The purpose of this study is to analysis types of light and to find the characteristics of light in contemporary fashion design. In a scientific context, light is electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength that has the characteristics of straightness, reflection, refraction, scattering and diffraction. But in philosophical speculations, light has been used as a metaphor of 'being', 'to-be' or 'enlightenment.' And through the ages, people have tried to represent and apply the light into plastic art like painting and architecture. The types of light in fashion design was categorized as those; reflective light from the surface of clothing which is the result of interaction between illumination and material, representative light as the pattern of light or light effect such as sun or its rays and optical or psychedelic patterns, luminescent light from light emitting material like phosphorescence or LED which combines into fashion design, projective light from a medium to reveal virtual patterns on the surface or a fashion design itself using holography. These lights in fashion design can be considered as reflection of emphasis of sexuality, longing for fantasy and mystique, visualization of interaction and communication and groping for the play.
[ $SrTiO_3$ ]:Al, Pr red phosphors for FED were synthesized by solid state reaction method. The dependence of their luminescent properties on Sr and Al concentration was investigated. The $SrTiO_3$: Al, Pr phosphors showed the characteristic X-ray diffraction patterns of the perovskite structure. Photoluminescence intensity and lattice constant in $SrTiO_3$: Al, Pr phosphors changed in quite a similar manner with Sr concentration. Photoluminescence intensity increased with increasing lattice constant, and the decrease of photoluminescence intensity and lattice constant occurred in the vicinity of 1 mol Sr concentration.
In this paper, we have synthesized $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ nano phosphor particle using a low temperature solution-combustion method. We have investigated the structure and the luminescent characteristic as the sintering temperature and europium concentration. From XRD(X-ray diffraction) and SEM(scanning electron microscope) results, we have verified that the phosphor particle was fabricated a spherical shape with $30{\sim}40nm$ particle size. From the photoluminescence results, the strong peak exhibits at 611 um and the luminescent intensity depends on europium concentration. $Gd_2O_3:Eu$ fine phosphor particle has shown excellent luminescent efficiency at 5 wt% of europium concentration. The phosphors calcinated at $500^{\circ}C$ have possessed the x-ray peaks corresponding to the cubic phase of $Gd_2O_3$. As calcinations temperature increased to $700^{\circ}C$, the new monoclinic phase has identified except cubic patterns. From the luminescent decay time measurements, mean lifetimes were $2.3{\sim}2.6ms$ relatively higher than conventional bulk phosphors. These results indicate that $Gd_2O_3:Eu$ nano phosphor is possible for the operation at the low x-ray dose, therefore, the application as medical imaging detector.
Recently, synthesis of low-dimensional nanostructures is gaining more importance due to their structural properties and growing potential applications. On the other hand, luminescent materials doped with rare earth ions have drawn immense attention. The commercial phosphors are based on many host materials. Among them, tungstates are being currently investigated by many research groups owing to a wide range of applications. Tungstates are formed by different metal cations (e.g., SrWO4, Na2WO4, NiWO4, Cr2WO6, and ZrW2O8) and their structure depends on the size of the metal cation. Tungstates with large bivalent cations (${\gg}0.1\;nm$) have the scheelite structure and the wolframite structure with smaller ions (<0.1 nm). Strontium tungstate has the scheelite structure which is tetragonal with space group I41/a. The luminescent properties of the tungstate have been extensively explored in application fields such as sensors, detectors, lasers, photoluminiscent devices, photo catalysts, etc. In this work, we synthesized SrWO4 phosphors with different Eu3+ concentrations by using a facile route. The morphology was analyzed by using a field-emission scanning electron microscope, which exhibits the spherical shape. Transmission electron microscope image revealed the spheres composed of nanoparticles. X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed their tetragonal shape. The photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra were analyzed by varying the Eu3+ concentration, which shows a dominant red emission.
Well-crystallized $BaSi_2O_5:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor films were synthesized by heat treatment of spin-coated BaO:Eu on $SiO_2$ glass. We investigated luminescence-structure properties of these phosphor films as a function of heat-treatment temperature. From x-ray diffraction patterns, our $BaSi_2O_5:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor films revealed that (111)- and (204)-crystal planes of $BaSi_2O_5$ crystal were dominantly increased with an increase of heat-treatment temperature. Photoluminescence intensities of $BaSi_2O_5:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor films were increased with amount of these crystal planes. It can be explained that $Eu^{2+}$ ions were stably occupied at specific crystal orientation of $BaSi_2O_5$ crystal, enhancing the luminescent intensities of $BaSi_2O_5:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor films. In addition, our $BaSi_2O_5:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor films had transmittance of 70% at 510 nm,.due to the dense morphology and specific crystallinity of $BaSi_2O_5:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor films.
In semiconductor manufacturing, critical dimensions indicate the features of patterns formed by the semiconductor process. The purpose of measuring critical dimensions is to confirm whether patterns are made as intended. The deposition process for an organic light emitting diode (OLED) forms a luminous organic layer on the thin-film transistor electrode. The position of this organic layer greatly affects the luminescent performance of an OLED. Thus, a system for measuring the position of the organic layer from outside of the vacuum chamber in real-time is desired for monitoring the deposition process. Typically, imaging from large stand-off distances results in low spatial resolution because of diffraction blur, and it is difficult to attain an adequate industrial-level measurement. The proposed method offers a new superresolution single-image using a conversion formula between two different optical systems obtained by a deep learning technique. This formula converts an image measured at long distance and with low-resolution optics into one image as if it were measured with high-resolution optics. The performance of this method is evaluated with various samples in terms of spatial resolution and measurement performance.
ZnS:Mn yellow phosphors doped with Sm for white light emitting diodes were synthesized by solid state reaction method. These sample showed the characteristic X-ray diffraction patterns for main peak (110) of ZnS:Mn,Sm. Photoluminescence excitation spectra originated from $Mn^{2+}$ were ranged from 450 nm to 500 nm. The yellow emission at around 580 nm was associated with $^4T_1{\rightarrow}^6A_1$ transition of $Mn^{2+}$ ions in ZnS:Mn,Sm phosphors. The highest photolum inescence intensity of the phosphors under 405 nm and 450 nm excitation was obtained at Sm concentration of 1 mol%. The enhanced photoluminescent intensity in the ZnS:Mn,Sm phosphors was interpreted by energy transfer from Sm to Mn. The highest luminescent intensity of white LED was obtained at the epoxy-to-yellow phosphor ratio of 1:3. At this ratio, the CIE chromaticity of the white LED was X=0.3886 and Y=0.2928.
$(Zn_{1-x}Ca_x)_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphors doped with Ca were synthesized by solid state reaction method. $(Zn_{1-x}Ca_x)_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphors showed XRD patterns of Willemite structure. Also, $CaSiO_3$ structure and new peak near 610 nm in $(Zn_{1-x}Ca_x)_2SiO_4$:Mn with increasing value of x were observed from XRD and PL. The new peak near 610 nm in $(Zn_{1-x}Ca_x)_2SiO_4$:Mn with doping Ca was attributed to formation of $CaSiO_3$.
Trivalent rare-earth ($RE^{3+}=Eu^{3+}\;and\;Tb^{3+}$) ions activated $CaGd_4O_7$ phosphors were synthesized by a sol-gel process. After annealing at $1,500^{\circ}C$, the XRD patterns of the phosphor confirmed their monoclinic structure. The photoluminescence excitation spectra of $Eu^{3+}$ and $Tb^{3+}$ doped $CaGd_4O_7$ phosphor shows the broad-band excitations in the shorter wavelength region due to charge transfer band of completely filled $O^{2-}$ to the partially filled $Eu^{3+}$ ions and f-d transitions of $Tb^{3+}$ ions, respectively. The photoluminescence spectra show that the reddish-orange ions and green emission for $Eu^{3+}$ and $Tb^{3+}$ ions, respectively. Owing to the importance of thermal quenching property in the technological parameters, the temperature-dependent luminescence properties of these phosphors were measured for examing the suitability of their applications in the development of light emitting diodes (LEDs). In addition to those measurements, the cathodoluminescence properties were examined by changing the acceleration voltage and filament current. The calculated chromaticity coordinates of these phosphors were close proximity to those of commercially available phosphors for LED and field emission display devices.
