Unlike nail care, nail art is a field with strong decorative elements that decorate the surface of the nail. In line with the trend of the times, which freely expresses one's personality, nail art is establishing itself as a definite and a key area in the beauty industry. Currently, design creation and technology developments are important, with the release of various nail materials and new trends that spread through mass media. Despite the great developments in the nail beauty industry, there is a lack for nail artists. Due to this fact, it is considered a necessary to combine nail art with the contemporary art styles, which have various motifs of design, and to study nail art design using them. In response, this study selected art from the Rococo era, where delicate and colorful decorative elements were at their peak, to consider the artistic styles of the time and present them in various nail designs. This study would like to expand the scope of new nail designs by suggesting colorful and feminine designs to women, who are the main customers of nail salon. In addition, the purpose of this study is to provide nail artists with basic materials that can be used in creative ideas and expressions, such as 2D and 3D nail designs, and composite nail design art, which are the art areas for nail art.

Nail art, which has been popularized recently, has increased convenience in the direction of nail art design harmonized with clothing and the increased interest and usage of nail art decoration. This study set out to propose practical planar and three-dimensional nail art designs in harmony with modern clothes by applying trimmings common in 18th century women's clothing, which used a variety of attachable decorations. As for the methodology, the investigator examined theories in previous studies, literature, and analyzed the types of trimming in female portraits from the 18th century at the museum at the Palace of Versailles in France. Planar and three-dimensional nail art designs were created for each of the top three trimming types- braids, laces, and ribbons, which were identified through analysis. The study applied the trimmings of the 18th century women's clothes to nail art design and had the following results: First, the top three trimming types were identified based on the analysis of the 18th century portraits. They were then used as motifs in the production of planar and three-dimensional nail art designs. The results show that the motifs of the clothes trimmings were fit for and had practical possibilities for expression in nail art designs. Secondly, diversity and the expansion of ideas in the study of nail art design were promoted. In addition, elements were increased to have mutually complementary effects with clothes. Finally, the study made various attempts at nail design methods by adopting a range of nail art expression techniques including hand painting, 2D & 3D art techniques, and using planar and three-dimensional nail decorations, thus proposing a positive direction for the organization of a curriculum to make use of 18th century women's clothing motifs in nail art education.

This study aimed to identify factors influencing awareness and interest in male nail care and nail art among people in their 20s and 30s, using a survey that included 390 men and women. The survey consisted of sub-factors, including awareness of appearance management, interest in nails, perception of male nail care and nail art, behavioral factors in nail care, and image factors in nail care. The results showed that the overall average interest in male nail care and nail art was 3.76, which fell between "average" and "yes". Women showed higher interest in male nail care than men did. While there was no statistically significant difference in the average value, interest in male nail care and nail art was higher among those in their 30s than those in their 20s. Unmarried individuals showed more interest in male nail care than married ones, and higher levels of education were associated with higher interest. In terms of occupation, service workers showed the highest interest in male nail care and nail art. In conclusion, the findings suggest the need for marketing research that caters to the development of services and programs targeting the male nail industry. The study also highlights the importance of segmenting and differentiating marketing strategies that target male and female customers with a high interest in male nail care and nail art. Based on these findings, this study aims to provide direction for the male nail care industry and serve as a basis for the development of customized programs. Additionally, it aims to provide basic data to aid in the development of the nail industry in Gyeongnam.

Customers who visit nail shops need creative and unique designs, but at present nail artists remain at the level of design imitation, new nail art designs should be developed to satisfy customers. Therefore, this study presented convergent nail art designs using formative art principles which are the basis of all design with the aim of contributing to creative nail art designs. For this purpose, this study investigated specialized books, Internet data and previous studies on the subject, analysed concepts and cases of formative art principles, and the concept of nail art and related expressive techniques to create six convergent nail art designs. As nail art techniques, this study used hand painting, marbling, see-through, etching, embossing, patching and objet. As a result, this study presented unique and creative nail art designs using formative art principles and found the possibility of creating new nail art designs. This study has meaning in that the results of this study are significant as basic data to enhance the design capabilities of nail artists.

The aesthetic value of Korea is rising in various fields through the use of designs using Korean materials. Korean materials contain oriental ideas and are widely used as materials for design development due to the uniqueness of its form. The purpose of this study is to present basic data of nail art design differentiated nail art designs required at the nail art industry site by producing nail works using Korean materials. Accordingly, We proceeded on the basis of theoretical consideration and empirical research for the development of nail art design, a field of beauty in this study, and made a Korean and unique nail art design work using the Four Gracious Plants. For this purpose, we considered theoretically the characteristics of nail art and the Gracious Plants, and made nail art design works derived from empirical research. The work was analyzed by color, texture, and design elements of form. Therefore, the mixed method of Nail Art and the Gracious Plants, which is the core of this study, is considered to be meaningful in laying the foundation for creative nail art design development.

This paper proposes a nail detection algorithm using OpenPose and implements virtual nail art using it. Based on the key points detected by OpenPose, the finger area is detected using skin color characteristics for each finger. The nail region is detected from the edge image of the detected finger region. Then, a virtual nail art is implemented by synthesizing nail tips in the nail area. In a somewhat controlled shooting environment, simulation results show that the proposed algorithm detects nail areas well and implements virtual nail art well.

Beauty Art typically has been viewed as the best way to represent women's beauty. Specifically, nail art is a mean for the new generation to unveil their individuality. Nail-shop customers usually feel refreshed, and that emotional change gives them aesthetic and emotional satisfaction. The popularization of nail art and the growth of nail-art market arises the people's concern to the necessity of marketing strategy as part of the beauty industry, as well as the importance of service quality and customer satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to examine women's changing view of nail care and relevant consumption behavior. Also to analyze the voice of customers about the quality of services provided by nail shops, and to have the right understanding of the industry and as well as to determine some of the right directions for marketing.

This study suggests method of expression of nail art utilizing Salvador Dali's Paranoiac Critical Method and produced the actual works based on discussions on Salvador Dali's painting, Paranoiac Critical Method, Nail Art's artistry and technique of expression. The result of the study is as follows: 1) Characteristic of Dali's painting is a Paranoiac Critical Method. If suggesting this characteristic in a method of expression of nail art, a good work which can be expressed on a small space, a nail, representing Dali is selected and 5 tips which are very similar to the rate of the painting are used in order to obtain an aesthetic effect just like a painting. And after composing on tips using the whole paining or part of painting, actual techniques of expression such as Hand Painting, Protranse or Water Decal are used. 2) the result of nail art produced utilizing Dali's Paranoiac Critical Method is as follows. Most of all, for nail art I with the topic of "The Persistence of Memory" (1931), after giving changes to 5 tips for the watch which is a part of the painting, Hand Painting technique is used using Acrylic Painting with colors which are similar colors to the painting. Then for nail art II which adopted "Slave Market with Invisible Bust of Voltaire" (1940), the whole painting is divided into 5 tips and Protranse technique which attaches printed paper onto nails was used. Lastly, for nail art III with the subject of "The Enigma of Desire My Mother, My Mother, My Mother" (1929), Water Decal which is emphasizing the parts of the painting and composing on 5 tips and copying printed picture onto Water Transfer Paper in order to attach on the nails is used. These nail arts show aesthetic characteristics such as fantasy, unconsciousness, grotesque, infinity, non-realism and horror just like paintings.

This study is a marketing tool for securing loyal customers and increasing sales by developing a customizing manual according to the change of segmented nail art consumption pattern due to the development of the nail industry and performing art to meet the needs of various customers and increase satisfaction. This was done to demonstrate the possibility of use. In order to develop a manual for the study, we conducted a survey that combined an online survey and in-person survey for ordinary citizens in their 20s and 50s living in Busan and Gyeongnam. Taste (50.0%) was the highest, and personal preference (62.9%) was also the highest for items related to nail art color selection, suggesting that the consumption pattern is changing to require a variety of personal art preferences rather than recommendations or recommendations from practitioners. Could know. As a result of performing nail art by applying the customizing manual developed based on customer selection, opinions were shown in the order of reliability (39.1%), attachment (39.1%), and rarity (26.1%). Utilization (73.9%) was also high in the question of 'If customizing manual was developed as an app', and overall satisfaction with the art selected by the customer was high, indicating that the customer had a high degree of attachment to the nail art design decided by the customer. As for the improvement points of the manual, it was possible to confirm the necessity of developing the app with the majority opinion that handwriting was inconvenient. Based on the nail art customizing manual of this study, the follow-up research proceeds with the app production and utilization process, and it is hoped that it will be used as a basic data for sales promotion by increasing customer satisfaction according to the rapidly changing consumption patterns of nail customers.

This study examined the history of nail art in 20th century, defined characteristics of many techniques used on nails, and analyzed how those techniques have been utilized in recent nail art works. For the method of the study, books and previous studies on nail art were examined as primary sources, and newspaper articles on nail art were studied as references. Then, the case studies were conducted on photographs of nail art works published in Nail Holic in 2012. As a result of analyzing expression techniques of nail art featured on Nail Holic, there had been a total of 517 works created using a single technique. The reason why hand painting is used very frequently is because artists can draw unique images of their own to create various designs according to their tastes. Rhine stone is also very popular, because stones are easy to apply and various in their shapes and colors. There were a total of 555 works created using two or more techniques. The most important point to examine is that hand painting, rhine stone, and 3D art were most popular among all techniques. These works featured highly various effects and images by combining flat effect of hand painting with three-dimensional effects of rhine stone or 3D art. The tendency can also be found in the fact that there have been many works using techniques of flat effects such as decal or marbling combined with techniques of three-dimensional effects such as rhine stone or 3D art.
