A Study on Microstrip Patch Array Antenna Integrated on SIW Network for SoS (SoS를 위한 SIW 망에 집적된 마이크로스트립 패치 어레이 안테나에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, We intended to design various things for the realization of SoS(System on Substrate) with SIW in 24GHz ISM 밴드(24-24.25GHz). As part of them, We integrated SIW, transition and MPAA as SoS on the same substrate and investigated its characteristics. We used Rogers Ro4350 with relative permittivity of 3.48 and thickness of 20mil. As results of optimal design, insertion loss of the SIW with 11.55mm length showed 0.32dB and insertion loss of 0.19dB occurred in transition to $50{\Omega}$ microstrip. Characteristics of the MPAA integrated on the same substrate as SoS are very similar to those of stand-alone MPAA. But the integrated MPAA decreased by 0.58dB in gain, which is the sum of SIW insertion loss and transition insertion loss, and by 0.7dB in SLL compared that of stand-alone MPAA. However, the bandwidth was increased by 19.4% as it changed from 670MHz to 800Mhz.

Characteristic Analysis of Meshed SF-MPAA Characteristics depend on Mesh Transparency (그물의 투명도에 따른 그물망 SF-MPAA의 특성 분석)

  • In this paper, We investigated the effects of the transparency variations from 0% to 90.7% on meshed SF-MPAA(Series Fed Microstrip Patch Array Antenna). For this, we designed SF-MPAA in 3 cases that is meshed radiation patches, meshed GND, and meshed radiation patches plus GND. And we investigated the characteristics of SF-MPAA depend on the variations of transparency in each case. In the case of meshed radiation patches, the gain decreased by 18.8% and the operating frequency is lower by 5.5%. In the case of meshed GND, the gain decreased by 15.4% and the operating frequency is lower by 5.56%. In the case of meshed radiation patches plus GND, the gain decreased by 31.94% and the operating frequency is lower by 7.6%. However, the bandwidth and the SLL(Side Lobe Level) did not show apparent tendency on the the variations of transparency.

  • In this paper, we investigated the characteristics of SF-MPAA depend on the structures of radiators when they were embroidered for realizing embroidered SF-MPAA. As increasing pitches by decreasing numbers of grids in length-direction and width-direction of the embroidered radiator the antenna gain and resonance frequency were trendingly decreased. However the characteristics of antenna were affected very much by the pitch in width-direction but affected relatively less by the pitch in length-direction. Therefore it was beneficial to decrease number of grids in length-direction to decrease conductor ratio. SLL was affected by the combination of length-direction pitch and width-direction pitch. The conductor ratio of embroidered radiator was determined by the ratio of pitch to embroidered thread thickness. When the ratio was less than 5 the conductor ratio was decreased rapidly. But when the ratio was larger than 5 the conductor ratio was decreased slowly and saturated.

  • 본 문에서는 Tschebyscheff 다항식 이론을 이용하여 상대적 전류 분포비가 1:2:2:1이 되도록 마이크로스트립 패치 어레이 안테나(MPAA) 설계 제작하였다. 지향성을 갖는 제안된 안테나는 작고 가벼우며 얇다. 또한 빔폭이 14。 인 어레이 안테나이고, 중심 주파수는 10.2553GHz이다. MPAA는 한 개의 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나(SMA:single microstrip antenna)특성과 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 MPAA는 SMA보다 보다 좁은 복사 전력 빔폭과 큰 최대 복사 전력 이득을 획득했다. PIN 다이오드를 이용한 위상 변환기를 적용하면 전자적 빔스케닝이 가능하고, 소형 레이더 시스템에 적합하다.

Comparison of Shear Bond Strength of Ceramic Fused to Ni-Cr and Co-Cr Alloy by Heat Treatment (도재용착용 Ni-Cr 합금과 Co-Cr 합금의 열처리에 따른 전단결합강도 비교)

  • Purpose: This study was to evaluate the shear bond strength of the ceramic fused to Ni-Cr alloy(Bellabond plus) and Co-Cr alloy(Wirobond C) by heat treatment. Methods: Metal specimens were divided into 5 groups for each alloy according to heat treatment conditions prior to porcelain application. Fifteen specimens from each group were subjected to a shear load a universal testing machine using a 0.1mm/min cross-head speed and one specimen from each group was observed with EDX line profile. Results: The diffusion of metal oxide observed far in the specimen heat treated than no heat treated in the opaque layer. The shear bond strength measured highest to BP3(50.50MPa), WC2(50.49MPa) groups and measured lowest from BP1(35.1MPaa), WC1(39.66MPa) groups which were not treated with heat, and there was a significant difference (p<0.05). Conclusion: The shear bond strength of Ni-Cr alloy(Bellabond plus) and Co-Cr alloy(Wirobond C) measured similar 5 groups all.

Comparisons of the Awareness of Domestic and Foreign Users for Illegal Downloading of Movie Content (영상 컨텐츠 불법복제에 관한 국내외 의식 수준 비교 연구)

  • The MPAA(Motion Picture Association of America) warned about serious problems of piracy due to nearly a quarter of all Internet traffic around the globe was related to Internet piracy. Thus, strong legal action is enforced for piracy over nationally through strengthen the copyright law. We in this paper conducted a survey to see whether netizens prefer to download just for the matter of their convenience. Our study becomes a motivation to consider about seriousness of piracy by comparing between Korea and foreign cases. To our surprise, the survey reveals that Korean netizens conspicuously aware of their downloading behaviors outpaces Canadian netizens. Canada lacks the basic protections for the digital environment and is a safe haven for Internet pirates.

Fabrication of Low Cost Radar Antennas using Two Receiving Antennas (두 개의 수신안테나를 이용한 저가 레이더용 안테나 제작)

  • In this paper, we fabricated transmitting and receiving antennas to realize the low cost radar using two receiving antennas and investigated their characteristics. The antennas are designed with MPA(Microstrip Patch Array) structure for the beam concentration in horizon direction and low cost and used Taylor array pattern synthesis to suppress sidelobes. As a results of measurement in the 24GHz ISM band(24.0-24.25GHz), our using band, antenna gains are placed between 15.2 dBi and 16.26 dBi which are satisfied with the design specification of higher than 15dBi and lower than 17dBi. The sidelobes are -13.15 dBc, -13.1 dBc and -12.8 dBc at the operating frequencies of 24.0 GHz, 24.125 GHz and 24.25 GHz repectively, which are satisfied with the specification of lower than -10 dBc.
