The Impact of Consumer's Psychological Attachment and Enjoyment, Trust on Satisfaction and Attitude toward On-Demand O2O(Online to Offline) Service (온디맨드 O2O(Online to Offline)서비스에 대한 소비자의 심리적 애착과 즐거움 및 신뢰성이 서비스만족도와 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines the psychological factors of consumers to On-Demand O2O service which is different from the previous study on O2O service. To investigate the relative influence of consumer's psychological attachment of On-Demand O2O service, enjoyment, and trust on consumer's satisfaction and attitude, I conducted qualitative and quantitative surveys to investigate consumers' perception. Through the quantitative survey on 152 participants, the study shows that the consumer's psychological attachment to the service has the greatest influence on the attitude toward On-Demand O2O service and the trust has the highest effect on satisfaction with service. This study is meaningful in that the consumer's psychological factors to the O2O service is examined from the consumer's point of view. This study suggests that the consumer's attachment and trust should be considered primarily to expand the On-Demand O2O service.

A study on user experience of Kakao Taxi (카카오택시 사용자 경험에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the phenomenon of users' experience of O2O transportation service - focus on the Kakao taxi. As a research method, first case study investigated characteristics of taxi app service in Korea and overseas O2O transportation service. Secondly, we conducted an in - depth interview with eight Kakao taxi users to understand the experience of using the taxi. As a result, we were able to derive two points that needed improvement. Firstly, the imbalance between supply and demand should be improved. Secondly, users should not be disadvantaged by the location disclosure. It is significant that this study suggests ways to improve domestic O2O transportation service through a taxi. It is expected that the follow up study will help improve the domestic O2O transportation service and improve the user experience.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive the differentiation and improvement measures of Kakao T through a usability evaluation centered on the service. In-depth interviews were conducted by first identifying the status of the mobility O2O service and reconfiguring the usability principles of the Honeycomb model, focusing on the functions and interfaces. First, there are problems driven from the imbalance in supply and demand as a mobility service, but it is likely to be improved through the addition of future features, carpooling. Second, problems were elicited for not recognizing the need for incorporated functions of Kakao T in the presence of existing functional-specific applications. Improvements derived based on this study are expected to help increase the convenience of users of mobility O2O services.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of O2O service which is emerging recently and to look for ways to take advantage of it. Recently, the emergence of various O2O services that utilize ICT technology of smartphone has attracted a lot of consumers. The study analyzed the characteristics of the O2O service and evaluated whether user satisfaction changes according to use safety. This study carried out a structured questionnaire, by collecting the material for the 421 general public in the country. Hypothesis tests showed that 4 characteristic of O2O services have positive impact on user satisfaction and regression analysis showed accuracy of information and pleasure have significant impact on user satisfaction. After cleaning up of these findings and discussing the theoretical and practical implications, this study provides direction for future research.

Effects of Experiential Value on Continuous Use Intention for On-Demand Services (온디맨드(On-Demand) 서비스의 지속사용의도에 대한 경험가치 효과)

  • On-Demand services have emerged as one of the core business strategies for delivering new experiential values by providing customized services in different user-needs nowadays. Based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework, this paper focuses on the factors of environmental stimulation and emotional states of the demand-side that induce continuous intention of use from the On-Demand services. The study defines 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust', and 'Convenience' as the properties of the On-Demand services and considers 'Playfulness', 'Customer Return on Investment (CROI)', and 'Service Excellence' as the aspects of the experiential values. The research shows that 'Fulfillment', 'Trust' and 'Convenience' affected the experiential value in 'Kakao Taxi (On-Demand transportation service)' while 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust of platform', and 'Convenience' are represented as the related factors to the experiential value in 'Baedal Minjok (On-Demand food delivery service)'. The experiential value factors, 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence', are shown directly related to the continuous intention of use in both services. A partial mediation relationship is, furthermore, observed between the aspects of 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence' in Kakao Taxi and its 'Convenience' and 'Continuous intention of use.' In Baedal Minjok, a partial mediation relationship is found between the 'CROI' with its aspects of 'Trust of the platform', 'Convenience', and 'Continuous intention of use' as well. The results of this study may contribute a comprehensive understanding of the purpose of On-Demand services and its needs from the demand-side thus can be helpful for the supply-side.

  • Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the domestic disinfection and quarantine market has grown, and the demand for disinfection operators who want to recruit disinfectants and disinfectants who want to work has increased, but it is not easy to find jobs. In addition, there is a need for a system that can automate or efficiently manage work by hand-recording and writing a disinfection record for disinfection work. Therefore, in this paper, an O2O disinfection service system is designed using the MVC pattern and implemented through MySQL, Ejs/BootStrap view, and Node.js. Additionally, it connects with AWS cloud services so users can use the system anytime, anywhere. Through the proposed O2O disinfection service system, we hope to solve the difficulties of recruiting personnel in the domestic disinfection station market and improve the existing inefficient disinfection work process.

A Case Study on Freshcode for the Food Online Platform Business: A Focus on the Lean Start-Up (푸드 온라인 플랫폼 비즈니스 프레시코드 사례: 린 스타트업 방식을 중심으로)

  • Food delivery service combined with IT technology and HMR (Home Meal Replacement) are rapidly growing due to the COVID-19. Recently, the demand for salads along with HMR has increased among office workers in their 20s and 30s who are interested in health and beauty. Freshcode is a food startup with 6 years of experience that started selling salad products through O2O service. Freshcode applied for a patent for a service that collects orders from nearby areas and delivers them on the same day to a designated delivery address 'FCOSPOT' to save shipping costs. In March 2021, in recognition of the growth potential of the regular delivery service, Freshcode received an investment of 6 billion won in Series A. This study may have practical implications to early-stage startups and scale-up stage startups through a longitudinal case study on the growth of a single company. As for the research method, the lean startup methodology and lean canvas were used in the early stage of startup. In particular, the process of the build-measure and learn feedback-loop, which is the core of lean startup methodology, was applied to each major decision-making step. In the scale-up stage after 5 years, the business model canvas was used to schematize the growth as a food online O2O platform to verify continuous innovation. This case study has three main findings. First, the idea of 'FCOSPOT' was successfully implemented through the Lean Startup methodology. Second, Freshcode demonstrated the scalability of the differentiated business model of shared base delivery O2O. Third, a key factor of success was the digital integrated communication operation strategy that maximizes the experience for the created customers.

Design and Evaluation of an Adaptive Reservation-Based Piggybacking Algorithm for Video Servers (비디오 서버를 위한 적응적 예악기반 피기백킹 알고리즘의 설계 및 평가)

  • A critical issue in the performance of a video-on-demand system is the I/O bandwidth required in order to satisfy client requests. Several approaches: batching, bridging, piggybacking are used ot reduce the I/O demand on the video server through sharing. Piggybacking is the policy for altering display rates of requests in progress fro the same object, for the purpose of merging their corresponding I/O streams into a single stream, which can serve the entire group of merged requests. In this paper, we propose a new policy called an adaptive reservation-based piggybacking that dynamically reserves the I/O stream capacity of video server for popular videos according to video server loads to immediately schedule the requests for popular videos. The performance of the proposed policy is evaluated through simulations, and is compared with that of simple piggybacking. As the result, we know that the adaptive reservation-based piggybacking provides better service probability, average waiting time and percentages saving in frames than simple piggybacking.

  • Interest in Fintech is extremely growing as O2O which means the binding of online and offline appears. The scale of private consumption in South korea reached about 700 trillion won, however, the online trading is only about 60 trillion won, which means 640 trillion won is still trading in offline. The reason the Fintech industry comes into the spotlight is because the foundation of related industries such as the rise of mobile traffic and the fast growth of the financial transaction through the mobile channel is forming. Especially, the introduction of payment systems among these Fintech industries offers convenience to the consumer. Mobile payment has been generalized in daily life such as utility bills and taxi fares. Use of O2O service in various industrial fields in commerce gives convenience to consumers and increase in sales to business in recent commercial transaction which is moving to on-demand channel services. People in smartphone life are supposed to find more convenient services for saving time using their phone, and this kind of environment makes the ordering goods and services through Fintech payments increase. The emergence of O2O services influences the development of Fintech industry and the emergence of convenient and reliable Fintech service through the deregulation of Fintech also affects the activation of O2O services. The complementary relationships between O2O services and Fintech would contribute to economic activation. From the standpoint of the researchers, I would like to further study the methods that can lead to a new paradigm of the financial payments industry through the development of Fintech and the drafts for the market expansion of the current offline commerce making it online in the advent of O2O services in variety industries.

The Impact of Service Quality Signals on the Success of Online Food Delivery Services on O2O Platforms (O2O 플랫폼 내 서비스 품질 신호가 온라인 음식 배달 서비스 성공에 미치는 영향)

  • With the growing demand for online food delivery (OFD) services via Online to Offline (O2O) platforms, it is required for academic researchers to identify the success factors of OFD businesses. In line with this, this research examines the impact of the core service attributes of a restaurant (hygiene, interactivity, trust,and popularity) on business success in the OFD platform context from the perspective of information asymmetry. Furthermore, the moderating effects of hygiene factor between the core service attributes and the success of restaurants are evaluated. We utilize 1,146 restaurants registered on the largest OFD platform in Korea. The results of this study demonstrate that hygiene (certification), trust (franchise), popularity (favorite) factors have positive impacts on the success of OFD businesses. Moreover, we find that franchise restaurants with high response rates to customer reviews and inquiries achieve higher sales when they have hygiene certifications than those without the certification do. The key findings bear significant contributions to prior literature by empirically substantiating the pivotal role of service quality signals in fostering restaurant success on the OFD platforms. In addition, this study provides business implications for restaurants in O2O platform.
