With a view to the residential environment plan to improve the quality of life and health status of dwellers, the purpose of this study is to explore the co-relation between pedestrian environment and health performance in apartment complexes and to analyze the residents' evaluations on pedestrian environment for 'pedestrians-friendly residential environment'. The method of this study was research review and questionnaire survey research. Questionnaire surveys were conducted with the housewives at the two subject apartments in Busan. Based on tools to assess pedestrian environment, this study analyzed correlation between health-related satisfaction with residential environment and satisfaction with pedestrian environment. Satisfactions with pedestrian environment showed a strongly positive (+) correlation with contentment with health-related residential environment Second, this study analyzed residents' use, demands, and satisfaction for pedestrian environment. More active pedestrian environment are required (i.e. a trail or sports facilities) to create residential environment which could support the enhancement of physical health To perform the mean comparative analysis and correlation analysis of the survey results, PASW 18.0 was used.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the pedestrian environment of the residential area in residential development. The result of the research are follows; first, the pedestrian environment in the apartment quarter is better than independent residential quarter. second, the pedestrian and the automobile use together the street, because the side walk ist not established from the road where the width is narrow. finally, the condition of side walk paving ist bad, so that the pedestrian environmental level decreased badly

Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the elementary schoolchildren's the fear of crime in pedestrian environment of elementary school for providing the basic design resource. Method:In order to deal with that, the questionnaire survey on the elementary schoolchildren's the fear of crime were conducted in 5 elementary schools in Ilsan new town. The results of the 293 questionnaires survey were analyzed through SPSS program. Result: The main results were as follows. The level of fear of crime in pedestrian environment differed in these 5 elementary schools because of the width of pedestrian path, the concealed place around pedestrian path, the nearness of park, the height/shape/interval of trees, the number of car and the closure-watching in the school caused by fence and trees and so on. The level of fear of crime in pedestrian environment differed between that of boy groups and that of girls groups because of the number of emergency bell/telephon, the shape of pedestrian path, the number of security office, the number of car and the concealed place around pedestrian path and so on.

This study is to search for improvement of Pedestrian Environment through User Satisfaction on Underground Public Pedestrian Facility. Development of large scale underground spaces has been increased by urban multi-dimensional. However, concern for practical users is in lack because the aim of the development is to obtain profit. Thus, this study have tried to find consideration of architectural factors of underground public pedestrian facility in Yeongnam province for pedestrians. Also, the study have tried to find improvement for the architectural factors depending on an evaluation index of pedestrian environment and satisfaction of the practical users.

This paper is focused on studying a pedestrian passage that forms exterior space of the housing unit on diverse prerequisites and convenience of residential environment regards to plans for Multi-family Housing Complex. The paper explores the actual usage of a pedestrian passage installed in Multi-family Housing Complex and examine whether the nature-friendly space that includes the exterior pedestrian passage of the housing unit is being applied variously on a pedestrian passage. In order to obtain an analysis of the current status on case study unit, the study has prepared an analyzing tool for the environment in use for the exterior pedestrian passage and was able to construction problematic points by applying the obtained data. Thanks for the analysis, a comprehensive evaluation on the plans for the pedestrian passage was implemented through correlation with a green tract of land, living space and the exterior pedestrian passage installed in Multi-family Housing Complex.

최근 일상생활 속 보행의 중요성이 강조되면서 보행권 보장 및 보행환경 조성을 위한 사업이 지역 곳곳에서 추진되고 있다. 선행 연구에서는 전주시 도로 이미지를 사용하여 보행환경 평가를 진행하고, 이미지 비교 쌍 데이터 세트를 구축하였다. 하지만 숫자로 표현된 데이터 세트는 보행환경 평가자들의 판단 기준을 일반화하거나 보행자가 선호하는 보행환경을 시각적으로 파악하기에 어려움이 존재한다. 따라서 본 연구는 웹 애플리케이션을 구축하여 데이터 시각화를 통해 보행환경 평가의 결과를 해석하는 방법을 제안한다. 의미론적 분할 결과를 활용하여 보행환경 평가자에게 영향을 미치는 보행환경 구성 요소를 분석한 결과, 보행자는 주로 'earth'와 'grass'가 많은 환경을 선호하지 않았고, 'signboard'와 'sidewalk'를 가진 환경을 선호하는 것으로 확인하였다. 제안된 연구는 향후 보행환경 평가의 참여자가 임의로 선택한 결과를 파악하고 분석할 수 있을 것으로 기대하며, 데이터에 대한 정제과정을 전처리로 수행함으로써 좀 더 향상된 정확도를 얻을 수 있을 것으로 판단한다.

Unsatisfactory urban walking environment stresses urban residents, and may cause mental illness and chronic diseases by reducing walking activities. Therefore, establishing a high-quality walking environment that can promote walking activities in urban residents has emerged as an important issue. The walking environment consists of various components, such as trees, stairs, streetlights, benches, signs, fences, and facilities, and it is essential to understand which components and their settings act as satisfiers or dissatisfiers for pedestrians, to create a better quality walking environment. Therefore, this study investigated pedestrian satisfaction and dissatisfaction as a function of various environmental components through a survey using walking environment images. The results revealed that most of the walking environment components except the braille block and treezone exhibited significant correlations with pedestrian satisfaction. Particularly, safety-related component (e.g., adjacent roads, parked cars, traffic cushions, and car separation), and landscape-related components (e.g., trees and green), as well as the material settings of landscape facilities (e.g., wooden fences, benches, stairs, and walkway surfaces) correlated with pedestrian satisfaction. The results of this study can contribute to the extraction of useful features to evaluate pedestrian satisfaction as a function of the walking environment. The research outcome is expected to assist in the effective arrangement of walking environment components and their settings, which will ultimately contribute to significantly satisfactory walking environment and encourage walking activities.

보행공간은 작게는 보행량을 포함하는 공간사용의 정도에 영향을 미치거나 크게는 지역경제의 활성화에 영향을 미치며, 더 크게는 친환경, 친인간적인 도시로서의 삶의 질을 평가하는 지표중의 하나이다. 또한 최근 도심부 보행관련 정책은 선적인 가로환경 개선사업에서 발전된 보행자우선지구로의 전환이 대두되고 있어 특정 보행공간보다는 전체적인 보행공간체계에 대한 고려가 중요시되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 도시민을 위한 공간계획의 일환으로 시작된 국내 보행 전용 공간의 물리적 특성과 실제 이용자의 이용 형태에 대한 연구를 통해 국내에 조성된 보행 전용 공간의 특성을 규명하고자 함에 목적을 두고 사례분석을 통한 연구를 진행하였다. 사례연구는 지역적으로는 서울시에 조성된 차없는 거리 중 명동과 관철동에 조성된 시간제 통제방식의 보행자 전용공간을 선택하였으며 이에 대한 현장조사와 설문조사를 병행하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 활용 방안으로는 보행공간 관련 사업 시 특정가로에 치중된 사업이 아닌 지역 전체 보행공간체계의 공간적 가로특성을 고려할 수 있으며, 현행 법제도에서 모호하게 제시된 보행자전용도로 위치 및 횡단보도 위치의 당위성을 제시할 수 있다. 또한, 계획단계에서 보행량 예측에 따른 적절한 계획수립방안을 모색할 수 있다.

근래에 보행환경에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있지만 보행환경의 수준에 대한 평가를 위한 기법이 통일되지 않아 도시간 비교 또는 도시 내 시계열적 비교를 할 수 있는 방법이 제한되어 있다. 또한 보행환경에 대한 각종 조사는 시행되고 있지만 조사기법이 다양하여 자료의 축적이 되고 있지 못하기 때문에 보행환경에 대한 평가기법과 조사방법을 통일하여 보행환경계획의 체계를 갖출 필요성이 높다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 이 연구에서는 보행환경수준을 평가할 수 있는 지표를 개발하였으며 더불어 이동편의지수 산정방안을 제시하였다. 개발된 지표와 이동편이지수는 사례지역 조사를 통하여 산정방안과 활용방안을 검증하였다. 이들 지표와 이동편의 지수는 상호 연계되어 도시 내 보행환경수준의 평가를 통하여 보행환경개선 우선가로를 선정하는데 유효한 방법이 된다. 또한 전국 도시간 비교와 도시별 시계열 비교가 가능한 수치를 제공함으로써 보행환경관련 도시 및 교통 계획의 목표치의 설정을 위한 주요 지표 역할을 할 수 있다.

The pedestrian space of the street is one of the most important public places in the city. Sidewalks are the paths that everyone travels, and the spaces in which everyone comes together. By Whatever means they travel, everyone is ultimately a pedestrian during their journey through the residential area. Every year, more than six thousand Koreans are victimized by traffic accidents, and a half of them are pedestrians. This study aims at improving the pedestrian environment in residential area, and thus making road a walkable, pedestrian-friendly space. The study reviews the problems in the pedestrian environment of residential area and proposes improvement strategies.
