Photo and Electrocatalytic Treatment of Textile Wastewater and Its Comparison

  • Electrochemical and photochemical techniques have been proved to be effective for the removal of organic pollutants in textile wastewater. The present study deals with degradation of synthetic textile effluents containing reactive dyes and assisting chemicals, using electro oxidation and photo catalytic treatment. The influence of various operating parameters such as dye concentration, current density, supporting electrolyte concentration and lamp intensity on TOC removal has been determined. From the present investigation it has been observed that nearly 70% of TOC removal has been recorded for electrooxidation treatment with current density 5 mA/$dm^2$, supporting electrolyte concentration of 3 g/L and in photocatalytic treatment with 250 V as optimum lamp intensity nearly 67% of TOC removal was observed. The result indicates that electro oxidation treatment is more efficient than photocatalytic treatment for dye degradation.

Robust Control of a Grid Connected Three-Phase Two-Level Photovoltaic Inverter (3상 2레벨 계통연계형 태양광 인버터의 강인제어)

  • This study provides a robust control of a grid-connected three-phase two-level photo voltaic inverter. The introduced control method uses the cascade control strategy to regulate AC-side current and DC-link voltage. A robust controller with integration action is used for the inner-loop AC-side current control, which maximizes the convergence rate using a linear matrix inequality-based optimization design method and eliminates the offset error. The robust controller design method considers the parameter uncertainty set to accommodate parameter mismatch and un-modeled components in the inverter model. An outer-loop proportional-integral controller is used to regulate DC-link voltage with linearization of DC/AC relation. The proposed control strategy is applied to a grid-connected 100 kW photo voltaic inverter.

두께 및 굴절률 변화와 이중층 구조에 따른 Anti-Reflection Layer의 특성변화에 관한 연구

  • 일반적으로 태양전지에서 anti-reflection layer는 조사되는 태양 광을 좀 더 많이 사용하기 위하여 nitride나 oxide와 같은 막을 표면에 형성한다. 본 연구는 이 anti-reflection으로 사용되는 nitride와 oxide의 각각의 두께와 굴절률 변화에 따른 특성변화를 SILVACO를 이용하여 전산모사하고 그 특성변화를 분석하였다. Anti-reflection layer가 없을 경우에는 조사된 빛에 따른 available photo current 활용이 낮았으며, 특히 그 경향은 단파장영역에서 두드러지게 나타났다. 따라서 anti-reflection layer의 최적화를 위해서 두께를 가변하여 available photo current를 분석하였으며, 각 물질의 굴절률 변화 및 이중층 구조의 anti-reflection layer를 형성하고 특성변화를 분석함으로써 최적화하였다.

  • This paper is shows the configuration of the maximum power tracking control of Photo-voltaic and battery charge system. Up to now, the chopper system had the problem which a battery become a short life by reason of discontinuity of output current and its energy reduce. But in this paper, We propose the chopper system which maintain the successive output current and at the same time, control the maximum output location by change time-ratio using tracking of energy variation that occur because of the varied volume of insolation per a day and temperature.

  • A high performance organic phototransistor with dynamic range of 120 dB is demonstrated by employing soluble pentacene as a photo-sensing layer. The organic phototransistor used suspended source/drain (SSD) electrode structure, which provides a dark current level of ${\sim}10^{-14}$ A at positive gate bias. Under a steady-state illumination, the organic phototransistor exhibited a current modulation of $10^6$ compared to dark to give a dynamic range of 120 dB. These results suggest that the organic phototransistor based on TIPS pentacene can be a new premising candidate for low-cost and high-performance photo-sensing element for digital imaging applications.

  • The homo and hetero-junction diodes were fabricated using BP-Si structure. After removal of Si substrates, schottky diodes were fabricated on the BP bulk. The electrical properties of the diode were examined through current-voltage characteristics curve. The schottky diode with Sb electrode has a cut-in voltage of 0.33V. This value is almost equal to that of the typical schottky diodes. The breakdown voltage of the schottky diode is 30V. When BP was used for photo cell as a window, the conversion efficiency improved from 6.5% to 8.3%, and optical transmissivity of BP invreased in short wavelength region.

  • The ARC light has been measured using photo-detect system under different TIG welding condition. Light detect system consists of photo diode, ND Filter, OP Amp. A/D convertor and PC. The purpose of this experiment is to show the relationship between ARC light and process variables such as welding current, torch travel speed, etc. The results can be applied to estimate the condition of welding process and the quality of welding products. The signal of ARC light has periodic patterns in good TIG welding condition whereas in abnormal condition the signal has different pattern. Amount of Ar shielding gas and distance from electrode to specimen affect the signal pattern significantly.

A New Diarylethene with Donor-acceptor Group for Reversible Photo-induced Electrochemical Switching

  • A new diarylethene compound with donor and acceptor substituent was synthesized from 2,3-bis(2-methylbenzo[b]thiophene-3-yl)hexafluorocyclopentene (BTF) over 5 steps. The donor-acceptor structured BTF compound (TBTFE) showed spectral change to a longer wavelength through photochromism with a high cyclization quantum yield (0.56). The 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (T) and carboethoxy (E) groups directly connected to BTF unit promoted electrical change accompanied with the photoisomerization of the BTF unit. Photo-induced electrical switching was achieved from a photocell containing TBTFE doped polymer film, which showed reversible and stable current change over repeated cycles by the alternative UV/Vis irradiation, as estimated by the I-V plot.

Organic Thin Film Transistors with Cross-linked PVP Gate Dielectrics by Using Photo-initiator and PMF

  • We have fabricated pentacene based organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) with formulated poly[4-vinylphenol] (PVP) gate dielectrics. The gate dielectrics is composed of PVP, poly[melamine-coformaldehyde] (PMF) and photo-initiator [1-phenyl-2-hydroxy-2-methylpropane-1-one, Darocur1173]. By adding small amount (1 %) of photo-initiator, the cross-linking temperature is lowered to $115^{\circ}C$, which is lower than general thermal curing reaction temperature of cross-linked PVP (> $180^{\circ}C$). The hysteresis and the leakage current of the OTFTs are also decreased by adding the PMF and the photoinitiator in PVP gate dielectrics.
