이 논문은 사진과 죽음이 맺는 관계를 고찰하면서 매체로서의 사진이 가진 독특한 특성이 이 관계에 어떻게 영향을 미치고 있는지를 살펴보고 실제로 사진이 죽음을 재현하는 여러 방식들의 구체적 사례들을 분류, 분석함으로써 죽음을 재현하는 사진의 사회적 역할을 이해하는 기회를 제공하고자 한다. 조사 결과, 죽음 사진은 영정사진, 사후사진, 재해 및 전쟁사진, 처형사진, 의학과 법의학적 사진으로 구분되며 애도와 추모, 저항과 투쟁, 통치와 지배, 폭로와 고발의 역할을 한다.

사진이 발명된 계기에는 과학과 기술이 뿌리 깊게 자리 잡고 있다. 인간의 손이 아닌 기계와 과학적 처리과정을 통해 생성된 이미지는 사실 그대로의 정교한 이미지로만 그치지 않았다. 사진은 대중문화, 예술, 광고, 과학연구 등 정확한 기록성과 사실적 묘사가 필요한 곳이면 어디든지 사용되었으며, 하나의 인류문화로 자리를 잡았다. 그러나 현재 사진교육에서 다루는 사진사는 사진가의 사진성향, 예술적 패러다임의 시대적 변화와 전쟁과 같은 사회적 변화를 중심으로 사진의 흐름을 다루고 있을 뿐 기술적 관점과 같은 다양한 관점에서 바라본 사진사 연구는 부족하다. 본 연구에서는 사진의 과학 기술적 탄생 배경을 중심으로 사진의 기술사를 살펴보았고 중요한 기술적 성취단계에서 사진은 어떤 영향을 받고 변화했는지 각각의 사례를 통해 분석 및 논의하였다. 이러한 관점의 논의는 빠르게 변화하고 있는 현대사진을 이해하는데 도움이 되며 앞으로의 사진 변화를 예측하는데 참고가 될 수 있기에 적지 않은 의미를 가진다. 또한 사진이 기술에 의존적이라는 사실을 이해함으로써 사진전공자들에게 사진기술 및 관련이론을 습득하는 것이 무슨 의미를 가지는지를 깨우쳐 줄 수 있을 것이다.

Fashion is a product of form expressing the socio-cultural mood and aesthetic value of an age. Owing to development of the mass media and diversification of arts under the influence of post-modernism in the 20th century, fashion has been more briskly expressed to be presented to the people. With such basic conceptions in mind, this study was aimed at reviewing the fashion photography as visual medium. To this end, visual narrative techniques were analyzed and thereupon, Philip-Lorca diCorcia's fashion photography was examined. This study reviews such visual narrative techniques by dividing into visual and non-visual elements and thereby, examines the three-fold aspects of fashion photography expressions : Representative Level, Ground Level and Context Level. Also this study focuses on Philip-Lorca diCorcia's fashion photography in 'W magazine' which features portfolio form. This study analyzed the visual narratives shown in fashion photography and thereby, expand in diverse ways the fixed images of the conventional fashion photography commercials featuring beautiful models and exquisite costumes, and additionally, determined that fashion photography must be a kind of expression tool which could express not only the simple fashion but also the socio-psychological elements inherent in fashion.

Clinical photography is an essential component of patient care in plastic surgery. The use of unsecured smartphone cameras, digital cameras, social media, instant messaging, and commercially available cloud-based storage devices threatens patients' data safety. This paper Identifies potential risks of clinical photography and heightens awareness of safe clinical photography. Specifically, we evaluated existing risk-mitigation strategies globally, comparing them to industry standards in similar settings, and formulated a framework for developing a risk-mitigation plan for avoiding data breaches by identifying the safest methods of picture taking, transfer to storage, retrieval, and use, both within and outside the organization. Since threats evolve constantly, the framework must evolve too. Based on a literature search of both PubMed and the web (via Google) with key phrases and child terms (for PubMed), the risks and consequences of data breaches in individual processes in clinical photography are identified. Current clinical-photography practices are described. Lastly, we evaluate current risk mitigation strategies for clinical photography by examining guidelines from professional organizations, governmental agencies, and non-healthcare industries. Combining lessons learned from the steps above into a comprehensive framework that could contribute to national/international guidelines on safe clinical photography, we provide recommendations for best practice guidelines. It is imperative that best practice guidelines for the simple, safe, and secure capture, transfer, storage, and retrieval of clinical photographs be co-developed through cooperative efforts between providers, hospital administrators, clinical informaticians, IT governance structures, and national professional organizations. This would significantly safeguard patient data security and provide the privacy that patients deserve and expect.

21세기 들어 디지털 카메라가 널리 보급되면서 사진을 이용하거나 사진을 위한 많은 연구들이 컴퓨터 그래픽스 커뮤니티에 소개되고 있다. 이러한 연구들은 계산 사진학이라고 불리고 있는데, 이 논문에서는 계산 사진학이 수 천년 사진학의 역사에서 어떤 흐름을 거쳐 발생했는지 설명한다. 또한 사진학의 역사를 패러다임의 전환으로 나누고, 계산 사진학이 어떠한 패러다임 전환기 결과물인지 설명한다. 이를 통해 계산 사진학의 향후 연구 방향을 제시하려 한다.

사진과 사진행위에 대한 부르디외의 사회학적인 분석은 $\ll$중간예술$\gg$과 $\ll$구별짓기$\gg$를 통해 발표되었다. 여러 문화적 산물들 중 사진은 사회과학에서 소홀히 다루어져 왔기 때문에 사진에 대한 부르디외의 연구는 주목할 만한 가치가 있다. 특히 $\ll$중간예술$\gg$은 거의 모든 사진 장르들을 다루면서 사회적 계급들이 사진에 대해 적용하는 규범 체계들, 사진행위의 유형들, 여러 분야의 전문 사진사들이 자신들의 직업에 대해 가지고 있는 생각들과 그들이 참조하는 미학들을 분석하고 있고 최종적으로는 그러한 분석을 바탕으로 사진에 대한 정신분석학적 분석도 시도함으로써 사진과 사진행위에 대해 체계적이고 명료하게 인식할 수 있는 기회를 제공했다는 점에서 대단히 의미가 있는 작업이라 할 수 있다. 그러나 주요 분석 대상인 사진이 급속한 기술적 변화를 겪고 있는 매체이며 경제적이고 문화적인 요인들의 변화에 따른 위상의 변화를 보이고 있는 매체라는 점에서 부르디외의 분석은 오늘날 몇 가지 수정되어야 할 부분들을 가지게 되었다. 우선 부르디외가 강조한 사진의 사회적 기능이 무척 약화되었다. 반면에 사진의 예술적 지위는 대단히 상승했다. 이에 따라, 사진과 사진행위를 둘러싼 사회적 계급간의 관계들도 변했을 것이라 가정할 수 있다. 물론 이러한 계급간의 관계의 변화는 이후의 연구들을 통해 입증되어야 할 것이지만 적어도 오늘날, 부르디외가 연구를 진행했던 시기처럼 단호하게 사진을 중간예술이라고 규정하는 것은 무리가 있어 보인다. 따라서 부르디외의 작업을 현재의 상황에 무비판적으로 적용하기 전에 그 작업을 1960년대의 프랑스라는 사회적이고 역사적인 특수성 안에 위치시키고 사회학, 심리학, 미학, 기호학이 충돌하는 지식의 장 속에서 부르디외의 역할을 살펴봄으로써 그의 연구가 갖는 특성과 한계에 대해 명확히 인식할 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to determine the reliability of distance measurements from the medial border of the scapula to the spinous process of the thoracic vertebrae when obtained using tape and photography measurements. The study included 20 healthy subjects (10 males, 10 females); for a total of 40 scapula measurements. The distance measurements made using tape or photography methods were conducted with the subject in a standing position. Repeated tape and photography measurements were conducted in two sessions on different days by two examiners to assess the inter-rater and intra-rater reliability of the two methods. The reliability of scapular distance measured using tape and photography methods was tested using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC(3,1)) and the standard error of measurement (SEM). The inter-rater reliability of the tape measurement method was excellent (ICC=.77) and the intra-rater reliability was fair to good (ICC=.74). The inter-rater and intra-rater reliabilities of the photography measurement method were excellent (ICC=.76 and .76 respectively). Our results suggest that photography measurement is an objective and qualitative measurement tool for scapular distance measurements.

사진은 사회적으로 매우 중요한 커뮤니케이션 매체이다. 그렇지만 사진에 대한 사회과학적 관심은 그리 높지 않았다. 이 연구의 목적은 사진의 사회적 역할을 살펴보고, 그 중에서도 사진이 사람들을 감시하고, 기록하고, 분류하고, 통제하는 사회 감시자로서의 역할을 살펴보고자 하는 것이다. 사회 감시자로서 사진의 역할을 설명하기 위해 사진이 발명된 19세기 서구 사회를 중심으로 살펴보았고, 푸코가 언급한 판옵티콘, 규율적 기구 등에 대한 설명이 선행되었다. 이것은 권력에 의한 근대적 주체에 대한 지식의 생산이라는 관점에서 사진의 사회적 역할을 설명할 수 있게 하였다. 사회 감시자로서 사진의 역할은 사회의 표준적인 규범에서 벗어난 이들을 억압하고 통제하는 '억압적인 기능'과 체제 내에서의 사회적 성공을 소망하는 순응적인 개인을 만들어내는 '영예로운 기능'으로 구분해서 살펴볼 수 있었다. 그리고 사진의 이러한 역할은 현대 사회에서도 많은 시사점을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 24시간 우리 머리 위에서 우리를 관찰하고 있는 감시 카메라의 역할이 바로 그러할 것이다.

The Korean wave 'Hallyu' has proliferated in China and the trend is remarkable especially in wedding photography. Korean style wedding photography has gained wide popularity among newly married Chinese couples because it is regarded as fresh and trendy. Accordingly, there is an urgent need to develop and supply dress designs for Chinese brides who want Korean style wedding photography. This study outlined the current status of Hallyu and wedding photography in China in order to analyze dresses for wedding photography. Chinese brides were analyzed to outline the features of preferred designs. The dresses preferred by Chinese brides for wedding photography included wedding dresses, evening dresses, and casuals (respectively), and partly featured traditional dresses. The preferred design elements for wedding dresses and evening dresses were ball gown silhouettes, strapless necklines, and gather detail. As for the casuals preferred by Chinese brides, the romantic style was most preferred and the skirts, dresses, T-shirts and blouse items were preferred for the romantic style. Through the analysis, dress designs for Chinese brides who want Korean style wedding photography were developed to reflect Hallyu content as well as 2012 S/S fashion trends for wedding dresses, evening dresses, and casuals. Currently Korean style wedding photography is gaining popularity in China and Hallyu content is considered a fresh and competitive item that may strongly appeal to Chinese consumers. This study focused on the development of designs for wedding photography dresses with Hallyu related content and is to be used as a reference for the development of Hallyu related wedding products as well as the proliferation of Hallyu.

국내의 사진교육의 현실은 사진의 특성인 의미론과 언어성 그리고 새로운 예술개념의 표현가능성을 생략하고, 대체로 실기교육으로 구성하여 직업교육이라는 틀 안에서 이미 확장된 사진의 의미를 축소시키고 있다. 이 글의 초점은 지나친 실기 중심의 사진교육을 시각적 언어성을 기초로 한 이론과 조화를 이루어 단순한 기록이나 전달이 아닌 보다 폭 넓은 시각예술로서 연구하고 교육할 수 있어야 한다는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 먼저 사진과 관련된 이론과 교육관련 연구를 고찰하였다. 사진 이론의 대표적인 연구자인 라즐로 모호이-너지와 발터 벤야민 그리고 수잔 손택의 논의들을 살펴본 뒤에, 대학을 중심으로 교육계에 이론을 강조하는 빅터 버긴, 사이몬 와트니 그리고 데이비드 베이트의 선험적 결과를 분석하였다. 이어서 자키아 등과 이왈드의 교육 실제를 탐색하여 사진이 초등교육부터 대학에 이르기까지 어떻게 활동하고 기능하였는가를 논의하였다. 말미에서는 앞에서 연구된 논의를 통해 도출된 사진의 예술이론과 교육적인 접근에 근거하여 한국에서의 사진 교육이 가져야 할 과제와 방향은 무엇인지를 제안하면서 결론을 맺었다.
