Lung cancer ranks first in cancer mortality in Korea and cancer incidence in Korean men. More than half of Korean lung cancer patients undergo chemotherapy, including adjuvant therapy. Cytotoxic agents, targeted therapy, and immune checkpoint inhibitors are used in chemotherapy according to the biopsy and genetic test results. Among chemotherapy, the one that has developed rapidly is targeted therapy. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines have been updated recently for targeted therapy of multiple gene mutations, and targeted therapy is used not only for chemotherapy but also for adjuvant therapy. While previously targeted therapies have been developed for common genetic mutations, recently targeted therapies have been developed to overcome uncommon mutations or drug resistance that have occurred since previous targeted therapy. Therefore, this study describes recent, rapidly developing targeted therapies.

Objectives : Microneedle therapy and Subcision are commonly used for therapeutic modalities of acne scars in Korean medicine. Beevenom could promote the expression of various cytokines, enzymes and receptors related to increasing collagen content of connective tissues. Through this mechanism, we considered that Beevenom pharmacopuncture therapy is applicable to the treatment of acne scars. We investigated twenty-seven patients with acne scars treated by Microneedle therapy and Subcision combined with Beevenom pharmacopuncture therapy and evaluated the clinical effect.Methods : Twenty-seven patients with acne scars were treated by Microneedle therapy and Subcision combined with Beevenom pharmacopuncture therapy and evaluated the clinical effect. for twelve weeks. The severity of acne scars and treatment effect were evaluate by standardized photography, GASC, ECCA scale and patient`s satisfaction. And side effects was also checked.Results : After twelve weeks for treatment, there was an improvement in GASC, ECCA scale. 77.8% of patient replied excellent or good on patient satisfaction survey. One patient sufferied from pruritus, papules and comedones as side effect of treatment.Conclusion : It can be considered that Microneedle, Subcision, Beevenom pharmacopuncture combining therapy are effective method for treating acne scars.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to report a case of idiopathic oculomotor nerve palsy improved by Korean Medicine therapy including needle-embedding therapy. Methods : We treated a 69-year old male patient who has Rt. ptosis, Rt. eye movement impairment, and dizziness with various Korean medical therapy including acupuncture, Bojungikgitanggami, and Hominis Placenta pharmacopuncture. To promote recovery, we additionally performed needle-embedding therapy to periocular acupoints. Results : Ptosis started to remarkably improve after performing needle-embedding therapy. After 54 days of treatment, ptosis and eye movement impairment of Rt. eye were significantly improved similar to the normal eye. Dizziness was cured in a few days after administration. Conclusions : This case suggests Korean medicine including needle-embedding therapy is effective against oculomotor nerve palsy symptoms especially for ptosis.

The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of Fire needling therapy in patients with a vertebral compression fracture. Three patients with a acute vertebral compression fracture were treated using Fire needling therapy. To evaluate the effectiveness of Fire needling therapy, we checked Numerical rating scale on a daily and Oswestry disability index on admission and discharge. Numerical rating scale decreased as the number of Fire needling therapy increased. Oswestry disability index on discharge improved compared to admission. The limitation of this study is the insufficient number of cases and outcome measurements. Further studies are needed to prove effect and safety.

Objectives : This report was performed to evaluated the treatment of Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion in herniation of inter-vertebral disc. Methods : We treated 1 case of herniation of inter-vertebral disc with Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion. Results : After 12 days of Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion, a remarkable improvement was made for herniation of inter-vertebral disc. The patient couldn't feel pain on walking. Conclusion : Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion were effective in reducing the symptoms.

Objectives : Hakomi therapy is a body-centered psychotherapy established by Ron Kurtz in the 80s. Here we introduce the clinical possibilities of application in Korean medicine through Hakomi therapy. Methods : At first, we present the definition, basic principles, terms and outline of Hakomi therapy in reference to "Body-centered psychotherapy The Hakomi Method," published by Ron Kurtz. Then we study the clinical application of Hakomi therapy on Korean medicine. Results : There are many similarities between Hakomi and Korean medicine, such as Mind-Body holism, organicity through homeostasis of living things, non-violent attitude of therapist like Tao, and emphasis on breathing by corresponding with Nature. Also, there are similarities in methods, such as Ohjisangseung, Iijungbyunqi, and Qigong. Hence, Hakomi therapy can be useful in Korean psychotherapy. Conclusions : If we can graft Hakomi therapy onto Korean psychotherapy, it will be efficacious for Korean psychotherapy to be systematized.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to evaluate clinical effects of Needle embeeding therapy on Chronic low back pain. Methods : The patients have been treated only with Needle embeeding therapy for once a week for 4 weeks. To estimate the efficacy of Needle embeeding therapy and functional changes of patients we have checked VNRS and ODI every week. Results : The Needle embedding therapy reduced VNRS and ODI score. Conclusion : The result suggests Needle embeeding therapy can be effective treatment on patients with Chronic low back pain.

This study reports the effectiveness of Korean medicine and Chuna manual therapy on patients with De Quervain's tenosynovitis. Two patients were treated with Chuna manual therapy, electro-acupuncture, moxibustion therapy. We used numeric rating scale (NRS), Finkelstein's test, sonography to measure changes during treatment. After each treatment, NRS, Finkelstein's test, sonography outcome were improved. Korean medicine including Chuna manual therapy can be effectively used to improve De Quervain's tenosynovitis. This study may suggest that korean medicine including Chuna manual therapy can be effective for De Quervain's tenosynovitis.

Micro needle roller therapy has been used for cosmetic purposes, such as reducing skin winkles and improving elasticity of skin. It is claimed that micro needle roller therapy has potentials for connective tissue regeneration by facilitating collagen synthesis. Therefore, there seems to be a possibility that connective tissue regenerating potential of micro needle roller therapy could influence the hair growth cycle. This study, we investigated the hair growth-promoting effects of micro needle roller therapy. C57BL/6 mice were devided into three groups as follows: normal saline-treated, minoxidil-treated, and micro needle roller therapy-received group. Hair growth activity was evaluated by handscopic and microscopic observations. Sections of dorsal skin were stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Expression of BrdU, FGF, and VEGF was detected by immunohistochemical staining. Micro needle roller therapy enhanced the development of hair follicle during anagen. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed that micro neeld roller therapy incresed the expression of BrdU and FGF in the hair follicles of C57BL/6 mice. Furthermore, micro needle roller therapy upregulated mRNA expression of VEGFR-2, FGF-2, EGF - growth factors that play a central role in hair follicle development during anagen. These results suggest that Micro needle roller therapy can potentially be used for the treatment of alopecia.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to report the effectiveness of TMJ balancing therapy and Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM) treatments on a thalamus cerebral infarction patient with hemiparesis and gait disturbance. Methods: The patient was treated with TMJ balancing therapy, along with korean herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and physical therapy. The motor function was evaluated through the Manual Muscle Test (MMT), Grasp power and Functional Ambulatory Category (FAC). And the daily life ability was evaluated by the Korean version of the Modified Barthel Index (K-MBI) and Korean National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (K-NIHSS). Results: After 17 days of TMJ balancing therapy and TKM treatments, the score of MMT did not improved, but the score of FAC, K-MBI, K-NIHSS improved. Conclusions: This study suggested that TMJ balancing therapy and TKM treatments could be effective for hemiparesis and gait disturbance in patients with thalamus cerebral infarction.
