  • The aim of this study is to analyze the determinant factors of the personal relationships among university students. We collected data for 41 days, from 1 November to 10 December of, 2013. This study surveyed 221 university students at a university located in the metropolitan city of Busan. The findings were as follows. There were statistically significant differences in the relationships according to sex, smoking, drinking, and health status(p<0.05). Males showed this better than female. Smokers(drinkers) showed a greater difference than non-smokers(non-drinkers). Greater subjective health status was associated with more personal relationships. Students who managed their mental health and stress showed good personal relationships. From a multiple regression analysis, it was found that the determining factors as regards personal relationships were health status, current smoker, management of health, and gender health, all of which showed statistically significant differences(p<0.05). As a result, we suggest that we must provide information about health-promoting lifestyles at university to enhance personal relationships.

  • The center of networking is moving toward mobile from PC based computing environment. The number of smartphone users are increasing rapidly today. One of the most popular smart phone applications is mobile SNS such as Kakao Story, Facebook, Twitter, Mobile Cyworld, etc. Mobile SNS means social network services based on mobile communication technology. This research focused on mobile SNS usage of married women who have not enough time for face-to-face communication with their friends to enhance their friendship. Married women in their 30s and 40s have lots of things to do like housework and caring their children. Mobile SNS would help their communication in aspect such of free of space and time. Through Mobile SNS married women can reinforce their personal relationship and self-esteem. Social Information Processing Theory (SIP) is an interpersonal communication theory developed by Walther(1992). Once established, online personal relationships may demonstrate the same relational dimensions and qualities as face-to-face relationships. The theory explains how people get to know one another online, without nonverbal cues, and how they develop and manage relationships in the computer-mediated environment. The result of empirical analysis indicates that marred women's Mobile SNS activities reinforce their personal relationship and self-esteem.

  • How many people does a person have personal relationships before he/she die? According to the research by sociologist Sola Paul, the number of people that a person recognizes importantly is 3,500 persons. People are living in personal relationships with more people than expected. As it is, the study that is important and essential for a person in living the life is the personal relationship. Therefore, since a person should be interested in, study on and practice the personal relationship, this study is a research on the improvement method for mature relationship to understand relationships with most frequently meeting people and coworkers for a person's life. Through researching previous study materials and documents and displaying specific examples on the meaning, the necessity and the criticality of personal relationship and preceding research data, the results of my survey for church teachers' relationships this study suggested the important factors and improvement method for mature relationship.

  • Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are an important public health problem throughout the world. Many important questions remain to be addressed in assessing exposure to these compounds. Because they are ubiquitous and highly volatile, special techniques must be applied in the analytical determination of VOCs. Personal exposure measurements are needed to evaluate the relationship between microenvironmental concentrations and actual exposures. It is also important to investigate exposure frequency, duration, and intensity, as well as personal exposure characteristics. In addition to air monitoring, biological monitoring may contribute significantly to risk assessment by allowing estimation of absorbed doses, rather than just the external exposure concentrations, which are evaluated by environmental and personal monitoring. This study was conducted to establish the analytic procedure of VOCs in air, blood, urine and exhaled breath and to evaluate the relationships among these environmental media. The subjects of this study were selected because they are occupationally exposed to high levels of VOCs. Environmental, personal, blood, urine and exhalation samples were collected. Purge & trap, thermal desorber, gas chromatography and mass selective detector were used to analyze the collected samples. Analytical procedures were validated with the“break through test”, 'quot;recovery test for storage and transportation”,“method detection limit test”and“inter-laboratory QA/QC study”. Assessment of halogenated compounds indicted that they were significantly correlated to each other (p value < 0.01). In a similar manner, aromatic compounds were also correlated, except in urine sample. Linear regression was used to evaluate the relationships between personal exposures and environmental concentrations. These relationships for aromatic and halogenated are as follows: Halogen $s_{personal}$ = 3.875+0.068Halogen $s_{environmet}$, ($R^2$= .930) Aromatic $s_{personal}$ = 34217.757-31.266Aromatic $s_{environmet}$, ($R^2$= .821) Multiple regression was used to evaluate the relationship between exposures and various exposure deter-minants including, gender, duration of employment, and smoking history. The results of the regression model-ins for halogens in blood and aromatics in urine are as follows: Halogen $s_{blood}$ = 8.181+0.246Halogen $s_{personal}$+3.975Gender ($R^2$= .925), Aromatic $s_{urine}$ = 249.565+0.135Aromatic $s_{personal}$ -5.651 D.S ($R^2$ = .735), In conclusion, we have established analytic procedures for VOC measurement in biological and environmental samples and have presented data demonstrating relationships between VOCs levels in biological media and environmental samples. • The present study examined the causal relationships among nurses' job environment /job characteristics(work overload, lack of autonomy, professional role conflict, interpersonal relationships), maturity, job stress, job satisfaction and turnover intention by constructing and testing a theoretial framework. Based on Katz and Kahn's (1978) theory of organizational open system and Kahn, Wolfe, Quinn, and Snoek's (1964) theory of stress, nurses' turnover intention, job satisfaction and job stress were conceived of as outcomes of the interplay between personal characteristics and work environment. Personal aspects associated with outcome variables included professional knowlege and skill, and maturity(challenge, commitment, control, responsibility). The work environment factors involved work overload, lack of autonomy, professional role conflict, and interpersonal relationships (social support). Three university hospitals located in Seoul were selected to participate. The total sample of 443 registered nurses represents a response rate of 96 percent. Linear structural relationships (LISREL) technique was used to test the fit of the proposed conceptual model to the data and to examine the causal relationships among variables. The result showed that both the proposed model and the modified model fit the data excellently, revealing considerable explanatinal power for job stress and job satisfaction. The explanatory power of turnover intention was relatively lower than those of stress and satisfaction. In predicting nurses' stress, satisfaction and turnover intention, the findings of this study clearly demonstrated that professional role conflict might be the most important variable of the all the environmental variables and personal characteristics. The results were dis-cussed, including directions for the future research and practical implications drawn from the research were suggested.

  • Purposes: This study aimed to identify the relationships among personal and organizational communication skills, occupational stress, and patient safety activity levels of two nursing workforce groups (nurses and nursing assistants) who provide integrated nursing care services. Methodology: The study design is a cross-sectional study. Seventy-one nurses and forty-three nursing assistants working in the integrated nursing care service wards participated in this study. The data were collected using a self-reported questionnaire from June to July 2021. The relationships among the variables were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Findings: Nurses' personal communication skills (r=.294, p=.013), organizational communication skills (r=.408, p<.001), and occupational stress (r=.243, p=.041) were associated with their patient safety activities. However, nursing assistants' personal communication skills, organizational communication, and occupational stress were not correlated with their patient safety activities. Practical Implication: Patient safety activities of nurses were related to their communication skills and occupational stress, but nurse assistants were not. Therefore, nurses should encourage nursing assistants to responsibly engage in patient safety activities and supervise their works appropriately to achieve high-quality care.
