Analysis of Overviews of Working Environment Measurement and its Results in Korean Industry (우리나라 사업장의 작업환경측정 및 노출기준 초과실태 분석)

  • The subject of this study was to analyse overviews of companies which exceed TLV by industry, hazardous factors, and to estimate the numbers of companies measured in 1993 and the implementation rate of working environment measurement by the act of industrial safety and health The result of this study was as follow. 1. The number of cases which exceed TLV was 5,937 companies. In distribution of excess companies by the scale of workers, small scale cases under the 49 workers were 3,150 companies(53.0%) of total cases, medium scale cases between 50 - 299 workers were 2,248 companies(37.9%), and large scale cases over 300 workers were 539 companies(9.1%). By the industry of excess companies, it was marked high rate in manufacture of fabricared metal products(except machinary and equipment), manufacture of textiles of each 1,048 companies(17.7%), and 1,018 companies(17.1%). By the area of excess companies, it was shown high rate in Kyeongki area marked 1,679 companies(28.3%) and Daegu-Kyeongbuk area were marked 1,417 companies (23.9%). By the hazardous factors of excess companies, noise was recorded high rate in 5,160 companies (86.9%), dust was shown in 1,245 companies(21.0%), organic solvent was marked 130 companies(7.9%). The number of excess factors by the company was 1.2. In this result, the more it was bigger scale companies, the more excess factors were much more and the more it was recorded higher rate in noise organic solvent heavy metals, etc. 2. The measured cases in institutes during 1994 were 1,596 companies, and excess cases were 157 companies(9.8%) among them. By the scale of workers, small scale cases under the 49 workers were 190 companies (17.9%) among 1,064 companies, cases of medium scale cases between 50-299 workers were 127 companies (27.9%) among 463 companies, and large scale cases over 300 workers were 31 companies(44.9%) among 69 companies. In this result industry of the highest rate shown was manufacture of basic metals in 20 companies exceeded among 53 companies (37.7%), and was manufacture of pulp, paper production in 14 companies exceeded among 40 companies(35.0%), and the excess rate were high in bigger scale. 3. Companies estimated by the data of excess cases and excess rate in 1993 were 30,474 implementation rate estimated for measurement of working environment was 34.3% of companies in korean industry. In this result, it was comparatively shown of measurement rate for the working environment in manufacture of pulp, paper product, manufacture of machinary and equipment n.e.c., and of high measurement rate and excess rate in manufacture of electrial machinary and apparatus, and manufacture of basic metals.

Determinants of Debt Policy for Public Companies in Indonesia

  • This research seeks to determine the influence of investment opportunity set (IOS); profitability (Return on Assets - ROA), liquidity, business risk and firm size on debt policy. We used 42 manufacturing companies registered on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (Bursa Efek Indonesia) as object research. We used purposive sampling method to determined samples, consider the period observation from 2012 to 2016, and produce 168 units analysis. Data analysis uses the multiple regressions with the SPSS tools. The results of the study found that companies' debt policies in Indonesia are negatively affected by the liquidity. Investment opportunity set (IOS) has negative effect on debt policy. Meanwhile, ROA, Return on Invested Capital (ROIC), and firm size of a company has no impact on debt policy. These findings indicate that Indonesian manufacture companies do not see the high investment opportunity set and profitability as a policy basis for increasing debt. Moreover, the high profitability also does not cause companies to increase their debt ratio. Our study indicates that Indonesian manufacture companies use internal funds to fund their investment. This finding is a concern for creditors, as they can now see the ability of the companies, and especially their performance, in determining their credit policies.

  • Recently, SCM(Supply Chain Management) embraces the dynamic environmental changes of the participatory bodies in supply chain. Under this dynamic SCM environment, the selection of supplier and outsourcing company is very important. In their selection, the productivity and expertise of suppliers and outsourcing companies are, of course, to be considered as important factors, but whether or nottheycanmeettheduedateisacritical factor. In particular, this is true because an order-based manufacture ought to have CTP(Capable To Promise). For this purpose, by capitalizing onthevirtualmanufactureundertheSCM, this paper has tried to suggest a new agent system for the selection of supplier and outsourcing company. While performing virtual manufacture based on the integration scheduling, this system acquires the production environment and scheduling information of both suppliers and outsourcing companies on a real-timebasis,thusmakingintegrationschedulingpossible. Also, in order to provetheviabilityofthisstudy,thispaper has selected a specific domain and applied it.

제약산업 R&D 투자 효과분석

  • In general, manufacture of medicine has demerit of long period in investment effect, high risk, expensiveness through new drug development. At empirical test, R&D investment for new drug development positively affects on profit in manufacture of medicine. In Korea, effect on R&D investment in manufacture of medicine occur faster than previous period. Manufacture of medicine is value added industry, compared to other industries. Moreover, U.S & Japan in R&D expenditure on sales respectively has 10.1%, 8.07%. This is 3-4 times, compared to R&D expenditure on sales of Korea. Conclusionally, the importance of R&D investment increase more and more in future. So, manufacture of medicine and Companies related this will care for R&D investment.

  • Exosome, a type of nanoparticles also known as small extracellular vesicles are gaining attention as novel therapeutics for various diseases because of their ability to deliver genetic or bioactive molecules to recipient cells. Although many pharmaceutical companies are gradually developing exosome therapeutics, numerous hurdles remain regarding manufacture of clinical-grade exosomes for therapeutic use. In this mini-review, we will discuss the manufacturing challenges of therapeutic exosomes, including cell line development, upstream cell culture, and downstream purification process. In addition, developing proper formulations for exosome storage and, establishing good manufacturing practice facility for producing therapeutic exosomes remains as challenges for developing clinical-grade exosomes. However, owing to the lack of consensus regarding the guidelines for manufacturing therapeutic exosomes, close communication between regulators and companies is required for the successful development of exosome therapeutics. This review shares the challenges and perspectives regarding the manufacture and quality control of clinical grade exosomes.

  • Nowadays, various sides such as political, economical, technical and social sides of the companies' environment are changed rapidly. Such changes could provide a risk on one hand and a good chance on the other hand to the companies. Only one that has quick self-adaption can survive such kinds of challenges. Thus, from now on, profitable survival of a company depends on how fast they can adapt for the changes.   • In this paper, arbitrary pulse power for electro chemical etching, which manufactures the groove of fluid dynamic bearing and aero dynamic bearing, is presented. For high precision manufacture, we generally use high precision CNC machine. However, this case has the disadvantage that cost is very expensive and bur due to bites of tool can be generated. So most of companies are interested in the method of electro chemical etching. But for more precision results, it is important to decision the parameters of electrical conditions, such as currents and frequency. We designed and made the arbitrary pulse power system easy to input the parameters for optimal conditions. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the system strategy proposed for the high precision manufacture.

  • This study explores the retail environment factors of the changes mentioned in the "Factors and Directions of the Change of the Apparel Retail Structure in Korea" (Part I) to understand the changes in apparel retail institutions. This study was done through a literature research method and the results are as follows. First, changing consumer needs and trends require extensive new products, a method to manufacture diverse products according to the market demand, and the necessity to manufacture based on trends in demand. This limits the role of mass production, which brought about more flexible manufacturing modes, scaled down manufacturing factories, promoted more cooperative subcontract relationships, and increased global sourcing which uses other companies at the most appropriate global venue. How to organize and use cooperative networks that benefit companies is the key to global competitiveness in the new era and the information technology developed around retail shops plays a key role. Consequently, the management of consumers and their information becomes critical and retail distribution functions become a key corporate function. In addition, it is difficult for small shops to introduce effective new technologies that encourage the growth of large companies. Second, apparel companies that use to benefit from scale merits based on the previous mass production system are now becoming effective by using economies of scale through mass retailing while shops are enlarging their sizes as a way to survive. On the other hand, inexpensive clothes become even more inexpensive while expensive ones become even more expensive, promoting polarization and diverse price ranges that widen consumer options.

Status and Trends of Packaging Industry in Korea (국내 패키징 산업 현황과 방향)

  • This study was conducted in 2005 to investigate the current status of total packaging industries in Korea. The trends in development of the packaging industry were observed and interpreted as several factors such as the number of packaging industries, the number of employee in packaging industries, size, employee salary, and locations of packaging industry. The number of companies showed the increase of 6.3% per year until 2002 compared to 2175 companies at packaging industry in 1991. Based on the data of the number of companies to produce packaging materials, the packaging companies for plastic, metal, and wood were rapidly increased up to over 9%, whereas the glass and paper companies were only increased in 2%. The number of paper, plastic, wood, and packaging machine companies located at Seoul in 2002 was showed the great reduction, except to glass company compared to the number of the packaging industries in 1993 according to location of the company. Value added per employee in total packaging material industries were showed about 53-thousand dollars in 2002. These values were showed about 64.5% for total manufacture industries and increased to 8.1% from 1991 to 2002.
