  • The phase-screen and the split-step Fourier migrations, which are implemented in both the frequency-wavenumber and frequency-space domains by using one-way scalar wave equation, allow imaging in laterally heterogeneous media with less computing time and efficiency. The generalized-screen migration employs the series expansion of the exponential, unlike the phase-screen and the split-step Fourier migrations which assume the vertical propagation in frequency-wavenumber domain. In addition, since the generalized-screen migration generalizes the series expansion of the vertical slowness, it can utilize higher-order terms of that series expansion. As a result, the generalized-screen migration has higher accuracy in computing the propagation with wide angles than the phase-screen and split-step Fourier migrations for media with large and rapid lateral velocity variations. In this study, we developed a 2D prestack generalized-screen migration module for imaging a complex subsurface efficiently, which includes various dips and large lateral variations. We compared the generalized-screen propagator with the phase-screen propagator for a constant perturbation model and the SEG/EAGE salt dome model. The generalized-screen propagator was more accurate than the phase-screen propagator in computing the propagation with wide angles. Furthermore, the more the higher-order terms were added for the generalized-screen propagator, the more the accuracy was increased. Finally, we compared the results of the generalizedscreen migration with those of the phase-screen migration for a model which included various dips and large lateral velocity variations and the synthetic data of the SEG/EAGE salt dome model. In the generalized-screen migration section, reflectors were positioned more accurately than in the phase-screen migration section.

  • Bi$\_$0.7/Pb$\_$0.3/Sr$_1$Ca$_1$Cu$\_$1.8/Ox thick films were screen printed on magnesia(MgO), silver and yttrium stabilized zirconia (YSZ) substrates and were sintered in a boat with cover to prevent the evaporation. The high-Tc phase increase and the low-Tc phase and Ca$_2$PbO$_4$ decrease with an increase in sintering temperature from 835$^{\circ}C$ to 860$^{\circ}C$. YSZ substrate interact strongly with the oxide resulting in poor superconductor, while the Ag and MgO substrates were satisfactory to make screen printed superconductors. The Bi$\_$0.7/Pb$\_$0.3/Sr$_1$Ca$_1$Cu$\_$1.8/Ox thick films screen printed both on Ag and MgO substrates show high Tc phase of ~85% and Tc of 96K.

  • This paper describes a contact position detection method of a capacitive touch screen panel. The proposed method is composed of a circuited compensating algorithm generating an output signal having phase difference to an input signal associated with contact position, converts both input and output signals into digital waveform (5V logic), and calculates the phase difference. Finally, position information with the phase difference is obtained by using a low-cost microprocessor, which is convenient to compensate non-linearity error. The proposed method, that computes phase difference directly, has advantages in feasibility and cost because it minimizes the use of analog devices; rather, it utilizes, cost effective digital circuit. Analytical results are also given.

  • Phase screens are widely used to simulate the effects of atmospheric turbulence on the phase fluctuations of a light beam. We compare three sampled-based phase-screen-generation methods (the fast-Fourier-transform, subharmonic, and covariance-matrix methods), in terms of accuracy and simulation time. We show that the covariance method generates the phase screens most accurately, with simulation time comparable to the other sampled-based methods.

  • A well oriented Bi2212 superconductor thick films were fabricated by screen printing with a Cu-free Bi-Sr-Ca-O mixture powder on a copper plate and heat-treating at 820-88$0^{\circ}C$ for several minute in air. During the heat-treatment, the printing layer partially melted by reaction between the Cu-free precursor and CuO of the oxidizing copper plate. In the partial melting state, it is believed that the solid phase is Bi-free phase and Cu-rich phase and the composition of the liquid is around Bi : Sr : Ca : Cu = 2 : 2 : 0 : 1. Following the partial melting, the Bi2212 superconducting phase is formed at Bi-free phase/liquid interface by nucleation and grows. With decreasing the Bi composition in the precursor powder, the critical temperature(T$_{c}$) of the fabricated Bi2212 thick film increased to about 79 K.K.

  • Pb(Zr$_{0.8}$Ti$_{0.2}$)O$_{3}$ powders, prepared by the sol-gel method, were mixed with an organic vehicle and the PZT thick films were fabricated by the screen-printing techniques on Pt/Ah03 substrates. The structural properties were examined as a function of sintering temperature. The particle size distribution of the PZT powder derived from the sol-gel process is uniform with the mean particle size of about 2.6 m. As a result of the DTA, the formation of the polycrystalline perovskite phase was observed at around $890^{circ}$CC. In the X-ray diffraction analysis, all PZT thick films showed a perovskite polycrystalline structure without a pyrochlore phase. The perovskite crystallization temperature of PZT thick films was about $890^{circ}$C. The average thickness of the PZT thick films was approximately 80-90 m.

  • A simple RC circuit model of large-scale touch screen panels is developed and the frequency range of the RC model is analyzed. 2D EM simulation results of a single touch cell are cascaded for a 23 inch touch panel using a circuit simulator, and the shortest and longest channels of the full panel are modeled with a 5-element RC circuit. The 5-element RC circuit can model the touch screen panel upto 130 kHz with the channel phase error of $10^{\circ}$. 7-element RC circuit model is also proposed and the frequency range for the channel phase error of $10^{\circ}$ is extended to 200 kHz.

  • $(Ba_{0.6-x}Sr_{0.4}Ca_x)TiO_3$(BSCT) (x=0.10, 0.15, 0.20) powders were prepared by the sol-gel method and BSCT thick films were fabricated by the screen-printing method. The structural properties as a faction of the composition ratio were studied. As a result of the differential thermal analysis (DTA), exothermic perk was observed at around $860^{\circ}C$ dne to the formation of the polycrystalline perovskite phase. The BSCT thick films sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ for 2h showed the average grain size of $2{\sim}7{\mu}m$. The average thickness of BSCT thick films, obtained by 3 times of screen-printing, was approximately $85{\mu}m$.

  • A current subtraction technique with parallel operation system is proposed to remove excessive current in touch screen application. The proposed current subtraction remove the current which go into the input node of charge amplifier. The value of subtraction current is same with current when touch screen is not touched. As a result, charge amplifier output is only proportional to variation of mutual capacitor, which make dynamic rage is increased. Also, Transmitter (Tx) driving signal and subtraction driving signal are out of phase each other. Thus, noise generated in Tx is cancelled. The proposed IC is implemented in a mixed-mode 0.18-um CMOS process. Overall system is designed for touch screen panel (TSP) with 16 driving lines and 8 sensing lines. 5-V supply voltages are used in the proposed circuits. For multiple Tx driving signal, Walsh codes are used and signal frequency is 300 khz. By using proposed technique, dynamic rage is improved 36 dB.
