This thesis researches on the application of computer, modern communication, GIS, GPS, AIS and World-Wide-Web in the field of navigation-aids information system, and has realized an integrated system consisted of navigation-aids information GIS platform, navigation-aids monitoring system and navigation-aids information distribution system. This system has strong integration capability, and has realized navigation-aids information distribution based on WEBGIS at the first time. It strongly promotes navigation-aids daily management and maintenance, and this system provides technique guarantee fur ships and marine departments to acquire navigation-aids information in time, by rule and line expediently.

Road and maritime transport which connecting main cities in the world is already fully saturated, and the loss cost caused by recent high oil prices is getting bigger. Transportation by inland waterway is rising as an alternative method of them. Concerning this, the GI Waterway is on construction to connect the Yellow sea and Seoul. Nevertheless, there are no existing aids to navigation around the area and no studies have been carried out for them. As the construction progresses, installation of proper aids to navigation should be considered and profound studies need to be carried out. This study focused on introduction of the cases and the systems of other countries inland waterway aids to navigation and suggested a suitable navigation aids system along the inland waterways in Korea and a way of installation for that system.

Designing effective navigation aids for customer interfaces is critical for the success of cyber shopping malls. Navigation aids can be classified into either basic ones which are based on the structure of the malls or add-ons which are not. Add-on navigation aids provide various short-cuts to promote efficient traversal in the cyber shopping malls, but too many of them would increase the complexity of the customer interface. Metaphors have been used widely for the design of add-on navigation aids, but little research evaluates their impact on the processes and outcomes of customers behavior in cyber shopping malls. This paper presents an empirical study that investigates the navigation process of customers and the subjective evaluation of their shopping experience. This research implemented two versions of a test-bed cyber shopping mall according to different metaphors used; one based on a spatial metaphor, and the other based on a non spatial metaphor. The results of the experiment indicate that navigation aids based on the spatial metaphor were used more frequently, which resulted in better understanding about the entire structure of the cyber shopping malls, which in turn led to an increased ease of finding target items and also a more pleasant shopping experience. The benefits of navigation aids based on the spatial metaphor became more evident when customers were looking for ad-hoc category items rather than common items. This paper presents plausible explanations for the results and implications to the design of navigation aids for cyber shopping malls.

항로표지는 선박의 위치·방향 및 장애물의 위치 등을 알려주는 항행보조시설로써 중단없는 서비스가 중요하다. 본 연구는 서비스의 중단을 야기하는 항로표지 사고를 분석하고 사고와 관련된 주요 요인을 도출하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 2000년부터 2022년까지 발생한 항로표지 사고자료를 활용했다. 항로표지 사고의 변수를 사고유형, 원인, 지방청, 계절, 항로표지 유형으로 구분했으며, 상관관계 분석을 통해 네트워크를 도출했다. 항로표지 사고 기반으로 도출한 베이지안 네트워크에 사전확률을 부여하고, 항로표지 사고 유형별로 발생 확률을 높이는 요소들을 도출했다. 도출된 결과는 신고되지 않은 항로표지 사고의 원인을 추론할 수 있으며, 항로표지 사고 예방을 위한 기초 자료로도 사용할 수 있다.

항로표지가 이용자에게 지속 가능한 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 항로표지사고가 발생하지 않을 때 가능하다. 만약 항로표지사고가 발생한다면 관리자는 이를 효율적으로 관리하여 유사한 사고를 예방해야 한다. 하지만 현재 항로표지사고 관리는 사고의 원인과 종류만 명시할 뿐 별도의 지침이 없어 관리자에 따라 다르게 기록되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 항로표지사고를 재정립하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 지난 23년(00-22년)간 발생한 항로표지사고, IALA의 항로표지 정보 표준인 S-201, 사고의 범주인 교통사고와 해양사고를 분석하였다. 이를 토대로 항로표지사고의 요인은 내부적 원인과 외부적 원인으로 구분하였고, 사고유형은 등탑사고, 부표사고, 장비사고의 3종으로 구분하였다. 1차 항목을 좀더 세분화하여 사고 원인은 계류구, 기상악화 등 7개 항목과 사고 현상(종류)은 등탑파손, 부표유실, 장비고장 등 11개 항목으로 재정립하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 차후 항로표지사고 통계를 제공하기 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
