Purpose - This study aims to identify the relationship between logistics companies' Logistics 4.0 technology adoption with logistics innovation capability and logistics performance, and analyze the mediating effect of logistics innovation capability and the mediated moderation effect of firm size through logistics innovation capability. Design/methodology - Research models and hypotheses were established based on prior research related to Industry 4.0, Logistics 4.0, logistics technology, logistics performance, and firm size. The survey was conducted on the employees of logistics companies, and exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, discriminant validity analysis, structural equation model analysis, mediation effect, moderation effect, and the mediated moderation effect analysis were performed. Findings - The adoption of Logistics 4.0 technology was found to significantly affect logistics innovation capability and logistics performance. Logistics innovation capability was found to significantly affect logistics performance. Moreover, logistics innovation capability was found to have a significant mediation effect on the relationship between Logistics 4.0 technology adoption and logistics performance. The moderation effect based on firm size was found to have a partial effect on logistics innovation capability and logistics performance, but the mediated moderation effect was not significant. Originality/value - This study is meaningful in that it empirically analyzed the relationship of Logistics 4.0 technology adoption with logistics innovation capability and logistics performance, the mediating effect of logistics innovation capability, the moderation effect of firm size, and the mediated moderation effect of firm size, which were not addressed in previous studies.

In this year(2006), the Korean government has announced the integrated logistics promotion act, to improve the international competitiveness of Korean logistics companies and to develop the north-east asia logistics hubs. Therefore, in this study, emphasized to goes forward better and presents integrated logistics industry expansive assignment through domestic logistics companies' problem and integrated logistics industry investigation of certification system as plan for successful fixing of integrated logistics industry for Northeast Asia logistics hub while strengthen international competitiveness of domestic professional logistics companies. So that the South Korea becomes Northeast Asia logistics hub country, to expand lacking logistics infra at good time is important, also, reform backward logistics system of consignor companies and advance actively to the Northeast Asia logistics market is very important to improve the professional logistics companies' upbringing to lead the Northeast Asia logistics market.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between logistics safety climate, logistics safety behavior, and logistics safety performance and the mediating effects of safety knowledge and safety motivation, and to suggest its strategic implications for the improvement of the logistics safety performance. Based on previous researches related to logistics safety, safety climate, safety knowledge, safety motivation, safety behavior and safety performance, research models and hypotheses were set up and questionnaires were conducted. For the hypothesis test, reliability analysis and validity analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation model analysis, and bootstrapping were applied. As a result of the empirical analysis, the logistics safety climate had a significant positive effect on logistics safety knowledge, logistics safety motivation, and logistics safety behavior, whereas logistics safety knowledge and logistics safety motivation had a meaningful positive effect on logistics safety behavior. Further, logistics safety behavior was found to have a significant positive effect on logistics safety performance. Safety behavior had a significant mediating effect, but safety knowledge and safety motivation did not. However, logistics safety climate, logistics safety knowledge, and logistics safety motivation did not have a significant effect on logistics safety performance.

In this paper, I investigated and analysed of the utilization of logistics information system in Korean firms - key factors of logistics management capacity, capacity of logistics information technology management, utilization of logistics information system and logistics outcome. I come to the conclusion that the higher firms are management capacity and capacity of logistics information technology management, the better firms utilize logistics information system, and the better these firms are logistics outcome, that is, the higher to promote logistics service and to reduce logistics cost.

To gain a national competitive advantage in Northeast Asia, Northeast Asia logistics hub strategy was undertaken by Korean Government. Korean Government had published Northeast Asian Logistics Hub Roadmap including the upbringing of total logistics providers to solve the high logistics cost which weakens the competitive advantage of Korean companies. To solve the high logistics cost, the Government had revised the Korean Physical Distribution Promotion Law for the introduction of certification system of the total logistics provider and enacted the Rules on the Certification of Total Logistics Provider and is going to introduce the certification system of total logistics provider. In this certification system, third party logistics related point is very high, the success in this certification system depends on the strategic alliances of the small and medium size logistics companies. The purpose of this paper is to study certification system of the total logistics provider and contribute to gain the competitive advantage of total logistics provider as global logistics provider.

Recently, third-party logistics and second-party logistics are well known as a form of logistics service. However, there are several opinions about the effectiveness of second-party logistics and third-party logistics. In this study, the efficiency of second-party logistics companies and third-party logistics companies, which are the main providers of logistics services, was compared and the sales impact on the logistics market was measured. Efficiency was measured using DEA's CCR and BCC models. Debt and equity were used as input variables, and sales, operating profit, and net income were used as output variables. As a result of measuring the efficiency of logistics companies, the efficiency of third-party logistics companies was higher than that of second-party logistics companies in 2019 and 2020, and it had a positive effect on the rate of change in sales.

Purpose - This study aims to examine the relationships between the acceptance of the 4th industrial revolution logistics technology, logistics safety behavior, and logistics safety performance, as well as the moderated mediating effects of logistics safety behavior through safety culture in Korea. Design/methodology - Research models and hypotheses were established based on prior research related to the 4th industrial revolution logistics technology, logistics safety, and logistics performance. The survey was conducted on the employees of logistics companies, and reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, discriminant validity analysis, structural equation model analysis, and mediating effect analysis were performed. In addition, the moderated mediating effect analysis applying SPSS Process Model No. 7 was conducted. Findings - Usefulness and sociality of the acceptance of the 4th industrial revolution logistics technology had a significant effect on logistics safety behavior. Ease of use, sociality, and efficiency had meaningful effect on logistics safety performance. And in the relationships between the acceptance of logistics technology and logistics safety performance, logistics safety behavior had a significant mediating effect. But the moderated mediating effect of safety behavior through safety culture was not significant. Logistics companies can improve logistics safety performance through the utilization of new logistics technologies such as intelligent logistics robots, autonomous driving technology, and artificial intelligence, etc. Originality/value - This is the first study to analyze the relationships between the acceptance of logistics technology in the 4th industrial revolution and logistics safety. In addition, previous studies analyzed mediating effects or moderating effects, but this is the first study to identify the moderated mediating effects of safety behavior through safety culture. In other words, it has originality in terms of research methodology.

This paper analyzes how levels of logistics standardization are related to logistics costs. The study surveyed ratios of standard pallet use in order to measure levels of firms' standardization in logistics management. Research focused on how firms' logistics costs were related to their levels of logistics standardization and ratios of standard pallet use. After measuring use of standard pallets and logistics costs, optimal levels of logistics standardization were estimated based on survey data. Logistics costs and standardization were more related to labor than to freight volume or export. Results indicated that firms could reduce logistics costs by raising levels of logistics standardization; optimal levels of standard pallet use out of Korean firms' total manufacturing cargo volume were estimated at 44.26% for multi-standard pallets and 57.99% for a single standard pallet (a unit load system). The study demonstrated that adopting a single standard pallet results in better cost saving logistics systems than use of multi-standard pallet types. These results may explain why firms pursue standardization in logistics systems.

Logistics industry still heavily relies on human labor in many field processes. However, robot applications in logistics are rapidly increasing, encouraged by technological progresses in robotics and cheaper robot solutions from competition between robot suppliers. Effectiveness of logistics automation are higher productivity for cost reduction and increased process capabilities for better profit, which is witnessed in many fields of logistics industry. In this paper, differences in logistics services - contract logistics, parcel, and fulfillment - are addressed, and characteristics and issues in application of various kinds of logistics robots such as AGV, AMR, ASRS, box/piece handling robots and robotic wearable devices are discussed. The advantages from flexibility and scalability of logistics automation by robots will benefit the future logistics business.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest strategic implications about empirical analysis with mediation effects of corporate image in terms of that relations between logistics culture safety, safety compliance and logistics performance of logistics companies. Research design, data and methodology: The structure and method of this research is organized with, first establishing hypothesis and research model based on previous study related to safety culture, safety compliance, corporate image, logistics safety and logistics performance, which has been carried out survey questionnaire to those who got involved in logistics businesses. Results: It is well justified that safety culture and safety compliance have significantly influenced to logistics performance as well as corporate images that is also revealed to have positive impact to logistics performance. With results verifying into mediation effects of corporate image, it is found that corporate image has partial mediation effects between logistics safety culture and logistics performance, and corporate image has full mediation effects between logistics safety compliance and logistics performance. Conclusions: In conclusion, it is strongly asked to make an aggressive efforts to safety compliance with necessity for spread of safety culture in level of enterprise. Planning the strategy and its implementation is required to secure safety in logistics process because both logistics performance and corporate image has positive influences by logistics safety.
