  • In this paper, we studied the effects of mold temperature on the microstructure of injection molded parts. The weld line decreases in length and width as mold temperature increases. We investigated the dimensional stability of the parts made of two kinds of resin(polypropylene and polystyrene) by varying the mold temperature. As the mold temperature is high, both the shrinkage ratio and the thickness difference for the PS parts decreases. But the observation of PP parts shows a tendency to increase. The easiness of cavity filling and transcription of the mold texture is improved as the mold temperature is high.

  • Pressure and temperature in the cavity of injection molding have been investigated. Special injection mold was designed to install pressure and temperature sensors. The sensors were supplied by KISTLER and the pressure and temperature were measured for various operational conditions, such as injection pressure, holding pressure, cooling time, mold temperature, and injection temperature. As injection pressure increased cavity pressure and temperature increase. There were no big differences in temperatures according to the holding pressures. As mold temperature increased pressure and temperature in the cavity increase. The flowability of resin increases as mold temperature increases subsequently the pressure in the cavity increases since the pressure loss is less in the low viscous medium than high ciscous medium. The cavity temperature highly depends upon mold temperature.

  • The temperature distribution and lifetime of molds were predicted by computer simulation analysis with various spraying and blowing process of high pressure die casting. After varying the spraying angle and time, the mold temperature, heat exchange and mold life were predicted. As the spraying angle increases, the maximum temperature of the mold decreases, which is because the spraying area increases and the heat exchange with the mold increases. Heat exchange occurs more actively in the blowing process than in the spraying process. This is because the cooling is not performed due to the steam generation. When the spraying angle is 50 degree, the minimum life of the mold is analyzed 200 times. After adjusting the blowing time from 5s to 3s, the minimum lifetime of the mold has been increased almost twice.

  • In order to make 3-D glass from 2-D glass for mobile device windows, a mold is used for heat forming. In this process, the temperature of the glass is very important. However, measuring the temperature of the glass inside the mold is very difficult owing to the mold structure and the high temperature. The purpose of this study is to measure the temperature inside the mold by using Process Temperature Control Rings (PTCR) and to compensate for temperature differences in the heat forming machine and inside the mold. The measuring method uses the ceramic material's shrinkage characteristics, which makes it possible to measure the temperature inside the mold at various locations.

  • These are many kinds of self-hardening methods for sand mold using sodium silicate. When sodium silicate solution is mixed with calcium-orthosilicate powder hardening reaction occurs, which is based for self-hardening method at high temperature. The high temperature strength and resicual strength of mold are related to the mole ratio of sodium silicate and the contents of calcium-orthosilicate powder. The results obtained in this study were as follows: 1) The high temperature strength of mold was maximum at about $600^{\circ}C$, and at higher temperature showed lower value on the contrary. 2) The high temperature strength of mold was increased by increasing the amount of sodium silicate having lower mole ratio and high concentration. 3) The residual strength of mold was reduced by increasing the mole ratio of sodium silicate and increasing the concentration of calcium-orthosilicate.

  • The mold transformers have been widely used in underground substations in large building and have some advantages in comparison to oil-transformer, that is low fire risk, excellent environmental compatibility, compact size and high reliability. In addition, the application of mold transformer for outdoor is possible due to development of epoxy resin. The mold transformer generally has cooling duct between low voltage coil and high voltage coil. A mold transformer made by one body molding method has been developed for small size and low loss. The life of transformer is significantly dependent on the thermal behavior in windings. To analyse winding temperature rise, many transformer designer have calculated temperature distribution and hot spot point by finite element method(FEM). Recently, numerical analyses of transformer are studied for optimum design, that is electric field analysis, magnetic field, potential vibration, thermal distribution and thermal stress. In this paper, the temperature distribution of 50 kVA pole mold transformer for power distribution are investigated by FEM program and the temperature rise test of designed mold transformer carried out and test result is analyzed compare to simulation data. In this result, the designed mold transformer is satisfied to limit value of temperature and the other property is good such as voltage ratio, winding resistance, no-load loss, load loss, impedance voltage and percent regulation.

  • Temperature variation happens in micro prism roll mold processing system during machining the prism pattern roll mold using manufacturing optical films of LCD (liquid crystal display). This temperature variation induces pitch errors of the prism patterns. The temperature variation displaces the positions of the diamond cutting tool on the roll which was coated by the copper. In order to prevent the pitch errors, the stabilizing the temperature of machining environment is needed. Therefore, the researching on the temperature variation of the ultra-precision roll mold processing system on the machining of micro prism rot 1 mold is needed. In this paper, the temperature variation of micro prism roll mold processing system is researched, the influence is analyzed, and the study for reducing the pitch errors carried out.

  • In this study, experimental work was performed to mold tensile specimens by using the injection molding machine. Melt temperature, mold temperature and the mixed ratio of recycled resin were selected as processing parameters for studying the effect of those conditions on the shrinkage, weight, absorption, and tensile strength of molded parts. As a result, the shrinkage was increased according to the higher mold and melt temperature and it was more sensitive to the change of mold temperature. On the other hand, the weight of molded parts was decreased due to the increment of mold and melt temperature. Tensile strength was increased with mold and melt temperature, and it was also easy to change by mold temperature.
