The Effects of Police Officer's Personal Dispositions on Organizational Citizenship Behaviors: Moderation Effect of Organization Culture (경찰공무원의 개인적 성향이 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향 : 조직문화의 조절효과)

  • Previous findings on Organizational Citizenship Behaviors is a useful index for effectiveness of the organization. Also, it is a factor that explains the relation between its member's attitude and behavior as organizational commitment had been stabilized. Since autonomy and rapidity has become more important in increasing the efficiency of the organization, this means Organizational Citizenship Behaviors has become important in it. Organizational Citizenship Behaviors of the members occurs only when discretion and autonomy are given to its members. Therefore, this study aimed at measuring the effects of police officer's personal dispositions on organizational citizenship behaviors, exploring the moderation effect of organization culture, and providing the basis with implications to promote the Organizational Citizenship Behaviors in the police Organization. By reviewing previous finding, Police Officer's Personal Dispositions were selected as independent variables, Organizational Citizenship Behaviors was selected as dependent variable. and Organizational Culture was selected as moderation variable. The result of analysis showed that The belief & The Norm influenced in Organizational Citizenship Behaviors(positive), and The Value in Organizational Citizenship Behaviors(negative). And The moderation effect was tested: The Value${\rightarrow}$Hierarchical Culture${\rightarrow}$Organizational Citizenship Behaviors(negative), The belief${\rightarrow}$Rational Culture${\rightarrow}$Organizational Citizenship Behaviors(negative)

Managerial Coaching Effect on Organizational Effectiveness: Mediating Roles of Psychological Ownership and Learning Goal Orientation

  • Purpose - This study was to empirically validate the mediating roles of psychological ownership and learning goal orientation in the relationships of managerial coaching behaviors and organizational citizenship behaviors/creative behaviors of employees. Research design, data, and methodology - A total of 270 employees in the Korean distribution industry were surveyed on-line, and the results were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equational modeling. Results - The study confirmed prior research results that managerial coaching behaviors were related positively to employees' psychological ownership and learning goal orientation, both of which were associated positively with their organizational citizenship behaviors and creative behaviors respectively. It revealed the complete mediating effect of psychological ownership between managerial coaching and organizational citizenship behaviors and that of learning goal orientation between managerial coaching and creative behaviors. Conclusions - Psychological ownership was found to play an important role in the relationship between managerial coaching behaviors and organizational citizenship behaviors. It gives some practical implication regarding the higher turn-over intention rate of the distribution industry, in that promoting psychological ownership through managerial coaching behaviors could reduce the turn-over intention rate.

  • The purpose of this study tried to reveal how human capitals of deluxe hotels located in Seoul affects corporate trust and organizational citizenship behaviors. In addition, it tries to find out the mediating effect that the trust among coworkers have contributed to human capital and organizational citizenship behaviors. The result of this study shows that Human capital have a great effect on the trust among employees and organizational citizenship behaviors. And it has been outed that the trust between the company and employees is a mediating effect between human capital and organizational citizenship behaviors. The results of this research shows that for competitive advantage under the competitive environment of the hotel industry, in addition to human resource management and organizational management, the management system which emphasizes the importance of human capital and the trust among company members should be built.

Relationship among Job Burnout, Organizational Commitment and Organizational Citizenship Behavior in Social Workers using Structural Equation Modeling

  • Burnout is a severe psychological and physical syndrome that occurs in response to prolonged stress at work. It brings enormous costs to both organizations and individuals because it negatively impacts employees' job attitudes and leads to undesirable behaviors. The purpose of this study was to examine the negative effects of job burnout on the organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior of social worker. Organizational citizenship behaviors are efforts by employees above and beyond what is expected. For the research, burnout was consisted of emotional exhaustion(EE), depersonalization(PA) and diminished personal accomplishment(DP) by Maslach and Jackson's MBI. This study analyzed 342 social workers in private social welfare organizations by survey. The results of this study were summarized as follows: Social Workers had negative correlation to burnout on the organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. Especially, EE, PA and DP had a negative effect on the organizational commitment; PA and DP had a negative effect on the organizational citizenship behavior. This study finally discussed theoretical implications for future study and practical implications for burnout strategies on the results.

  • Purpose: This study aims to secure basic data required to enhance the organizational efficiency as increasing the organizational citizenship behavior of nurses through identifying the influence of leader-member exchange and organizational commitment en organizational citizenship behaviors in nursing organization. Method: The subjects of this study were 352 nurses. Data was collected using structured questionnaires for 15 days from 10 to 24 April 2003. Result: According to the analysis on the influence of leader-member exchange, organizational commitment and general characteristics on organizational citizenship behaviors, the organizational commitment, leader-member exchange and tenure of office had significant influences, as 23.0%, 30.2% and 31.3%, respectively. Conclusion: It is required to increase the organizational commitment and to enhance leader-member exchanges for the purpose of inducing the organizational citizenship behaviors. Furthermore, it is also necessary to develop the strategies through development of medical environment and clinical carrier experiences for self-development of member based en long-term tenure of nursing organization

  • Objectives : Identify the factors that affect organizational citizenship behavior of hospital nurses, and to provide a basis for developing an effective nursing workforce management system. Methods : Participants of this study were 214 nurses serving at general hospitals located in B Metropolitan City. Data collection was performed from Oct.15th to 25th, 2014. The methods of analyzing data were ANOVA, Scheffe's-Test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient Analysis and the Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis according to the SPSS WIN 18.0 Program. Results : Emotional intelligence explained 42.1% of the subjects' organizational citizenship behaviors. This figure increased to 48.7, 51.3 and 52.3%, respectively when other three factors of job satisfaction, age and educational background were added on a one-by-one basis. Conclusions : Considering that emotional intelligence is a critical factor in organizational citizenship behaviors, general hospitals should develop and implement education and training programs that can raise their nurses' emotional intelligence and job satisfaction and, concomitantly, promote their organizational citizenship behaviors provided that feedbacks is provided later.

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the influence of internal marketing factors on organizational citizenship behavior of nurses based on the mediate variable of job satisfaction. Method: Structured questionnaires were used with a convenience sample of 267 subjects working at 2 hospitals which have more than 500beds. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression. Result: Empowerment($\beta$= .395) and compensation($\beta$= -.232) among the internal marketing factors had significant influences on organizational citizenship behaviors. However, job satisfaction($\beta$= .266) showed a mediate variable between compensation and organizational citizenship behaviors. Conclusion: This result indicates that empowerment and job satisfaction are important factors in predicting organizational citizenship behavior of nurses in hospitals. Thus it would be necessary to include this two factors in inhencing production of a nursing unit.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between the perception of organizational citizenship behavior and that of safety culture by airline pilots. Finding factors which composed of organizational citizenship behavior, this paper will prove the effects of those factors to the safety culture of an airline. Organizational citizenship behavior means the activities of members, based on their free will, to enhance organization's overall productivity and performance, which are, however, not officially and apparently approved by the organization. Safety culture is to contain the concept in the organization's protocol, procedure and policy affecting safety performance of the organization. According to the analysis, it was proven compliance of organizational citizenship behaviors has a positive effect on safety culture through job satisfaction. Moreover, altruism and individual initiative have a direct positive effect on safety behavior of pilots.

A Study on Factors Affecting the Relationship between User's Organizational Citizenship Behaviors and Intention of ERP Extension Usage: Focusing on the Mediating Effects of Absorptive Capacity and Perceived Usefulness (ERP 사용자의 조직시민행동과 확장이용의도 간의 관계에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 흡수역량과 지각된 유용성의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study is an empirical study on the relationships among organizational citizenship behaviors, absorptive capacity, performance of using ERP(perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and intention of ERP extension usage). In particular, mediating effect of absorptive capacity and perceived usefulness is empirically analysed to find causes and impacts among these variables. In order to achieve the goals of this study, research models were proposed and hypothesis were drawn to test on the basis of previous studies. A survey was conducted to the members of the seven organizations such as manufacturers, distributors and service industry. The survey questionnaires were sent to 400 people and 304 of them were returned. This data was analyzed with SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 5.0. The study results are as follows. There were no direct effects of the organizational citizenship behaviors on the performance of using ERP. The organizational citizenship behaviors had a positive effects on the absorptive capacity. The absorptive capacity had also a positive effect on the performance of using ERP and the perceived ease of use. The perceived ease of use had a positive effect on the perceived usefulness and the intention of ERP extension usage. Futhermore, the perceived usefulness had a positive effect on the intention of ERP extension usage. In addition, there was a full mediating effect of the absorptive capacity on between the organizational citizenship behaviors and the performance of using ERP. The perceived usefulness had a partial mediating effect on between the perceived ease of use and the intention of ERP extension usage.

Effect of Authentic Leadership on Organizational Citizenship Behaviors through Mediating Roles of Followers' Self-awareness and Psychological Ownership

  • Purpose - This study empirically validates the theoretical argument of the effect of authentic leadership on organizational citizenship behavior, and the mediating roles of followers' self-awareness and psychological ownership between authentic leadership and followers' organizational citizenship behavior. Research design, data, and methodology - A total of 380 office workers in Korea were surveyed through on-line, and the result was analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equational modeling. Results - The authentic leadership was shown to be related positively to followers' self-awareness and psychological ownership, both of which were associated positively with their organizational citizenship behavior. The complete mediating effects of followers' self-awareness and psychological ownership were verified between authentic leadership and follower's organizational citizenship behavior. Conclusions - While followers' self-awareness was rarely studied in the authentic leadership study to date, it was found to play a role in the authentic leadership process into organizational outcome. It is argued that the followers' self-awareness as a mediating role between authentic leadership and organizational outcome seems to be more appropriate than the leader' s identification of previous thesis in explaining the authentic leadership effect.
