Tree Growth and Fruit Characteristics of 'Nero' Black Chokeberry According to Different Cultivation Regions and Altitudes (재배지역 및 고도에 따른 블랙초크베리 'Nero'의 수체 생육 및 과실 특성)

  • The study was performed to investigate basic tree growth and fruit characteristics of 'Nero' black chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa) depending on the different cultivation regions and altitudes in 2014, 2015. Tree growth and change of developmental stages of 'Nero' were similar regardless of meteorological environment of the four cultivation regions (Danyang, Okcheon, Yeongdong, and Geumsan) in 2014. Fruit characteristics of 'Nero' were significant differences in berry weight and anthocyanin content among the four orchards due to difference in cultivation techniques and relatively wide daily temperature range just before harvest, respectively. Tree growth and change of developmental stages of 'Nero' grown at the two orchards with different altitudes appeared to be similar during the successive years 2014 and 2015. Soluble solids content of the berries cultivated at low altitude (117 m) was higher than at high altitude (342 m). Acidity showed an inverse pattern with soluble solids content. Anthocyanin content increased progressively until at the middle of August, 2014-15 and then it decreased. Our results showed that black chokeberry is a species adaptive to the domestic environment as there were no differences in tree growth and change of developmental stages of 'Nero'. Considering fruit quality of black chokeberry such as soluble solids content, acidity, and anthocyanin content, our results suggest that optimal harvest period of black chokeberry 'Nero' is August 8 to 19.

A Study on the Growth Characteristics and Productivity of Different Corn Cultivars at Different Environmental Locations in South Korea

  • It is widely known that forage corn is one of the most important crops in the production of silage and green chops during the summer months. In this study, the characteristics and the productivity of Kwangpyeongok, AGR 41, and Nero IT corn cultivars were evaluated in the regions of Jeju and Cheonan, Korea between 2021 and 2022. In each year, different corn cultivars were sown in different parts of the country on April 7 in Jeju and May 3 in Cheonan. The yield of three cultivars, Kwangpyeongok, AGR 41, and Nero IT were measured at the yellow-ripening stage, including the leaves and stems (Stover) and corn grain. Kwangpyeongok stover and total dry matter (DM) yields were slightly higher in Cheonan than in Jeju over the past two years. The quantity of corn cultivated in all cultivated areas was similar. The average yield of AGR 41, corn quantity and total DM were slightly higher in Jeju than in Cheonan. In terms of stover yield, and total dry matter content of the Nero IT cultivar cultivated in Jeju had a slightly higher yield than the cultivar cultivated in Cheonan. Based on this study, all cultivars can show some variations but not too much in terms of growth productivity and distinct characteristics depending on their location. Overall, AGR 41, and Nero IT cultivars in Jeju exhibit slightly higher levels of productivity than the same cultivars in Cheonan.

Comparison of Quality and Cell Enlargement of 'Nero' Black Chokeberry Fruits According to Different Soil Water Conditions (토양수분 조건에 따른 블랙쵸크베리 'Nero' 과실의 품질 및 세포 발달 비교)

  • Effects of different soil water conditions on fruit characteristics were investigated in 5-year-old 'Nero' black chokeberry trees (Aronia melanocarpa). Three kinds of drought stresses, including low water deficit, severe water deficit, and very severe water deficit, due to decline of soil water decreased the fruit quality of weight of 10 berries, soluble solid content, and anthocyanin, compared with the control (consistent water supply) during the harvest period. After longer drought stress, supply of soil water could induce berry cracking because cell size of epidermis of fruits contracted, whereas cell size of sub-epidermis and flesh expanded. Thus periodic water supply using water supply facility is needed for yield and quality of 'Nero' black chokeberry fruits.

Nutritional Compositions and Physicochemical Properties of Two Domestic Aronia (A. melanocarpa) Varieties (국내산 아로니아 두 품종(네로, 바이킹)의 영양성분 및 생리활성 분석)

  • The nutritional compositions and physicochemical properties of two aronia varieties (Viking and Nero) cultivated in Chungbuk were investigated. The proximate compositions of Nero and Viking powder were:13% moisture, 0.58% and 0.6% ash, 0.73% and 0.33% crude lipid, 5.47% and 6.51% crude protein, 15.65% and 16.15% crude dietary fiber, and 64.36 and 64.43% crude carbohydrate, respectively. The proximate contents of the aronia samples were not significantly different. Among the physicochemical properties, there was also no significant change in total anthocyanin and antioxidant activity. However, Viking had higher total polyphenol contents and ${\alpha}$-glucosidase inhibition activity than Nero. The mineral contents of Al, Fe, Mn, Mg, Ca, Na, K, Cu and Zn in the two aronias were determined. Cu and Zn were not detected in both varieties. With regard to Al, Na and K, Nero was higher than Viking, while Ca was higher in Viking than Nero. From the results, Viking could be suggested to be beneficial for food processing.

  • Aronia has low preference because of astringent and bitter taste. Appropriate processing is essential for eating aronia. For the processing of aronia, the aim of this study is to provide basic information on the cultivar and ripening stages. Three varieties (Viking, Nero and McKenzie) were studied. We divided the stages of maturity into four levels based on color. The physicochemical properties were analyzed. In the case of hardness, the first stage of maturity was the highest, and there was no difference between varieties. As maturation progressed, brightness and yellowness gradually decreased, and redness was highest at the second stage. The sugar content was the lowest in the Viking and significantly increased with the maturity stage. The acidity was highest in the Viking. Nero showed the highest radical scavenging ability. Total polyphenols and flavonoids were the highest in Nero. The highest level was shown at the first stage by the ripening stage.

  • 본 연구에서는 한국어 전자사전 DECO(Dictionnaire Electronique du COreen)와 다단어(Multi-Word Expressions: MWE) 개체명을 부분 패턴으로 기술하는 부분문법그래프(Local-Grammar Graph: LGG) 프레임에 기반하여 반자동으로 개체명주석 코퍼스 DecoNAC을 구축한 후, 이를 개체명 분석에 활용하고 또한 기계학습에 필요한 도메인별 학습 데이터로 활용하는 DecoNERO 개체명인식 플랫폼을 소개하는 데에 목적을 두었다. 최근 들어 좋은 성과를 보이는 것으로 보고되고 있는 기계학습 방법론들은 다양한 도메인을 기반으로한 대규모의 학습데이터를 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 정교하게 설계된 개체명 사전과 다단어 개체명 시퀀스에 대한 언어자원을 바탕으로 하는 반자동으로 학습데이터를 생성하는 방법론을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 개체명주석 코퍼스 DecoNAC 기반 접근법의 성능을 실험하기 위해 온라인 뉴스 기사 텍스트를 바탕으로 실험을 진행하였다. 이 실험에서 DecoNAC을 적용한 경우, KoBERT 모델만으로 개체명을 인식한 결과에 비해 약 7.49%의 성능향상을 기대할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Micropropagation of Aronia (Aronia melaocarpa Elliot, black chokeberry) and its 5 varieties (아로니아(Aronia melanocarpa Elliot) 5개 품종의 기내번식)

  • Aronia (Aronia melanocarpa, Black chokeberry) is an important cash crop in domestic agriculture. We investigated the effects of plant growth regulators on shoot proliferation and rooting using in vitro tissue culture. The most effective shoot multiplication was observed on WPM (woody plant medium) supplemented with 1.0 mg/L zeatin ($8.3{\pm}1.0$ shoots/explant), while the highest rooting rate was obtained from half-strength WPM with 3.0 mg/L IBA (8.8 roots/explant). The rooted plantlets all survived in the artificial soil mixture (with a mixture of peat moss : perlite : vermiculite, 1:1:1, v/v/v) and grew up relatively uniform, ranging from 14 to 16 leaves, 8 to 10 cm in stem height, and 2.3 to 2.8 mm in stem diameter. While experimenting with 5 different varieties of Aronia, we found out that each variety had different characteristics of shoot proliferation and rooting. The total numbers of proliferated shoots per variety is as follows: $17.4{\pm}0.8$ for Nero, 14 to 15 for Purple and Mackenzie, and 10 for both Viking and Odamamachiko. Rooting rates were also various depending on the variety: 88% of Odamamachiko, 80% of Viking and Purple, and 76% of Nero and 60% of Mackenzie shoots rooted. The survival rate of the rooted plantlets was from 92% to 100%, varying by type. Further growth appeared to be better in auxin-treated plantlets, compared to untreated ones. Our results showed the possibility of establishing an effective in vitro micropropagation system for Aronia melanocarpa.

  • We design the intelligent diagnosis system for deciding on operation state of TMS Analyzer in this paper. We propose the method to model the neuro-fuzzy model for diagnosing theoperation state of analyzer by using input and output signals of TMS to measure Nox and SOx. By using experiment data, neuro-fuzzy model is investigated. Validity of the proposed system is asserted by numerical simulation.

  • A diagnosis system that provides early warnings regarding machine malfunction is very important for rolling mill so as to avoid great losses resulting from unexpected shutdown of the production line. But it is very difficult to provide early warnings in rolling mill. Because dynamics of rolling mill is non-linear. This paper proposes a new method for diagnosis of rolling mill using wavelet to solve this problem. Proposed method that measures the vibration signals of rolling mill on-line and analyze it using wavelet to acquire pattern datas. And we design a nero-fuzzy model that diagnose a rolling mill using this data. Validity of the new method is asserted by numerical simulation.
