This paper is concerned with the prediction of lift-off acoustic loads for a launch vehicle. Intense acoustic load is generated when a launch vehicle is lifted off, and it can induce vibrations of a launch vehicle which cause damage or malfunction of a launch vehicle and a satellite. Lift-off acoustic loads of NARO are predicted by the modified Eldred's second method and the result is compared with the measured data in flight test. The prediction shows similar peak and shape of spectrum to the test data, but some discrepancy can be observed due to the predicted margin. In order to reduce such discrepancy, the sound pressure levels with four source distribution assumptions are calculated. Also, the surface diffraction effects are considered in the predict ion of lift-off acoustic loads, and the predicted result is more similar to the test data.
At present, the ground anchor method is commonly applied to securing the slope stability in Korea. The ground anchor is reported to decrease in tensile load due to aging and environmental influences with time such as corrosion, relaxation, creep and so on. In Korea, the lift-off test is performed for the periodic inspection or cases when the symptoms of deterioration on anchors and the residual tensile load of the anchors is checked. However, the current lift-off test standard (MOLIT, 2010) is not fully specified in details. In this study, the factors affecting the lift-off test were investigated based on the previous research and foreign standards and lift-off tests were performed with consideration for the loading and unloading cycle, load increment method, and tensioning tendon method. Based on the results, this paper proposes improved testing and evaluation procedures of the lift-off test considering the workability and time limits in the field.
Lift off acoustic loads of KSLV-I were predicted by the modified NASA SP-8072 source distribution method (method 2) and the result was compared with those of measurements in the flight test of KSLV-I. In the second flight test, lift off acoustic loads were measured by outer microphones attached on the cable mast. The onboard data measuring outer acoustic pressure at the interstage of KSLV-I also can be obtained. The predicted result showed very similar peak and the shape of spectrum when compared with the measured spectrum and a margin about +7 dB.
This paper describes a durability characteristics of an air-lubricated bump foil journal bearing for high speed turbomachinerys at room temperature. At first, lift-off test and load capacity test were performed to understand the general characteristics of an air-lubricated bump foil Journal bearing. A 52 N weighted bump foil bearing sleeve was lilted off from a rotating Journal at about 3,000 rpm, and produced a load capacity of 500 N at an operating speed of 15,000 rpm. The next was 500 cycles lift-off test with an air-lubricated bump foil journal bearing that had a molybdenum disulfide(MoS$_2$) solid lubricant coated top foil. Data from measuring bearing torque and temperature and the observation of rubbing surfAce were included in results. Therefore the results of this work will aid in proving durability of air-lubricated bump foil journal bearings.

Estimated values for maximum lift coefficients of a light airplane, ChanGong-91, derived from an analytical method using a test database, a computational fluid dynamic method, a wind tunnel test, and a flight test are compared. The DATCOM method and VSAERO code are applied as the analytical method and the computational fluid dynamic method, respectively, in order to estimate the maximum lift coefficients of a light airplane. The wind tunnel test is conducted using a 1/14.5 scaled model installed in a closed circuit type wind tunnel. For the flight test approach, the wings-level power-off stall tests are performed to obtain the maximum lift coefficients. As a point of reference for the flight test results of the maximum lift coefficients, the differences of both estimates derived from the DATCOM method and the wind tunnel test data are smaller than those derived from VSAERO.

The numbers of the elder are rapidly growing who wants to enhance social activities, because Korea is already an aging society since 2000. The mobility and accessibility are the key issues to enhance them. The electric motor scooter and the power wheel chair are efficient movable means at a short range. It would be needed to get on and off them if the elder wants use them after arriving a long distant destination. But the electric scooter is too heavy for a man to get on and off a coach van. The motor winch lift is developed for the elder and the handicapped to get on and off a van easily. The lift consists of 3-linkage which can be installed in a trunk of a van with a small space. The clearance and stress of each component are checked by a computer simulation. The prototype was made. and the performances of safety and comfortableness were verified by operational ability test and durability test.

Intense acoustic load is generated when a launch vehicle lifts off, causing the damaging vibrations at the launch vehicle or satellite within the fairing. This paper is concerned with the prediction of lift-off acoustic loads for a launch vehicle. As a test example, the lift-off acoustic load on the Korean launch vehicle, NARO, is predicted by the existing calculation tool, the modified Eldred's second method. Although the acoustic sources, assumed as point sources, are to be located along the center line of the exhaust plume when using the Eldred's prediction method, the exact location of the deflected center line of exhaust gas flow is not usually known. To search for the most appropriate source positions, six models of source line distribution are suggested and the acoustic load prediction results from these models are compared with the actual measurements. It is found that the predicted sound pressure spectrum of the Naro is the most similar to the measured data when the centerline of the turbulent kinetic energy contour is used as the source line.

Purpose: This study examines the safety management of anchors that have already been constructed and evaluates the results of lift-off tests conducted at the site. The purpose of the project is to study countermeasures if necessary. Method: Compare the residual load gained after the lift-off test at 36 points behind the site with the preemptive load, allowable load, and design load. We also analyze stability through this and evaluate the stability of anchors. Results and Conclusion: The residual tension at 26 points remained stable. However, the residual load at 10 points was analyzed to be greater than the designed load and less than the allowable load, and it was evaluated as an instability that could cause fracture problems. Therefore, anchors with unstable conditions at 10 points should be monitored and monitored through periodic measurements and quality tests, and the anchor should be observed at the surrounding points as well as the relevant points to maintain stability.

Pb-free wave soldering process of AC Adapter was implemented by six sigma method using Sn-Cu-Ni type solder. The solder joint appearance, microstructural change, a lift-off phenomenon and reliability were evaluated through thermal shuck test. $(Cu,Ni)_6/Sn_5$-type intermetallic compound of which thickness is about 5 $\mu\textrm{m}$ was found at solder joint between Sn-Cu-Ni solder and copper land. After applying the thermal shock test of as-soldered product up to 750 cycles, no crack was fecund at the solder joint. The newly developed product was superior to conventional one in terms of productivity and reliability.
