science teachers' competencies. Through Delphi surveys with 22 science education experts, we investigated the features of the 2015 revised 'Integrated science' curriculum in light of its characteristics, purposes, contents system, contents, and so on, and explored teachers' competencies to teach the subject. Based on the analysis of the features of each type of secondary school science teachers' certification and required teacher competencies for teaching 'Integrated science', we developed three types of teacher training programs: in-service training courses for understanding the 2015 revised 'Integrated science' (Type A), in-service training courses for 'Integrated science' (Type B), and in-service teacher training certificate program for 'Integrated science' (Type C). For each teacher training program, we suggested the target of the training program in light of teacher certificates, operation systems, and ways to organize the program. In addition, we also suggested ways to improve 'Integrated science' teacher education programs for pre-service as well as in-service teachers, and examined ways to improve educational requirements for qualification in 'Integrated science' teaching based on the opinions of experts. Discussed in the conclusion are ways to design in-service teacher training programs for 'Integrated science' teaching and ways to improve 'Integrated science' teacher training.
