  • This study purposes to identify how the 'selection' of library materials shold be changed in the electronic environment to improve library services fundamentally. The study scrutinized the essence of selection, the relationship between selection and collection management, and the results of various studies to define the selection. The study implies: 1) the selection must be changed to the function providing users with assessment information of library materials, which helps the users access to entire scholarly information. 2) the assessment information could be input from different libraries and used by all users connected to the library network.

  • This study aims to look at overall adolescents' and college students' perceptions of library and explore the sources and their related variables as well as find out related issues of perceptions of library and information use of them. The data for this study were collected through survey and analyzed descriptive statistics and correlation analysis using the data. The result shows the population users preferred search engine so much over library as their information search tool even if they trust library information sources more, also, they tend to seek information sources when it has easiness and fastness to get. Correlation analysis such as ${\chi}^2$ and Spearman were implemented and the result of the correlation shows that many factors of this study covered-such as comparison of information sources-have significant differences each other.

  • The specialized textbook library provides resources for textbook publishers and textbook development professionals as well as others in related fields who are committed to the educational development of our country. The textbook library also supports research and education among the faculty and students. But, when examining the reality of the textbook specialized library, analysis concludes that it faces various problems such as state-supported operating budget shortfalls, weakness of public infrastructure, difficulty in collection of textbook-related data, and lack of inter-linked library systems. Thus, this study determined the development direction of the textbook specialized library through the process of literature analysis, case studies, and reflection of expert opinions. In this study, a long-term policy direction of the building and operating of textbook specialized libraries has been proposed as follows: organizing and operating a textbook specialized library, collecting and creating a list of textbook-related information resources, creating information strategy, and constructing specialized content for the textbook specialized library.

Selection of the titles for investigation was made on the basis of the relative importance of the works confirmed after reading book reviews and examining a variety of bibliographies. Each title selected was examined in terms of its subject matter, contribution to the discipline it belongs, references cited, relations with similar works in the field, and bibliographic features. Published books, dissertations both published or not published, and periodicals are included. Primarily a critical review it is also designed to provide background information on the present status of Korean studies and the historical development of Western studies on Korea. • The library collects relevant documents, organizes these documents, retrieves and provides relevant documents, and helps the user use provided documents. These library activities are the distribution process of relevant documents in a society, and the role of library science is to deal with several problems in this process. This process is to facilitate the production of socially relevant documents, to select documents relevant to an individual user, and to enable the user to use the selected documents. As a result, this process should be based on the concept of "relevance". As a result, the academic role of library science should be considered based on "relevance". "Relevance" is getting more important to meet the change of the environment of library services, which is getting more complex and changing rapidly because of the computer and the computer network. It is true that these are very important tool for document distribution. However, the problems in the document distribution can not be solved only by the simple development of these tools because these have been caused by the simple development of these tools. These problems can be solved only through many studies of the user, which is the destination of document distribution, and through a n.0, pplying the results of these studies to designing these tools.dies to designing these tools.

  • Our understanding of how barriers to access systematically varies with the compositional and contextual characteristics of users is incomplete. Using a public university library in Ghana, this study assessed the heterogeneous barriers or constraints students encounter in accessing electronic resources based on their demographic and contextual attributes. A descriptive survey design was adopted and structured questionnaires were administered randomly to 558 students in the four constituent colleges of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Data were collected and analysed using SPSS and descriptive statistics were generated. The results revealed that students faced six key challenges in accessing electronic information resources in the library namely delays in download of information, poor internet connectivity, and limited accessibility of university portal, inadequate computers in the library, poor lighting and limited ancillary services (on the spot printing facilities), with differences based on gender, academic level, and college affiliation. Only 24% males and 26% females had no challenges or problems with delays in download of electronic information. About three-fourth of all users had poor internet connectivity and complained about inadequate computers associated with accessing electronic resources. 40% percent of undergraduate students in the Colleges of Education Studies, Agriculture and Natural Sciences, and Humanities and Legal Studies each encountered four to six simultaneous challenges. Irrespective of gender, first year undergraduate students in all the four colleges were the least likely to report multiple challenges. This suggests the need for targeted and context-specific interventions to address the identified challenges.

  • The Bavarian town of Regensburg was a library travel destination during the European Enlightenment. With at least 26 collections, the number and variety of its private, governmental, school, and religious libraries rivaled that of much larger cities and figured in the bibliographic travel accounts of Johann Keyssler, Christoph Nicolai, Carl Oelrichs, Filippo Argellati, Georg Zapf, Friedrich Hirsching, Adalbert Blumenschein, and many others. The first-hand descriptions of these repositories are unique primary sources for the study of library history. Having been accessible to researchers largely in published forms, many were designed to serve as bibliographic aids for informing scholars about the locations of specialized subject collections and some individual works. The journals, letters, guidebooks, and texts also reflected the evolving scholarly and scientific nature of their cultural period. Overall, this case study of Regensburg’s libraries illustrates the particular value of contemporary travel literature.
