Personalized Agent Modeling by Modified Spreading Neural Network

  • Generally, we want to be searched the newest as well as some appropriate personalized information from the internet resources. However, it is a complex and repeated procedure to search some appropriate information. Moreover, because the user's interests are changed as time goes, the real time modeling of a user's interests should be necessary. In this paper, I propose PREA system that can search and filter documents that users are interested from the World Wide Web. And then it constructs the user's interest model by a modified spreading neural network. Based on this network, PREA can easily produce some queries to search web documents, and it ranks them. The conventional spreading neural network does not have a visualization function, so that the users could not know how to be configured his or her interest model by the network. To solve this problem, PREA gives a visualization function being shown how to be made his interest user model to many users.

  • Collaborative filtering is one of the commonly used methods in the web recommendation system. Numerous researches on the collaborative filtering proposed the numbers of measures for enhancing the accuracy. This study suggests the movie recommendation system applied with Word2Vec and ensemble convolutional neural networks. First, user sentences and movie sentences are made from the user, movie, and rating information. Then, the user sentences and movie sentences are input into Word2Vec to figure out the user vector and movie vector. The user vector is input on the user convolutional model while the movie vector is input on the movie convolutional model. These user and movie convolutional models are connected to the fully-connected neural network model. Ultimately, the output layer of the fully-connected neural network model outputs the forecasts for user, movie, and rating. The test result showed that the system proposed in this study showed higher accuracy than the conventional cooperative filtering system and Word2Vec and deep neural network-based system suggested in the similar researches. The Word2Vec and deep neural network-based recommendation system is expected to help in enhancing the satisfaction while considering about the characteristics of users.

Artificial Neural Network Modeling and Prediction Based on Hydraulic Characteristics in a Full-scale Wastewater Treatment Plant (실규모 하수처리공정에서 동력학적 동특성에 기반한 인공지능 모델링 및 예측기법)

  • The established mathematical modeling methods have limitation to know the hydraulic characteristics at the wastewater treatment plant which are complex and nonlinear systems. So, an artificial neural network (ANN) model based on hydraulic characteristics is applied for modeling wastewater quality of a full-scale wastewater treatment plant using DNR (Daewoo nutrient removal) process. ANN was trained using data which are influents (TSS, BOD, COD, TN, TP) and effluents (COD, TN, TP) components in a year, and predicted the effluent results based on the training. To raise the efficiency of prediction, inputs of ANN are added the influent and effluent information that are in yesterday and the day before yesterday. The results of training data tend to have high accuracy between real value and predicted value, but test data tend to have lower accuracy. However, the more hydraulic characteristics are considered, the results become more accuracy.

Artificial neural network modeling to predict the flexural behavior of RC beams retrofitted with CFRP modified with carbon nanotubes

  • In this paper, the artificial neural network (ANN) is employed to predict the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beams retrofitted with carbon fiber/epoxy composites modified by carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Multiple techniques are used to improve the accuracy of the ANN prediction, as the data represents a multivalued function. These techniques include static ANN modeling, ANN modeling with load history, and ANN modeling with double load history. The developed ANN models are used to predict the load-displacement profiles of beams retrofitted with either CFRP or CNTs modified CFRP, flexural capacity, and maximum displacement of the beams. The results demonstrate that the ANN is able to predict the flexural behavior of the retrofitted RC beams as well as the effect of each parameter including the type of the used epoxy and the presence of the CNTs.

  • Nonlinear time series prediction is derived and compared between statistic of modeling and neural network method. In particular mean squared errors of predication are obtained in generalized random coefficient model and generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic model and compared with them by neural network forecasting.

  • In this paper, the hardening depth in Laser surface hardening process is estimated using a multilayered neural network. Input data of the neural network are surface temperature of five points, power and travelling speed of Laser beam. A FDM(finite difference method) is used for modeling the Laser surface hardening process. This model is used to obtain the network's training data sample and to evaluate the performance of the neural network estimator. The simulational results showed that the proposed scheme can be used to estimate the hardening depth on real time.

The fuzzy -neural network (FNN) learning represents one of the most effective algorithms to build such linguistic models. This paper proposes learning approach of fuzzy-neural network by immune algorithm. The proposed learning model is presented in an immune based fuzzy-neural network (FNN) form which can handle linguistic knowledge by immune algorithm. The learning algorithm of an immune based FNN is composed of two phases. The first phase used to find the initial membership functions of the fuzzy neural network model. In the second phase, a new immune algorithm based optimization is proposed for tuning of membership functions and structure of the proposed model.

The proposed learning scheme is the fuzzy-neural network structure which can handle linguistic knowledge as tuning membership function of fuzzy logic by particle swarm optimization algorithm. The learning algorithm of the PSOA-FNN is composed of two phases. The first phase is to find the initial membership functions of the fuzzy neural network model. In the second phase, particle swarm optimization algorithm is used for tuning of membership functions of the proposed model.

  • This paper describes a lateral guidance system of an unmanned vehicle, using a neural network model of magneto-resistive sensor and magnetic fields. The model equation was compared with experimental sensing data. We found that the experimental result has a negligible difference from the modeling equation result. We verified that the modeling equation can be used in the unmanned vehicle simulations. As the neural network controller acquires magnetic field values(B$\_$x/, B$\_$y/, B$\_$z/) from the three-axis, the controller outputs a steering angle. The controller uses the back-propagation algorithms of neural network. The learning pattern acquisition was obtained using computer simulation, which is more exact than human driving. The simulation program was developed in order to verify the acquisition of the learning pattern, learning itself, and the adequacy of the design controller. A computer simulation of the vehicle (including vehicle dynamics and steering) was used to verify the steering performance of the vehicle controller using the neural network. Good results were obtained. Also, the real unmanned electrical vehicle using neural network controller verified good results.
