MP3폰이 카메라폰에 이어 휴대폰 시장의 차세대 주역으로 떠오르고 있다. 삼성전자, LG전자, 팬택, SK텔레텍 등 단말기 제조사들이 첨단기능을 갖춘 MP3폰을 선보이고 있다. 최근에는 이동통신사들도 가세해 MP3폰 이용자들을 위한 음악 서비스를 강화하고 나섰다. 이런 추세라면 기존 음악 시장을 주도하고 있는 MP3 플레이어를 대체할지도 모른다는 전망이 조심스럽게 나오고 있다.

This study focused on developing MP3 smart clothing products and usability evaluation. MP3 smart clothing which was developed in this study contains e-textile keypad and a kit. The kit consists of MP3 Player, remote controller module and ear phone, and are easy to assemble and dismantle. And usability evaluation about MP3 smart Clothing which was developed in this study contains e-textile keypad and a kit. For making the MP3 Smart clothing, e-textile signal line and keypad was developed and a metal connection ring also was manufactured to adhere closely e-textile signal line to keypad. The last products are two kinds of MP3 smart clothing, jacket style of MP3-YSJ(Yonsei Smart Jacket) and safari style of MP3-YSS(Yonsei Smart Safari). Then usability evaluation conducted two times about MP3 smart clothing developed. Usability evaluation is classified by a module evaluation and an item evaluation. The module evaluation measured external appearance, material, a music controller, an ear phone(or a mini speaker) and connector. The item evaluation measured social acceptance, feeling of wearing, utility, easiness of maintenance and safety. The module evaluation described totally positive results in the first usability evaluation about MP3-YSJ 1.0 and MP3-YSS 1.0. The item evaluation shows a lower score in the social acceptance, especially the easiness of connector maintenance and the social acceptance of music-controller in MP3-YSJ 1.0 and MP3-YSS 1.0. The second usability evaluation conducted with improved products by the first usability test results. Results from second item evaluation indicated needs to improve the easiness of connector & music-controller maintenance and the social acceptance of music-controller in MP3-YSJ 2.0. In MP3-YSS 2.0, the easiness of material management and the social acceptance of music controller & connector needed to improvement. In particular, users felt inconvenience in the social acceptance because of e-textile keypad arrangement. To outweigh this disadvantage, further study is needed about keypad interface of the music controller.

최근 저장 장치로 많이 사용되고 있는 IBM PC의 CD-ROM(Compact Disc Read Only Memory)과 MP3(MPEG-1 Layer Ⅲ Audio) 디코더 칩을 이용하여 PC 작동과 관계없이 독립적으로 작동하는 CD-ROM 기반의 MP3 Player를 구현하였다. 여기서는 CD-ROM의 규격과 CD-ROM에 사용되는 ATAPI(AT Attachment Packet Interface) Format, MPEG-1 Layer Ⅲ의 오디오 부분에 대하여 알아보고 MP3 디코더 칩을 사용하여 CD-ROM에서 읽은 MP3 데이터즐 재생하는 방법을 취하였다. 이리하여 PC 자체로 MP3를 작동시키는 부하를 경감시키는 효과를 얻었다.

MP3 audio format has good quality and high compression rate ; therefore, the use of MP3 format increases. The requirement of keeping the extra information such as author and lyrics in MP3 files increases. And the tagging systems designed to meet this requirement are suggested. ID3 vl tag and Lyrics3 v2 tag are two most widely used tagging systems. But ID3 vl tag and Lyrics3 v2 tag are the last things to arrive when the file is being streamed. Therefore, users cannot get the tag information until the entire audio file is downloaded. Moreover information synchronized with audio stream may lose its feature. In this paper, a system searching and playing audio files based on tag information in MP3 files is implemented. This system solves the problem that the tag information is ignored when an MP3 files is played on internet. An audio object is described in an XML document, and timing and synchronization between elements in that In document is provided in HTML+TIME style using XSL.

It is very important that design based on preference of consumers who continuously change. Therefore, the method that can decide on the design concept which a consumer can prefer in future points of time that a design is released is necessary. There may be various ways to decide a design concept, but trend analysis is one of the best ways to be able to satisfy consumer preference. The purpose of this study is to provide a process that can give a direction of MP3 player design oriented consumer emotion. For the purpose, we considered about trend analysis as the ways that can present the design direction that can grasp a change of continuous preference, and a consumer can prefer with early bases in future points of time of a consumer. In this empirical research, we decided on design elements and levels of the elements after collecting 228 MP3 players released from 2000 to 2007, and carried out trend analysis through homogeneity analysis by SPSS program. In the result, we knew that future consumers also will regard emotional experience consumption as important. So, MP3 player design will be developed into consumer emotion-oriented design. We predict 4 trends for a future MP3 player design. 1. Development of high-priced MP3 player with various multimedia functions. 2. Development of MP3 player with basic functions. 3. Development of new convergence products with MP3 function. 4. Development of new MP3 player based on flash memory. If designers can infer a future MP3 player design from this design trend results, the probability that can occupy competitive advantage in their competitions will be high. Therefore this study can be useful.

This study surveyed MP3 player usage and evaluated its effect on hearing thresholds in high school students. It is reported an increase in risk factors for hearing loss in adolescents that paralleled the increase in sales of MP3 players. A total of 538 students in two high schools in Gwangju province participated in this study. The students completed questionnaires about their MP3 player use and their pure tone hearing thresholds were tested at several frequencies. The questionnaire results indicated that 61.1%, of the students listened to music on MP3 players for more than one hour per day, 71.6% listened for four or more days per week, and 36.7% had listened for more than 3 years. Listening at a high volume of 60% of the maximum level was reported by 51% and they recognized having ear pains. The pure tone hearing threshold was found to be raised for the adolescents who had a long history of MP3 listening at high volume (p< 0.0001).

This study was aimed to investigate the effect of phyto-extract fermented mixture (MP119) on the male sexual functions. The MP119 was evaluated for anti-impotency and anti-hypertensive effects via ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) or PDE (phosphodiesterase) inhibition assay. $IC_{50}$ values of MP119 against ACE and PDE were 241.3${\pm}$35.5 ppm and 372.2${\pm}$33.8 ppm, respectively. To investigate the effect of testosterone expression by MP119, we performed cell media test using mouse Leydig-derived TM3 cells. Production of testosterone in TM3 cell was increased by MP119. Also, NO (nitric oxide) production of HUVEC (human umbilical vein endothelial cell) was increased when MP119 was added to the cultures. Forty male ICR mice were divided into 4 groups. MP119 was orally intubated for 7 days to group 1 and 3, and same volume of vehicle to group 2 and 4 as controls. After that, group 3 and 4 were intraperitoneally injected cadmium chloride at a single dose of 2 mg/kg. On the 8th experimental day, weights of testis, epididymis and seminal vesicle, number of sperm, concentrations of serum testosterone and cGMP were determined. The number of sperm, the concentrations of testosterone and cGMP were significantly increased in two experimental groups (group 1, 3). These results suggest that MP119 enhanced the sexual function of male mice, and could protect the sexual organs from the cadmium chloride as one of the endocrine disrupters.

본 연구는 기존의 미디어 연구 내에서 시각미디어에 비해 상대적으로 그 중요성이 간과되어 왔던 음악미디어에 대한 계보적 접근을 통해서 MP3의 사회문화적 의미를 고찰해보는 시론적 성격을 가진 연구다. 이러한 분석을 위해서 고립주의적인 미디어 연구와는 달리 미디어 사이의 상호관계적인 맥락에서 미디어를 파악하는 미디어 재매개 이론을 이론적 기반으로 해 MP3에 대한 분석을 시도한다. 이러한 연구의 결과로 본 연구에서는 음악미디어의 재매개 과정을 소리의 비매개성과 인터페이스의 하이퍼매개성이라는 이중 논리로 분석했다. 또한 음악미디어 재매개의 관행으로 이동성과 사사화라는 측면에서 MP3가 기존 음악미디어들이 가지고 있던 '이동성과 사사화'에 '밀도의 심화'를 가져왔다고 밝혔다. MP3의 시공간성은 음악미디어의 청각적 시공간성과 모바일 기기들이 가지는 모바일 시간성의 융합을 통한 '모바일 음악 시공간성'으로 개념화 했으며, MP3의 사회적 물질적 차원의 재매개를 통한 듣기 체계의 변화는 저작권 문제와 음악가들의 지위의 변화의 차원에서 고찰되었다.

In this paper we implement MP3 encoder based on integer operations. To implement MP3 encoder presented in ［1］, floating-point operations are required. But we devise an MP3 encoding method which is based on integer operations. To verify the method presented in this paper, we implement MP3 encoder using ARM processor. In this paper we present the method to change floating point operations into integer operations, and the ARM assembly programming technique to implement fast MP3 encoder. The MP3 encoder implement using integer processor consumes less power than the encoder implemented using floating-point processor. So the encoder implemented in this paper is suitable lot portable applications which requires low power consumption.

This study aimed to assess the skeletal age of skeletal maturational indicator (SMI) and middle phalanx of the middle finger (MP3) stages and to predict the SMI and MP3 stages corresponding to pubertal growth spurt in boys and girls respectively. The skeletal age was assessed from hand-wrist radiographs of 363 children (182 boys, 181 girls) aged 7 to 16 years by radiologists using the Korean standard bone age chart. Also, SMI and MP3 stages were evaluated from the radiographs. From these records, the mean skeletal age of SMI and MP3 stages was calculated. The stages including pubertal growth spurt were SMI 4 - 5, MP3 FG - G stages in boys and SMI 3 - 4, MP3 F - FG stages in girls.
