개인용 미디어 단말로서 MP3 플레이어는 이제 음악 파일을 감상하기 위한 일상 생활에서 중요한 휴대 필수품이 되었으며 단순히 음악을 재생하는데 그치지 않고, 각종 정보들을 표시하기 위한 작은 화면이 부착되고 있으며 더 나아가 이미지 정보나 동영상을 표현할 수 있는 기능들이 추가 되고 있다. 이처럼 변화하는 멀티미디어 서비스에 발맞추어 MPEG 에서는 Multimedia Application Format (MAF) (ISO/IEC 23000) 라는 새로운 표준안을 제안하였다. MAF 표준안의 기본 방식은 산업 현장 및 사용자의 요구에 빠르게 부응하기 위해, 기존에 존재하는 표준안들을 결합시켜 새로운 멀티미디어 파일 포맷을 정립하였다. 그 첫 번째 결과물로서, 이미 널리 쓰이고 있는 MP3 파일 포맷에 새로운 기능을 추가하기 위한 Music Player MAF 포맷의 FDIS 가 제안되었다. Music Player MAF 는 MPEG-1 Audio Layer III(MP3) 와 MPEG-7 MDS 메타데이터 정보를 결합한 파일 포맷으로. 기존 ID3 태그에서 표현되는 정보 보다 훨씬 풍부한 메타데이터 정보와 더불어 선택적으로 하나의 JPEG 이미지를 포함한 형태로 이루어져 있다. 그러나, 현재의 파일 포맷은 시간이 고려되지 않은 하나의 JPEG 이미지만을 포함할 수 있기 때문에, 오늘날 사용자가 요구하는 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하기에는 많은 한계점을 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Music Player MAF FDIS 에 제안된 세가지 형태의 Music Player MAF 파일 포맷에 관해 기술 한다. 복수의 JPEG 이미지 및 텍스트를 저장하기 위하여 각각의 파일 포맷이 갖는 문제점을 언급하고 하나 이상의 JPEG 이미지와 자막 정보를 MP3 음악 정보와 동기화 시켜 추가 할 수 있는 기능을 추가를 제안한다. 또한 제안된 파일 포맷을 쉽게 생성할 수 있도록 기존의 XMT-O 스키마를 기반으로 MAF 를 위하여 새롭게 MAF XMT 스키마를 정의하고 정의된 스키마를 기반으로 구현된 Music Player MAF 의 저작툴과 제안된 확장 뮤직 플래이어 MAF 을 위한 재생툴을 구현한다.

MPEG 그룹에서는 현재, MPEG-A(IS0/1EC 23D00)라는 새로운 국제 표준에 대해서 활발하게 논의하고 있다. MPEG-A메서는 사용자가 멀티미디어 데이터를 더욱 효율적이고 편리하게 관리할 수 있도록 하기 위해, MAF(multimedia Application File format)라는 새로운 멀티미디어 파일 포맷을 제안하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-A에서 제안하고 있는 MAF포맷을 기반으로 한 멀티미디어 검색 시스템이 가져야 할 요구사항들을 정의하고, 그 요구사항을 바탕으로 한 MAF 멀티미디어 검색 시스템을 설계하였다.

Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) Multimedia Application Format (MAF) [3] specify how to combine the variety of DMB contents with associated information for a presentation in a well-defined format that facilitates interchange, management, editing, and presentation of the DMB contents. The current metadtata specification for DMB MAF [3] is based on TV-Anytime metadata tools. In this paper, we overview the general application scenarios of DMB MAF and then explore the TV-Anytime metadata tools and usage examples proposed for DMB MAF.

본 논문은 친환경 운전(Eco Driving)에 대한 사회적, 기술적 관심이 고조되고 있는 현 상황에서 차량에서 제공하는 차량 정보 가운데 MAF 센서 값을 이용하여 차량의 주행 연비를 추정하고자 하였다. MAF는 화학반응에서 연료 1g당 혼합되는 공기의 양을 의미하며, g/s의 단위를 사용한다. 휘발유 차량의 경우 엔진 ECU에서 폐회로 제어를 통해 혼합비를 14.7:1로 일정하게 유지하는 동작을 수행하므로 우리는 MAF 값을 통해 차량의 주행 연비 추정이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 국내에서 생산중인 차종들에 대해 MAF 값을 이용한 실제 주행 테스트 수행하였으며, 이에 대한 연비 결과를 종합적으로 비교 분석하였다.

Serum samples of 30 chickens per flock from 6 grand parent stock (GPS) farms and 70 parent stock (PS) farms were collected for seroprevalent study of pullorum disease-fowl typhoid (PD-FT) infection by serum plate agglutination test (SPA). The incidence of PD-FT infection in GPS flocks and PS flocks were 0% and 15.7%, respectively. Especially PS flocks infected with PD-FT showed age dependent patterns that 22.2% of flocks between 20 to 30 weeks of age and 38.9% of flocks between 30 to 40 weeks of age were positive. The incidence of GPS flocks and PS flocks using Salmonella (S.) gallinarum 9R (SG9R) live vaccine were 33.3% and 58.6%, respectively. The sero-positive rate of 11 flocks were 6.7-83.3% by SPA and 2.9-55.6% by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and ELISA showed more lower antibody levels than SPA. Furthermore, specific antibodies produced by SG9R vaccination were detectable by SPA using SG9R antigen without cross-reaction with the PD-FT infection.

디지털 멀티미디어 방송(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting :DMB)는 디지털 라디오 방송 시스템에 기반으로 한 최초의 휴대용 TV 서비스이다. 최근 제 78차 MPEG 회의에서 DMB 콘텐츠에 대한 멀티미디어 응용 포맷으로 DMB MAF에 대한 논의가 진행되었다. DMB MAF는 DMB 콘텐츠에 대한 ISO 파일 포맷을 기반으로한 DMB 단말기 간의 상호운영성의 지원 및 저장을 지원하기 위한 파일포맷이다. 본 논문에서는 DMB MAF를 위한 MPEG-21 IPMP 및 REL을 이용한 보호관리 기술에 대해 설명한다.

In this paper we propose an integrated media format for a photo album including media resources and corresponding meta-data The main purpose of the integrated media is to be more reusable meta-data and to facilitate constructing a photo album from a large number of photo images as well. The proposed media format is based on MAF(multimedia Application Format) which is recently going on progress in MPEG standards. In this paper, we propose the integrated media consisting of JPEG data and content-based meta-data based on MPEG-7 MDS. We verified the usefulness of the proposed media through experiments with implementation of encoder and photo MAF player for the MAF-based media format.

The Modified Aerosol Factor (MAF) derived from spectral Single-Scattering Albedo (SSA) values was created to express the light absorption properties according to aerosol types. As a factor of the MAF, slope of a linear regression line for SSA at four wavelengths shows positive value for dust aerosol, while negative values were found for mixing with other types of aerosol. The negative values were shown by anthropogenic and smoke aerosols. The modified SSA at 1020 nm was also calculated. MAF was calculated by summing the slope and modified SSA. MAF was -1.0 for the anthropogenic and smoke aerosol and 1.5 for the dust particles. Those values were decreased by increasing light absorption property.
