고속도로 최대통과교통량 산정 및 서비스수준 평가 기법 개발 (Development of Capacity Analysis Procedure for Freeway Facility System)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 고속도로 교통운영상태 분석과 이로부터 도출된 하나의 평가척도(평균통행속도)에 의해 서비스수준평가 방법론을 구축하는 것이다. 본 연구는 고속도로를 분석하기 위해서는 고속도로의 어느 구간에서 정체가 발생될 것이며, 발생된 정체의 영향은 어느 정도가 될 것인가를 파악하는 것이 우선되는 과제라는 관점에서 출발하였다. 따라서 고속도로 상에서 발생되는 정체를 유형화하였고(이는 곧 잠재적 병목구간 및 병목구간에서 발생되는 정체메커니즘의 유형화를 의미한다), 이를 통해 병목구간의 수요교통량에 따른 최대통과가능교통량 및 최대통과교통량의 산출을 통해 정체류 분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구가 기존의 연구들과 구별되는 가장 큰 특징들 중의 하나는 병목구간의 용량으로 볼 수 있는 최대통과가능교통량(정상류에서의 용량) 및 최대통과교통량(정체류에서의 용량)이 기존의 용량개념과 같이 불변의 값이 아니고 수요교통량에 따라 변하는 가변적 용량이라는 점이다. 따라서 정체의 유형화와 가변적 용량 개념의 도입을 통해서 본 연구를 통해 구축된 고속도로 운영상태 분석 방법론은 고속도로 기하구조 조건에 의해 결정되는 물리적 병목구간에만 국한하지 않고 잠재적 병목구간(사고 및 공사 등의 돌발상황 발생구간 뿐만 아니라, 진출 연결로의 대기행렬이 본선으로 넘치는 분류부 등)에 대해서도 수요교통량에 따른 정체류 분석이 가능하였다.

  • The experimental and numerical study has been conducted on the sleeve repair welding of API 5L X65 pipeline. SMA W and GTAW were applied to weld the sleeve. The macrostructure and hardness of repair welds have been examined. The [mite element analysis of the multi-pass sleeve-fillet welding has been conducted to validate the experiment and investigate the effects of in-service welding conditions. The effect of gas flow rate on the hydrogen cracking was investigated. The effect of internal pressure on residual stresses and plastic strain was investigated. The allowable heat input was predicted considering the maximum temperature of inner surface of pipe and cooling rate at CGHAZ.

Discrete-Time Queuing Analysis of Dual-Plane ATM Switch with Synchronous Connection Control

  • In this paper, we propose an ATM switch with the rate more than gigabits per second to cope with future broadband service environments. The basic idea is to separate the connection control flow from the data information flow inside the switch. The proposed switch has a dual-plane switch matrix with the synchronous control algorithm. The queuing behaviors of the proposed switch are shown by the discrete-time queuing analysis. Numerical analyses are taken both in the non-blocking crossbar switch and the banyan switch with internal blocking. Results show that a proposed dual-plane $16{\times}16$ switch would have the acceptable performance with maximum throughput of about 95 percent.

  • 일반적으로 도로시설의 기본구간에 대한 서비스수준(LOS)의 효과척도로 밀도가 사용되지만, 도로시설의 현장에서 관측된 관측밀도와 교통특성자료로부터 산정된 산정밀도사이에는 오차가 발생할 수 있기 때문에 도로시설의 서비스수준을 제대로 나타낼 수가 없다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 연구대상 도시고속도로의 본선구간 상에 관측기기를 설치하여 실시간의 교통특성 자료(교통량, 속도, 점유율, 차두시간, 차두거리 등)를 수집 조사하고, 수집 조사된 교통특성자료의 상호관계로부터 연구대상 기본구간 상의 최대 교통류율을 비교 분석하며, 비교 분석된 최대 교통류율을 중심으로 각 서비스수준별 점유율과 v/c비율사이의 관계에 기초하여 도시고속도로의 기본구간에서 서비스수준의 평가기준을 산정 평가하고자 하는데 있다.

Column Removal of Trichloroethylene and Dichloromethane using Low Cost Activated Carbon

  • Coconut shell activated carbon (CSAC) was investigated for its ability in the removal of two neutral chlorinated organic compounds, namely trichloroethylene (TCE) and dichloromethane (DCM) from aqueous solution using a packed bed column. The efficiency of the prepared activated carbon was also compared with a commercial activated carbon (CAC). The important design parameters such as flow rate and bed height were studied. In all the cases the lowest flow rate (5 mL/min) and the highest bed height (25 cm) resulted in maximum uptake and per cent removal. The experimental data were analysed using bed depth service time model (BDST) and Thomas model. The regeneration experiments including about five adsorption-desorption cycles were conducted. The suitable elutant selected from batch regeneration experiments (25% isopropyl alcohol) was used to desorb the loaded activated carbon in each cycle.

An Experimental Investigation on the Contamination Sensitivity of an Automotive Fuel Pump

  • This study addresses the contamination sensitivity test of a typical fuel pump for an automotive vehicle. The objective of the study is to find the contamination sensitivity coefficient of a fuel pump on specific contaminant particle sizes so that an optimal fuel filter could be selected. To achieve the objective, the degradation of discharge flow rate of the fuel pump is measured under the experiments of various contaminants size ranges of ISO test dust up to $80\;{\mu}m$. The fundamental theory of contamination sensitivity is introduced and the contamination sensitivity coefficients are estimated using the experimental data. Maximum contamination sensitivity coefficient of $5\chi\;10^{-6}\;L/min{\cdot}Ea$ is found in the contaminant size range of $40\;{\mu}m\~50\;{\mu}m$. The magnified picture of the surface of vane disc reveals that the abrasive wear is the principal cause of discharge flow rate degradation. Hence, this study reveals that a high efficiency filter for contaminant particles especially in the size range of $30\;{\mu}m\~70\;{\mu}m$ especially should be used to maintain the service life of the fuel filter.

  • ABR(Available Bit Rate) 서비스는 ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode)망에서 guranteed 서비스에 의해 사용되고 있지 않는 여분의망 자원을 보다 효율적으로 사용키 위해 최대 전송률이 높고 burst한 특성을 지닌 응용들을 best effort 형태로 지원해주는 서비스이다. ATM 망에서 ABR 흐름제어를 위해 사용되는 스위치는 폭주상태 정보만 제공하는 EFCI(Explicit Forward Congestion Indication)스위치와 fair rate를 source에게 제공하는 ER(Explicit Rate)스위치로 구분할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 ATM망에서 ABR 서비스를 위하여 EFCI 스위치와 ER 스위치가 ATM망에서 혼용되어 사용될 경우 ABR트래픽을 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 스위칭운용기술에 대해서 분석하였다.

A MULTIPATH CONGESTION CONTROL SCHEME FOR HIGH-QUALITY MULTIMEDIA STREAMING

  • As network adaptive streaming technology becomes increasingly common, transport protocol also becomes important in guaranteeing the quality of multimedia streaming. At the same time, because of the appearance of high-quality video such as Ultra High Definition (UHD), preventing buffering as well as preserving high quality while deploying a streaming service becomes important. The Internet Engineering Task Force recently published Multipath TCP (MPTCP). MPTCP improves the maximum transmission rate by simultaneously transmitting data over different paths with multiple TCP subflows. However, MPTCP cannot preserve high quality, because the MPTCP subflows slowly increase the transmission rate, and upon detecting a packet loss, drastically halve the transmission rate. In this paper, we propose a new multipath congestion control scheme for high-quality multimedia streaming. The proposed scheme preserves high quality of video by adaptively adjusting the increasing parameter of subflows according to the network status. The proposed scheme also increases network efficiency by providing load balancing and stability, and by supporting fairness with single-flow congestion control schemes.
