The objective of this study is to investigate the structural behavior of steel beam-high strength concrete column joints subjected to reversed cyclic loadings. The variables of the experimental study is amount of steel plates at the beam-to-column joint panel zone. Three specimens were prepared and tested under constant uniaxial load($0.2f_{ck}A_g$) to reinforced high strength concrete column, and the reversed cyclic loads were applied to end of steel beams, The failure modes, hysteresis loop, stiffness degradations and energy dissipation capacities were analyzed and compared for test variables.

The adhesively bonded tubular single lap joint shows a nonlinear relationship between the applied torque and the resulting displacement under the static-torsional loading, which is induced from the nonlinear properties of the adhesive. However the torque transmission capability in the case of the dynamic-torsional loading is much less than that in the case of the static-torsional loading, the stress level of the adhesive is usually in the region of the linear stress and strain relation and the stress distributions of the joint can be obtained by the linear analysis. In this paper, a failure model for the adhesively bonded tubular single lap joint under the torsional fatigue loading was developed with respect to the adhesive thickness that was a critical factor in predicting the static torque transional-cyclic loadings was proposed.
Concrete-filled circular t steel tubular joints (CFSTJs) in practice are frequently subjected to fluctuated loadings caused by wind, earthquake and so on. As fatigue crack is sensitive to such cyclic loadings, assessment on performance of CFSTJs with crack-like defect attracts more concerns because both high stress concentration at the brace/chord intersection and welding residual stresses along weld toe cause the materials in the region around the intersection to be more brittle. Once crack initiates and propagates along the weld toe, tri-axial stresses in high gradient around the crack front exist, which may bring brittle fracture failure. Additionally, the stiffness and the load carrying capacity of the CFSTJs with crack may decrease due to the weakened connection at the intersection. To study the behaviour of CFSTJs with initial crack, experimental tests have been carried out on three full-scale CFCST T-joints with same configuration. The three specimens include one uncracked joint and two corresponding cracked joints. Load-displacement and load-deformation curves, failure mode and crack propagation are obtained from the experiment measurement. According to the experimental results, it can be found that he load carrying capacity of the cracked joints is decreased by more than 10% compared with the uncracked joint. The effect of crack depth on the load carrying capacity of CFCST T-joints seems to be slight. The failure mode of the cracked CFCST T-joints represents as plastic yielding rather than brittle fracture through experimental observation.

It has been shown that many reinforced concrete(RC) structures designed without seismic details have experienced brittle shear failures in the beam-column joint area and may result in large permanent deformations and structural collapse. In this study, experimental investigations for RC beam-column joints strengthened with the carbon fiber-reinforced polymer(CFRP) under cyclic loadings were presented. The use of CFRP in the joint was varied to determine the effective way of improving the structural performances of RC joints. Ten RC beam-column joints were designed and tested with cyclic loadings. The experimental results showed that the use of CFRP in RC joints would be very effective solutions to improve the seismic performances of the non-seismic RC joints. All of the non-seismic design specimens strengthened with CFRP sheets showed the significant increase of strength and ductility.

When MWK (Multiaxial Warp Knitted Fabric) composites are applied for the structures, the connections of each component using mechanical fastening is needed. The local contact between the bolted joint and the composite laminates may induce high stress concentration or breakdown in the laminates for the mechanical joints. There for, it is strongly required to study the characteristics of mechanically joints of MWK composite laminates. In this study, stress analysis near the hole boundary of MWK composite laminate is conducted with various geometric factors under different loadings. In the case of multi-pin loaded MWK composite laminates, the results show that the types of loadings and geometric factors of mechanical joints have a significant influence on the joint performances.
In this study, the deformation characteristics of atrtificially fractured joints of granite under normal and shear loading were investigated. To obtain the characteristics of joint deformation, compression and shear tests were performed in the laboratory on three different sizes of rock specimens. The rock used in the experimens was Iksan granite. Joints were produced artificially by fracturing using the apparatus for generating extension-joint. Joint normal deformability was studied by conducting cyclic loading tests on the joints. Joint closure varied non-linearly with normal stress through cyclic loadings. As normal stress increased, the joints gradually reached a state of maximum joint closure. The relation between normal stress and joint closure for mated and unmated joints was well described by the hyperbolic and exponential function, respectively. Joint shear deformability was studied by performing direct shear tests under normal stresses on the joints. it was shown that the behaviour in the prepeak range was non-linear and joint shear stiffness depended on the size of specimen and the normal stress.

RC (Reinforced Concrete) member has varying service life due to varying diffusion characteristics with loading conditions even if it is exposed to constant exterior conditions. In the paper, quantitative parameters are obtained through adopting the previous results for effects of compressive, tensile, and cold joint on chloride diffusion in OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) and GGBFS (Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag) concrete. Service life is evaluated in RC simple beam with 10.0m of span through increasing loading from self weight (2.5kN/m) to the loading to cracking moment (5.5kN/m). In OPC concrete without cold joint, service life changes to 89.4% for tensile region and 101% for compressive region with loadings while GGBFS concrete has 80.0% and 106%, respectively. For cold joint area, GGBFS concrete shows much reduced service life to 82~80% in compressive region and 69~61% in tensile region, which is caused by the lower diffusion in normal condition but relatively higher increasing cold joint effect than OPC concrete.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Bent-up Bars in Beam-Column Joint with High-Strength Concrete up to 800 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$. 5 specimens were tested under reversed cyclic loadings. The primary variables were the number of the Bented Bars with Joint Core, compressive strength and loading patterrns. The results showed that bent-up bars in beam-column joint prevented crack from extending into core but the failure was concreterated at the face of beam-column joint. Thus shear stress constant value(Г) should be revised for High Strength Concrete Beam-Column Joint with Bent-up Bars.
A Precast frame system with hybrid beam-column connections was proposed in this study. An analytical study evaluated the system under seismic loadings. Four buildings with different heights were modeled in which each building had three types of joint details (A. B, C). Thus, twelve buildings were examined with variables such as building height and joint detail. Four earthquake records were applied to the buildings as input ground motions. All the records were normalized to the intensity of 0.25g to assess behavior under the same intensity of seismic excitation. All the joint types showed almost identical results except for the Mexico earthquake which was scaled up from 0. 1g to 0.25g. Buildings with the type C joint exhibited the largest deflection for the Mexico earthquake. It was concluded that type B joint could be used in a high seismic zone and the type C joint could possibly be used in the regions of low to medium seismic activity.
