차체 조립용 용접 지그 설계 전용 CAD시스템 개발 (Development of a Dedicated CAD System for Welding Jigs for Automotive Body Assembly)

  • This paper introduces the development of a three-dimensional jig design system for automotive body welding assembly. Recently, three-dimensional CAD systems have been introduced in the jig design area, because they reduce errors in design process and the design result can be used readily for virtual manufacturing simulation. However, to facilitate three-dimensional jig design, it is essential to customize three-dimensional CAD system for this specific design area. To accomplish this object, we first standardized the parts and units in a jig assembly, and then built the standard part library. We also developed the dedicated 3D design capabilities of jig units and a jig base. By using this system, design can be performed more intuitively, and verification and simulation of design results can be done more easily. The proposed system has been implemented using the UG/Open API of the Unigraphics system.

  • Drilling Jig is the device according to industrial demand for multi manufacturing products on the growing at alarming rate. In the field of design and making for machine tool working, welding, assembling with jig and fixture for mass production is a specific division. In order to prevent the production defects the optimum design of product, fig and fixture putting in the field is very significant manufacturing method. They require analysis of many kinds of important factors, theory and practice of machine tool operating process and its phenomena, jig & fixture structure, machining condition for tool making tool materials, heat treatment of jig & fixture components, know-how and so on. In this study we designed and constructed a drilling jig of mass production and performed tryout under the Auto CAD, database, and window environment. Especially Part1 of this study is reveals with the analysis of part drawing, jig planning, jig design etc.

유연 지그를 이용한 서스펜션 부싱의 비틀림 및 원추 강성 측정기 개발 (Development of a Measurement System of Torsional and Conical Suspension Bushing Rates with the Flexible Jig)

  • The stiffness of a bushing in a suspension is extremely important for the overall performance of the suspension system. A new measurement system including the flexible jig was developed to measure the multi-directional stiffness of bushings. To overcome the disadvantage of building each individual jig for each type and size of a bushing, we designed the flexible jig which can accommodate numerous bushings of similar shapes and sizes. Upon using the novel design of the flexible jig in the industry, we could successfully measure the torsional and conical stiffness of many bushings and apply the data for the prediction and evaluation of the performance of a suspension system, which would assist designing the optimal suspension system.

  • 시트프레임은 탑승자와 차량을 연결되는 유일한 구조부품으로 안전성을 위해서는 용접부 품질 향상이 필수적이다. 일반적으로 시트프레임의 용접에는 로봇과 전용지그시스템이 사용되며 로봇과 지그시스템의 간섭으로 인한 용접누락부가 발생할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 업체에서 사용하고 있는 용접지그시스템의 용접누락부에 대해 분석하였고 이를 해결하기 위하여 사용된 3차원 모델링 및 설계변경에 대해 논하였다. 결론적으로 시스템의 용접생산성이 향상되었고 최적의 지그시스템 개발을 통해 수동용접지그가 불필요하게 됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper introduces the development of design capabilities for air cylinders and jig bases in a three-dimensional jig design system for automobile body assembly. We first built the standard part library for these parts, and then developed the dedicated 3D design capabilities based on the Unigraphics system. By using this 3-D jig design system, design can be performed more intuitively, and verification and simulation of design results can be done more easily as the 3-D design result can be used readily for virtual manufacturing simulation.

오징어 채낚기 낚시의 야광이 어획에 미치는 영향 (Influence of luminous jig to catching of squid jigging in the Korean waters)

  • This study identified the characteristics of squid jig in korea waters by investigating the effect of color and luminous performance of squid jig on the catch of squid and experimenting the result of jig according to green jig or white jig, and whether using luminous or not were tested in the sea to improve the jig of squid jigging. For this purpose, a total of 13 sea experiments were conducted using T/S No. 2 Galmaegi. As a result, 341 squids were caught. Among them, 221 squids were caught by green jig (64.8%), 64 squids were caught by white jig (18.8%), 41 squids were caught by green luminous jig (13.8%), and nine squids were caught by white luminous jig (2.6%). The green jig commonly used in jigging vessel was most effective, and luminous jig was less effective than that non-luminous jig. The squids caught were Japanese flying squid (Todarodes pacificus), swordtip squid (Loligo edulis) and spear squid (Loligo bleekeri), and no significant characteristics were found according to the color of jig and the presence of luminous.

유연조립 시스템에서의 Jig/Fixture 설계에 관한 연구 (Design Guidance of Jig/Fixture for Flexible Manufacturing System)

  • This paper presents a design guidance of jig/fixture for flexible manufacturing system based on the verification of a base assembly motion instability. In flexible assembly system, the base assembly needs to be maintained in its assembled state without being taken apart. This requires stability in motion while the base assembly is handled or tilted. Therefore, the instability of the base assembly motion should be considered when determining the guide line of designing jig/fixture by evaluating a degree of the motion instability of the base assembly. To derive the instability, first we inference collision free assembly directions by extracting separable directions for the mating parts and calculate the separability which gives informations as to how the parts can be easily separated. Using these results, we determine the instability evaluated by summing all the modified separabilities of each component part within base assembly.

고전압 장비 지그의 동특성에 대한 위상, 형상 및 치수 최적화 (Topology, Shape and Sizing Optimization of the Jig Supporting High Voltage Pothead)

  • 본 논문에서는 Pothead를 지지하는데 사용하는 지그의 고유진동수를 일정 범위로 제한하여 Pothead와 공진을 일으키지 않도록 하는 지그의 최적 설계안을 제시한다. 쿤 터커(Kuhn-Thucker) 조건을 적용한 최적기준법(Optimality criteria method)을 사용하여 위상 최적화를 수행하였고, 이 과정에서 유한요소 크기기 최적 형상에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 또한 위상 최적화 결과를 바탕으로 실험 계획법(Design of experiments)과 반응 표면법(Response surface method)을 사용하여 형상 및 치수 최적화를 수행하여 비교용 지그에 비해 전체 질량이 30% 감소되는 결과를 얻었다. 마지막으로 최적화된 지그의 내진 해석을 수행한 Pothead의 응답은 Metal Handbook에서 제시된 내진 응답을 만족하고 있다.

SKD11 절단금형치구용 소재의 마모손상에 관한 연구 (A study on wear damage of SKD11 steel material for a cutting mold jig)

  • This study is on wear damage of the material for a molding machine that be used at finally cutting of metal beam made in roll forming process of vehicle bump beam process line. SKD11 steel was used with the material for cutting mold jig. In the cutting mold jig, Ti diffusion heat treatment after vacuum heat treatment was carried out for upgrade of surface hardness and anti-wear. Also, the heat treatments by various methods were performed to compare the wear damage degree against above the existing heat treatment. Wear loss and friction coefficient were obtained from wear test. And, micro Vickers hardness values were compared with damaged parts or not of cutting mold jig. Micro Vickers hardness value appeared higher at the undamaged part by Ti diffusion heat treatment. The micro Vickers hardness well followed a two-parameter Weibull probability distribution.
