A Study of the Benchmarks for OLTP Server's Performance Measurement and Sizing (OLTP서버 성능측정 및 규모산정을 위한 벤치마크 기준에 대한 고찰)

  • Historically, performance prediction and sizing of server systems have been the key purchasing argument for customer. To accurate server's sizing and performance prediction, it is necessary to correctness guideline for sizing and performance prediction. But existing guidelines have many errors. So, we examine the benchmarks of performance organization such as SPEC and TPC. And then we consider to TPC-C and TPC-E benchmarks for OLTP server's sizing and performance prediction that is a basic concept of guidelines. Eventually, we propose improvement of errors in guidelines.

  • Hardware sizing is determinated by an increasing rate of operated business and characteristic of adapted technology which are imported systems. Because it is very difficult for intuitive decision of hardware sizing's appropriateness. But in sprite of difficulty, for maximizing the utilization of information resource and the effect of information investment in public sector are need to correctness hardware sizing. In this paper, we proposed hardware sizing method for OLTP server that is make up It's faults of proper proposal method. Our study certainly will act as a catalyst for higher investment-efficiency of future information systems in public sector.

HIPSS : A RAID System for SPAX (HIPSS : SPAX(주전산기 IV) RAID시스템)

  • RAID technology that provides the disk I/O system with high performance and high availability is essential for OLTP server. This paper describes the design and implementation of the HIPSS RAID system that has been developed for the SPAX OLTP server. HIPSS has the following design objectives: high performance, high availability, standardization and modularization of external interface, and ease of maintenance. It guarantees high performance by providing 10 independent I/O channels, large data cache, and parity calculation engine. Hardware modularization of the host interface makes it easy to replace host interface hardware module. By providing dual power supply, dual array controller, and disk hot swapping, it provides the system with high availability Implementation of HIPSS and integration test on SPAX has been completed and performance measurement on HIPSS is now going on. In this paper, we provide the detail description for HIPSS system architecture and the implementation results.

  • 정보시스템을 구축하기 위한 기술구조는 90년대 초까지의 호스트 중심의 기술구조에서 PC보급의 확대로 인해 Client/server 환경의 기술구조를 급격하게 발전시켜 왔다. 그러나 Client/server 구조는 사용이 간편하고 시스템 확장이 용이하다는 장점에도 불구하고 Client 관리에 큰 문제점이 나타났다. Client/server 관리의 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 대안으로 웹 환경의 인터넷/인트라넷 구조의 기술발전이 꾸준히 이루어졌으며, 현재는 Client/server와 같은 안정적인 OLTP(Online Transaction Processing)를 처리할 수 있는 수준까지 발전하였다. 본 논문에서 소개하는 운송정보시스템은 웹 환경의 인터넷/인트라넷을 이용한 시스템으로서, 중ㆍ소 운송업체와 자가 운송 사업자가 운송정보시스템을 구축하는데 있어서 초기 투자비용을 줄이고, 시스템의 유지 보수 및 확장이 용이한 ASP(Application Service Provider) 서비스를 효과적으로 제공한다. 이것은 차량의 위치정보를 통해 배차현황/출하차현황/도착현황/공차현황 등 물류 흐름을 파악하기 위한 운송 정보를 실시간으로 제공하고, 동종 유사 업체간의 표준화된 자료를 교환, 공유함으로써 효율적인 차량 관리가 가능하며, 물류비를 전감 할 수 있고, 작업의 효율성을 증대시켜 원활한 운송업무가 이루어지게 할 수 있을 것이다.

  • In this study, It is suggested how to utilize hardware capacity sizing system for WEB, WAS, OLTP server's CPU, memory, and disk capacity by its user reasonably. To achieve goal of this study, we presented specific approaches in aspect of institutional viewpoint. The result of this study can be reflected gradually in the guideline of informatization related budgeting by MPB(Ministry of Planning and Budget) and e-government supporting program.

  • 최근 SPAX와 중대형 컴퓨터 시스템에서 OLTP와 DSS와 같은 대용량 고속 자료 처리 서버로서의 자료 무결성 문제는 기술적으로 선결되어야 한 중요한 사용자 요구 사항 중의 하나이다. 자료 무결성에 대한 기술적 해결의 한 방안으로 응용 프로그램 수준의 결함허용 기법을 제공하기도 한다. 그러나 응용 프로그램 수준의 결함허용 기법은 자료를 저장한 매체의 관리 권한 밖에 존재함으로써 고장의 발생과 복구에 일정 제한을 가진다. 따라서 디스크와 같이 일반 파일 시스템을 구성하는 중요한 매체들에 저장된 자료의 무결성을 커널 수준에서 보장하고 응용 프로그램에 투명성을 의장 할 수 있는 연구가 향후 기술 동향의 한 축을 이루고 있다. 본 연구에서는 마이크로 커널을 기반으로 상위 서버로서 결함허용 파일서버의 설계에 관한 내용을 제안한다.

  • Recent developments in information and communication technology has enabled the deployment of sensor based data to provide real-time services. In Korea, The Korea Transportation Safety Authority is collecting driving information of all commercial vehicles through a fitted digital tachograph (DTG). This information gathered using DTG can be utilized in various ways in the field of transportation. Notably in autonomous driving, the real-time analysis of this information can be used to prevent or respond to dangerous driving behavior. However, there is a limit to processing a large amount of data at a level suitable for real-time services using a traditional database system. In particular, due to a such technical problem, the processing of large quantity of traffic big data for real-time commercial vehicle operation information analysis has never been attempted in Korea. In order to solve this problem, this study optimized the new database server system and confirmed that a real-time service is possible. It is expected that the constructed database system will be used to secure base data needed to establish digital twin and autonomous driving environments.
