국내외 홍채학 연구동향 (A Review of Iridology)

  • Objectives Iridology is a field of study that diagnoses various systemic diseases through analysis of colors, structural characteristics and changes in iris. The purpose of this study was to review previously published study results of the iridology. Methods The studies were searched with the keyword "iridology" through search engines such as SCOPUS, Pub med, RISS, and NDSL. Total of 36 iridology-related studies published from 1980 to 2012 were analyzed. Results Most diagnoses of systemic disease through iris markings were insignificant. The studies on relevance of gene polymorphism and iris constitution were highly significant. The studies on relevance of Sasang constitution and iris constitution varied in results depending on diagnosis methods. The studies on relevance of iris constitution and diseases had significant results. The structural characteristics of iris were related to certain personality. Conclusions The studies on utility of iris diagnosis and diagnostic markings were negative, but the relevance of constitution, heredity, and iris diagnosis was positive. A persistent in-depth study on relevance of iris and constitution is needed in the future.

홍채를 통한 사상체질진단: QSCCII 설문지조사와 비교연구 (Sasang Constitutional Diagnosis by Iridology: Comparitive Study with QSCCII Questionnaire)

  • This study aims at finding out the correlation between sasang constitution diagnosis using QSCCII which is self reporting questionnaire and sasang constitution diagnosis using iridology. In this study, 131 adult male and female participated as testees. The survey on questionnaires of QSCCII were carried out and then photos of irises of the participants were taken. The data from QSCCII was computed in WIN QSCCII version and they were translated into sasang constitution. For iris photos, the iris specialized camera with 1,300,000 picture elements was used, and then the iris photos were also read by computer. The correlation rate between QSCCII sasang constitution and iris sasang constitution was 52.4%, where kappa coefficient shows 0.323, which gives meaningful result statistically. And thus, the result can be used as a reference in sasang constitution diagnosis. For iridology to be served as a tool for sasang constitution diagnosis, criteria need to be developed for more concrete iris sasang constitution diagnosis in the future. And also comparative research is required among sasang constitution professionals and its iridological correlation of Sasang constitution carried out on more various group of people.

  • This study was performed to investigate the relation between Iridological constitution and Gynecological disease. Iris is one of the most complicated part of our bodies. It reflects perfectly organ's status, toxic accumulation, person's characteristics and healing effects. Many signs of Iridology were closely researched to examine the relation between Iridology and disease. After studying these matters, we could find that lacuna and auto-nerve wreath are intimately related. Especially the portions of auto-nerve wreath loss are accorded with the organ's present illness. Most of patients have scurf ring and vessel congestion sign. Large Intestine's structure also shows us the meaningful result that ballooned is the most common, spasticity and stricture are next. Connective tissue weakness constitution is 39.22%, complex 35.29% and blood-originated 25.49%. According to the three-step constitution by the Genetic facter, average type is 52.94%, weak type 35.29% and strong type 11.76%. Above these results, we can reach a conclusion that Iridological constitution are intimately related with Gynecological disease. And further study are requested to get a objectivity in a Gynecological diagnose. Iridology is a bright prospective study and interesting diagnostic method. If we deeply investigate this science, before long we can have a great outcome and more objective diagnostic skill.

사상체질의학을 포함한 체질론적 의학이론의 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study for World-wide Constitutional Theories including Sasang Constitutional Medicine)

  • Objectives: This study aimed at comparing Sasang constitutional medicine(SCM) with other constitutional theories of the world. Methods: From PubMed database, we first searched all papers using the term 'constitution', then filtered those having really constitution-focused papers. Then, they were analyzed to compare each constitutional theory and medicinal practice. Results: There were five constitution-related medicines which have been practiced in medical field: Sasang, iridology, somatotype, dermatoglyphics and Ayurveda. There was the largest number of scientific researches for dermatoglyphics while the smallest number of papers was for SCM. The other three constitutional theories were based on anatomic/histologic difference between types in contrast to SCM and Ayurveda, which relied on inherited functional differences of four or three internal organs. Conclusions: This study simultaneously compared five major constitutional theories currently practiced as medicines in the world. We found that even as SCM seems to have the most potential as therapeutic medicine it should be studied more using scientific methodologies to be a world-wide medicine.

칼라 홍채영상을 이용한 홍채진단시스템 (An Iris Diagnosis System using Color Iris Images)

  • 홍채진단은 홍채의 패턴, 색, 기타 다른 특징들을 조사하여 환자의 병을 진단하는 대체의학이다. 그러나 기존의 연구는 흑백 홍채영상을 이용하여 홍채 내의 특정 패턴을 검출하는 알고리즘 연구로 홍채의 칼라 정보로부터 건강상태를 체크하는 진단시스템으로 사용하기에는 부족하다. 본 논문에서는 칼라 홍채영상과 의료정보 데이터베이스를 이용하는 홍채진단시스템을 개발하였다. 개발한 시스템은 홍채카메라는 갖는 입력모듈, 홍채병소징후 검출 모듈, 의료정보 데이터베이스, 출력 모듈 등 4가지 모듈로 되어있다. 칼라 홍채영상으로부터 7가지 주요 홍채병소징후를 추출하고 검진의 정확도를 위해 병소 수동 편집 기능을 제공한다. 병소를 분석하는 단계에서는 홍채학에 기반한 의료정보와 개인 이력 관리 모듈을 이용한다. 제안한 시스템은 기존 시스템의 비해 다양한 기능이 추가되어 홍채진단 시스템으로 활용 가능하다.

홍채 촬영용 광학계 설계 (Design of an Optical System for Iris Photographing)

  • 목적: 홍채학에 사용되는 소형 홍채 촬영용 광학계 설계. 방법: 소형 홍채 촬영용 광학계를 설계하기 위해 Sigma 2000 광학 설계 프로그램을 사용하였다. 결과: 마이크로 액츄에이터를 오토 포커싱에 사용하는 CCD에 적합한 홍채 촬영용 광학계를 설계하였는데, TCL이 30 mm이고, 배율이 -0.65배, 첫 번째 렌즈에서 마지막 렌즈까지의 거리가 약 8.0 mm, 경통 최대 구경 11 mm, 스톱의 유효구경이 약 1 mm인 특성을 가지는 광학계가 되었다. 또한 분해선폭은 30% MTF 값 기준으로 92 lps/mm인 특성을 보여준다. 결론: TCL이 30 mm이고, 첫 번째 렌즈에서 마지막 렌즈 까지의 거리가 약 8.0 mm, 경통 최대 구경 11 mm이고, MTF 30% 기준에서 분해능 선폭이 $5.4{\mu}m$에 이르는 광학계를 설계하여 홍채 촬영용 광학계를 소형화 할 수 있었다.

홍채학기반이 질병예측을 위한 홍채인식 알고리즘 (An Iris Detection Algorithm for Disease Prediction based Iridology)

  • 홍채진단은 홍채의 패턴, 색 등 다른 특징들을 조사하여 환자의 병을 진단하는 대체의학이다. 이 논문에서는 촬영한 홍채이미지의 차영상을 이용해 홍채를 분석하고 홍채 변화에 따른 환자의 건강진단에 활용한 질병예측 알고리즘을 제안한다. 그러나 기존의 연구는 홍채영상을 이용하여 홍채 내의 특정 패턴을 검출하는 알고리즘 연구로 홍채의 다양한 정보로부터 건강 상태를 체크하는 진단시스템으로 사용하기에는 부족하다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 촬영된 홍채영상의 차영상을 이용해 질병의 조기 진단 및 질병의 전개과정을 명확히 판단한다. 또한 홍채영상으로부터 8가지 주요 홍채병소징후를 추출하고 검진의 정확도를 실험한 결과 패턴 매칭 기법에 의한 인식률 91%로 홍채진단의 자동화에 적용 가능하다.

  • This study was purposed to observe the advantages obtained from iridodiagnostics and automatic iridoscope or oriental medical doctors. In order to study the iridodiagnostics, 5 case-researches were made as the first step. The results were obtained as follows. 1. First of all, the formation of darkening area must be paid attentionally with toxic spot and lacunain relation to the interpretation of present illness. 2. The theoretical concepts about structure in iridodiagnostics and oriental medicine were same. 3. The constitutional type of iridodiagnostics played a important role in concluding the nature and background of symptoms. 4. Most of iris signs reflected the histological changes of body structure equally, and successive study about the difference of visceral scheme between iridology and Oriental Medicine would be needed in the future.

  • 1. Purpose : The present study was carried out to evaluate the effects of simultaneous treatment with acupuncture, herb medication and non-invasive laser irradiation of blood vessel on the pain control of primary headache. 2. Methods : 30 outpatients who visited in the oriental medical hospital of Kyungsan University from April 10, 2001 to Oct. 10, 2001, based on symptoms and the results of pulse diagnosis, stress test(ABR-2000) and iridology test, were observed on the pain control of primary headache like tension or stress-induced headache. 1)Acupuncture and herbal medicine : Acupuncture treatment and herb medication widely used for headache were carried out simultaneously. 2)Non-invasive laser irradiation : Laser irradiation was undertaken on brachial vein with Lapex-2000 for 30minutes a day for 5 to 15days. 3. Result and Conclusion: In patients with headache, triglyceride mean values decreased from $168.57{\pm}26.90mg/dL$ to $154.23{\pm}28.66mg/dL$ and total cholesterol mean values decreased from $202.23{\pm}22.17mg/dL$ to $194.57{\pm}19.32mg/dL$, after simultaneous treatment with acupuncture, herb medication and non-invasive laser irradiation of blood vessel. And these results suggest that these simultaneous treatment has significant effects in tension and stress-induced headache.: Experiment subjects considered as shown the validity in the headache estimated 80%.

IoT 디바이스를 활용한 고해상도 홍채 카메라 모듈 개발 (Development of High Resolution Iris Camera Module using IoT Device)

  • 현재 사용되고 있는 홍채 카메라는 고가이며 사용적인 부분에서 제한점을 많이 가지고 있다. 기존 홍채 카메라는 새롭게 개발된 소프트웨어와의 연동에 불편함을 가지고 있고, 홍채 촬영 시 발생하는 빛 반사는 의료용으로 사용하기에 부적합하다는 문제점을 갖는다. 따라서 기존 카메라를 이용해 스스로 이미지 촬영을 위해서는 활용이 불가능한 상태이다. 본 논문에서는 스스로 홍채 촬영이 가능하면서 우리의 관심영역을 잘 볼 수 있도록 홍채카메라를 새롭게 구성한다. IoT 디바이스를 이용해 누구나 손쉽게 안경형 홍채카메라를 착용하고 영상을 획득할 수 있으며 획득된 영상은 홍채 분석 프로그램과 연동되어 유전적 약한 부분을 판독해 주는데 활용하고자 한다. 제안된 홍채 카메라 모듈은 영상 촬영시 빛 반사, 흔들림 및 정확한 초점을 자동으로 제공해주기 때문에 영상분석의 정확도를 91.49%까지 높여주고, 정확한 영상입력으로 인해 하나의 이미지 처리시간이 0.007ms로 빠르게 실행됨을 실험을 통해 증명하였다.
