  • PMI(Privilege Management Infrastructure) certificates as well as Public-Key certificates must be validated before being used. Validation for a PMI certificate requires PMI certificate path validation, and PKC(Public-Key Certificate) path validations for each entity in the PMI certificate path. This validation work is quite complex and burdened to PMI certificate verifiers. Therefore, this paper suggests a delegated PMI certificate validation that uses specialized validation server, and defines a validation protocol which is used between validation server and client.

  • Phosphomannose isomerase (PMI) catalyzes the interconversion of fructose-6-phosphate and mannose-6-phosphate in the extracellular polysaccharide (EPS) synthesis pathway. The gene encoding PMI in Sphingomonas chungbukensis DJ77 was cloned and expressed in E. coli. The pmi gene is 1,410 nucleotides long and the deduced amino acid sequence shares high homology with other bifunctional proteins that possess both PMI and GDP-mannose pyrophosphorylase (GMP) activities. The sequence analysis of PMI revealed two domains with three conserved motifs: a GMP domain at the N-terminus and a PMI domain at the C-terminus. Enzyme assays using the PMI protein confirmed its bifunctional activity. Both activities required divalent metal ions such as $Co^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ni^{2+}$ or $Zn^{2+}$. Of these ions, $Co^{2+}$ was found to be the most effective activator of PMI. GDP-D-mannose was found to inhibit the PMI activity, suggesting feedback regulation of this pathway.

  • 본 논문은 PKC(Public Key Certificate)를 이용하여 Privilege Management를 제공하는 모델에 대해 다룬다. 권한관리는 PKC와 AC(Attribute Certificate)를 이용한 PMI가 제시되고 있으나, PMI를 구축하기 위한 비용이 들게 된다. 본 논문에서는 현재 구성되고 있는 PMI 모델과 본 논문에서 제시한 PSL(Privilege Status List)를 이용한 권한 관리모델을 비교, 분석한다.

Synthesis and Characterization of Fluorinated Poly(phenylmaleimide-co-pentafluorophenylmaleimide) for Optical Waveguides

  • Fluorinated polymaleimides with high thermal stability and low optical absorption loss in the optical communication wavelength of $1.55{\mu}m$ were investigated for application in low-loss waveguide materials. The fluorinated polymaleimides were prepared from two monomers phenylmaleimide (H-PMI) and pentafluorophenylmaleimide (F-PMI). All synthesized copolymers had high thermal stability (decomposition temperature $(T_d)=380-430^{\circ}C$). The refractive index of the copolymers could be tuned from 1.4969 to 1.5950 in the TE mode and from 1.4993 to 1.5932 for the TM mode at 632.8 nm by copolymerizing different weight ratios of H-PMI and F-PMI. The refractive index of the copolymers decreased with increasing F-PMI content. In addition, when the amount of F-PMI was increased, optical loss and absorption loss at 632.8 nm and 1550 nm, respectively, decreased.

The Role of Pharmacomechanical Endovascular Intervention for Iliofemoral Vein Thrombosis Compared to Conventional Anticoagulation Therapy

  • Although anticoagulation therapy is the primary treatment for deep vein thrombosis (DVT), it has not been associated with the rapid recanalization of the venous occlusion. Moreover, it is associated with long-term disability due to post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS). In contrast, pharmacomechanical endovascular intervention (PMI) results in more rapid clinical improvement in DVT patients, but there are few reports on its long-term outcomes. This retrospective study evaluated the clinical effectiveness of PMI compared to conventional anticoagulation therapy (ACA) for acute and subacute iliofemoral DVT. We reviewed the medical records of 102 patients with iliofemoral DVT. A total of 46 patients for ACA and 56 patients for PMI were enrolled. We analyzed the clinical differences between the PMI and ACA groups by comparing the clinical signs, residual DVT free-rate, and PTS-free rate. There were no statistically significant differences in the demographic characteristics and risk factors except age between the groups (age: ACA, $52.0{\pm}18.0years$; PMI, $59.0{\pm}17.0years$; P = 0.035). The 1-, 3-, and 5-year residual DVT-free rate (ACA = 84.7%, 71.6%, and 46.0%; PMI = 82.1%, 76.8%, and 76.8%, respectively; P = 0.235) was not significantly different. However, the 1-, 3-, and 5-year PTS-free rate was significantly different (ACA = 93.5%, 74.0%, and 55.7%; PMI = 92.9%, 90.0%, and 90.0%, respectively; P = 0.019). There was no significant difference in the rate of other complications. PMI showed a lower incidence of PTS during the follow-up period. Therefore, PMI should be considered as an effective therapeutic modality for patients with iliofemoral DVT.

Comparative Analysis of Container for High Performance Computing

  • In this paper, we propose the possibility of using containers in the HPC ecosystem and the criteria for selecting a proper PMI library. Although demand for container has been growing rapidly in the HPC ecosystem, Docker container which is the most widely used has a potential security problem and is not suitable for the HPC. Therefore, several HPC containers have appeared to solve this problem and the chance of performance differences also emerged. For this reason, we measured the performance difference between each HPC container and Docker container through NAS Parallel Benchmark experiment and checked the effect of the type of PMI library. As a result, the HPC container and the Docker container showed almost the same performance as native, or in some cases, rather better performance was observed. In the result of comparison between PMI libraries showed that PMIx was not superior to PMI-2 in all conditions.

US Purchasing Managers' Index and its Impact on Korea and US

  • Purpose - The study is to examine the impact of the US Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) on Korea and the US industrial economy including the distribution industry. We analyze its effect on the industrial economy centered on the distribution industry using economy indices in Korea and the US. Research design, data, and methodology - The variables are used to analyze the dynamic relationship which occurs among the US PMI, the industrial production index, producer price index, unemployment rate, and manufacturing Inventories Index in Korea and the US from January 1990 to July 2016 using Vector Error Correction Model. Results - As a main result, the impact of the US PMI on all the economy indices both Korea and the US has the same cyclical movement. The US PMI is positively related to the producer price and the industrial production index of Korea and the US, while it is negatively related to unemployment rate, and the manufacturing inventories index in Korea and the US. Conclusions - The US PMI as an advanced index has a power to predict the economies on Korea and the US. In the end, we find that the US PMI has a great impact on Korea and the US industrial economy.

An Empirical Study on the Influence of Post-Merger Integration for Organizational Effectiveness: Focused on the Merged Corporation of LH

  • In the merged organization, the efforts of integration such as various PMI activities, etc. are exerted and the performance of PMI can be judged by evaluating the effectiveness of an organization. In this paper, the empirical analysis was conducted to see what effects of 'planned PMI activities' and 'voluntary integration efforts' have on the effectiveness of an organization which is 'Organizational Commitment', 'Job Satisfaction', 'Emotional Integration' and 'Shared Value Recognition'. The survey was made on the employees of LH, which is a representative case of public corporation advancement, and SPSS 17.0 and AMOS 17 were used for the analysis. As a result of the analysis of a structural equation model, it indicated that both 'planned PMI activities' and 'voluntary integration efforts' have direct influence on 4 indices of effectiveness of an organization respectively. In particular, it was found that 'planned PMI activities' affects 'Shared Value Recognition' the most and 'voluntary integration efforts' has the largest effect on 'Emotional Integration'. Through this study, it was verified that voluntary integration efforts of members as well as the planed formal PMI activities are also very important factor of effect on the integration performance of an organization.

  • A catalyst for promoting the commercialization of N-phenylamleimide (PMI), a compound used to strengthen the heat resistance of ABS resins and also completely imported, was developed. N-phenylmaleamic acid (PMA) was first quantitatively obtained through the reaction of maleic anhydride and aniline. A catalyst was then investigated for obtaining PMI. Zinc acetate/$Et_3N$, composite catalyst, showed better performance than a single acid catalyst. By using the developed composite catalyst, PMI could be synthesized with the yield and purity of 90% and 99.3%, respectively without any further purification processes.

  • N-phenylmaleimide (PMI), a compound for strengthening the heat resistance of ABS resin, is a yellow crystal. Therefore, copolymers modified with PMI exhibit color, which limits their use. In order to overcome such disadvantage, the demand for N-cyclohexylmaleimide (CHMI), which has similar properties to PMI and also is a white crystal, is increasing. However, CHMI is difficult to industrialize due to the formation of various by-products during synthesis, which requires an additional purification process resulting in a low yield. In this study, composite catalysts were developed to improve these problems and industrially produce CHMI. Finally, CHMI was synthesized with a 85% yield and at least 99.5% purity.
