This study investigated the causes of the dislikes of Practical Arts education of elementary school students. This study was to provide the foundation for the proposition of alternative plans to make more students participate pleasantly and actively in Practical Arts classes. Data were collected via an open-ended survey from 273 elementary school students and through telephone interviews with five elementary school teachers. The data were analyzed inductively by NVivo. After the analysis of the student data, the analysis of the teacher data was conducted according to the variables from the student data. The results of this research were as follows: First, with regard to the causes of the students' dislikes of Practical Arts classes, extrinsic factors such as instruction management, instruction content, teaching facilities and equipment, and teacher characteristics were elicited. Intrinsic factors included complaints about failing to meet students' expectation from Practical Arts, negative perception of Practical Arts, the interest, competency, and fear of the students. Secondly, the students who learned Practical Arts from the Practical Arts specialty teachers gave more answers on instruction management, instruction content, and teacher characteristics than the students who learned Practical Arts from their homeroom teachers did. The students who learned Practical Arts from their homeroom teachers answered that they disliked Practical Arts because of lack of lab facilities and practice than their counterparts did. The analyses of teacher data provided the reasons and contexts of the dislikes of the students such as teaching facilities and equipment, and the anxiety of the students.
In this study, mathematics teachers' awareness of the need for motivation and its utilization in the actual classes were analyzed through a survey. As a result, the mathematics teachers answered positive on the need for motivation but the attempts for motivation in actual classes were rather low. In addition, they answered that teacher training for motivation were helpful in actual classes. Among Keller's ARCS, the strategies mathematics teachers recognized necessary and those used frequently in actual classes often showed generally consistent, and the need for motivation and the degree of utilization got highest score in motivation sector. On the other hand, mathematics teachers need to acknowledge specific utilization strategies of ARCS but showed incompetent in utilizing them in actual classes. Thus, in order to efficiently utilize the strategies for motivation in mathematics classes, mathematics teachers needed practical teacher training, specific instruction methods, researches on practical instructional methods and in-service, and administrative supports for the activations of teacher's study group and mentor system.
Flipped learning research has been applied in various educational fields since 2015 and the educational effects have been discussed in previous literature. In the beauty field, flipped learning research is insufficient; in particular, it is difficult to find research on flipped learning specifically concerning nail beauty education. The purpose of this study is to develop a model for applying flipped learning to nail beauty education which should involve practical training based on theory. Such an approach is considered effective. Data were collected and analyzed focusing on previous studies with flipped learning applied as a research method. The subject of the research is "Nail Color Design 1", a common nail major elective subject at J college. The "Nail Color Design 1" course is a practice-oriented course in the form of theory and practical classes. Consequently, the flipped learning education model for nail beauty was designed by reflecting learners' needs through the ADDIE instructional design model. It was applied based on the education structure of the Pre-class, In-class, and Post-class of the PARTNER instructional learning model. This study deviates from the traditional practical education model, and has educational significance as a practical model in which flipped learning is applied to nail beauty subjects and self-reflection is derived through project practice.

This study aimed to present a concrete and systematic lesson design model for practical problem-based learning in Practical Arts based on the backward design model. To this purpose, this study was conducted in the following four stages: analysis, design, development, and evaluation. In the analysis stage, the literature related to the practical-problem-based curriculum and the instructional design model were reviewed as the theoretical foundations, and the 2015 revision of Practical Arts curriculum was analyzed. In the design stage, based on the literature review, the stages and sub-elements of practical-problem-based learning in Practical Arts were determined, and a template of instructional design was constructed. In the development stage, the design model was drafted based on the stages and sub-elements determined at the design stage. In the evaluation stage, the drafted design model from the development stage was evaluated, modified, and enhanced through expert verification. Based on the suggestions from the experts, the 'practical problem setting' stage was added to the original three-stage model, resulting in a model composed of the following four stages: practical problem setting, goal setting, evaluation planning, and learning activity planning. The experts appraised that the developed model of practical-problem-based instructional design in Practical Arts to be a systematic template that would serve as a concrete guideline for teachers who are trying to design classes based on practical problems.

The purpose of this study is to design and develop a Metaverse ZEP platform-based teaching and learning process plan by selecting learning topics that are commonly dealt with among the core concepts of the "family" area of practical (technical and home) subjects. To this end, a teaching and learning process plan was developed through planning, Metaverse platform design, expert review, and revision stages. The Metaverse ZEP "Open Class Day" platform, a virtual learning space, was created and developed to further utilize EduTech programs, such as Padlet, Mentimeter, Jamboard, Miricanvas, and Spatial. The teaching and learning process plan developed in this study consists of a total of seven sessions, including approaching EduTech, Changing Families, Exploring Our Family, and Counseling Centers 1, 2, and 3. Among them, Geumji Counseling Center 1, 2, and 3 was designed as a class in which parents and children participate together in open classes using the ZEP platform. This platform can be used as part of parent classes as well as to encourage online participation in the open classes held periodically at each individual school. In terms of the content validity ratio (CVR) of the developed teaching and learning process verified through five experts, 12 out of 15 questions had a CVR of 1, while the remaining three questions had a CVR of 0.6. The three questions with lower validity were revised and supplemented.

This study analyzed the influencing factors of learning engagement and teaching presence in online programming practice classes. The subjects of this study were students enrolled in an industrial specialized high school, who practiced creating Arduino circuits and programming using a web-based virtual practice tool called Tinkercad. This research adopted a tool that can measure task value, learning flow, learning engagement, and teaching presence. Based on this analysis, learning flow had a mediating effect between task value and online learning engagement, as well as between task value and teaching presence. Increasing learning engagement in online classes requires sensitizing the learners about task value, using hands-on platforms available online, and expanding interaction with instructors to increase learning flow of students. Furthermore, using virtual hands-on tools in online programming classes is relevant in increasing learning engagement. Future research tasks include: confirming the effectiveness of online learning engagement and teaching presence through pre- and post-tests, and conducting research on various practical subjects.

Non-Contact society has arrived due to social distinctions by COVID 19 pandemic. The arrival of the era of non-contact is having a profound impact on educational activities as well as on our social and economic lives. In response to the pandemic situation universities and all other educational institutions have implemented non-contact online classes. In particular arts physical educations and other practical classes are experiencing many difficulties due to the limited environment caused by social distancing from COVID 19 pandemic. Vocal classes are undergoing a transition mainly from 1:1 individual face-to-face lessons or group teaching methods to the non-contact era of online teaching or lesson methods. It is necessary to look at the direction of non-face-to-face practical classes in preparation for accelerated educational innovation. Edu-tech, which innovates technology in the wake of the age of non-contact after COVID 19 pandemic is expected to begin in earnest at school sites in Korea which have remained in the traditional way of education. The purpose of this study is to effectively non-contact vocal instructional methods by cogitating the current state of higher practical education and vocal classes in Korea. In addition, This study conducted two components of satisfied instructions such as 'Priorlearning of monitoring of recorded singing', and 'Immediate analyzing of various vocal contents and supplementary lessons of music theory' with a research on the peos and cons of non-face-to-face vocal class. Over a period of time, The effective non-contact of vocal instructional methods is in need to supplement non-face-to-face vocal class problems and further research and system construction with non-face-to-face vocal class's pros and cons to construct high-quality lecture contents is warranted.

In recent years, Korea encourages teachers to do STEAM education(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics), which includes Arts to STEM education to train creative science technology talent. Related to this, we developed a subject substitute STEAM program for the 6th grade students in elementary school and applied it in a field. The STEAM program which substitutes contents in curriculum related to Energy unit was developed and it was taught to twenty four sixth grade students during regular classes. During the classes, all activities of students were observed and they were written in recording notes during the observation. After all STEAM program ended, how students recognize the subject substitute STEAM program compared to general class, understand learning contents and think about the program before and after the STEAM classes were analyzed through questionnaire and interviews. The results were as follows. First, some students had difficulty in reconciling different ideas in group, creative thinking and crafts but most students liked the STEAM classes because many activities are fun and it is easy to understand. Second, learners regarded practical use of knowledge, learning different subjects together and interests as the reasons they can understand learning contents easily during STEAM program. Third, learners recognized STEAM classes are good to understand knowledge, think creative ideas and improve social skills after the STEAM classes while they showed anticipation, worry and fear before taking the classes. It is found that a subjective substitute STEAM program is helpful to increase learners' interests in learning, understand learning contents, increase creativity and have a good personality through a qualitative research.

The aim of this study is to present a practical teaching plan for liberal arts English classes that target foreign students. Foreign learners who do not have Korean language proficiency at the university level may struggle to understand the contents of liberal arts classes conducted by Korean language professors. In this study, six topics were selected (K-culture, Online game, Harry Potter, Disney, Marvel, DC) and topic-centered participatory class activities using various media were developed. A questionnaire was conducted to analyze learners' attitudes toward and perceptions regarding topic-oriented classes. It showed that learners' satisfaction with topic-based classes was high (75%), and the reasons for this high level of satisfaction were the instructors' caring attitudes, the comfortable class atmosphere, and the fun learners had in class. Learners also reported high satisfaction with various participatory class activities (81.9%), citing the learning benefits, their increased interest and motivation, and the efficiency of participatory classes. As globalization continues to increase the number of foreign students in South Korea, the need to develop realistic class plans and various class activities that are suitable for them is becoming more and more urgent.
The main objective of this research was to investigate the Korean food (Hansik) Curriculum of Culinary Art & Science related department of mainly four-year universities in Korea. To accomplish this study, we performed an analysis regarding curriculum data from the homepage of nine universities. The method of this research was conducted by content analysis. The classification according to content analysis was conducted to 1) current status regarding Korean Food related curriculum, 2) a study on the Korean food related theoretical curriculum, and 3) a study on the Korean food related practical curriculum. As a result of this study, the most common opened curriculum was 'a study on the Korean food related practical curriculum'. The largest curriculum among 'a study on the Korean food related practical curriculum' was the Korean cooking skill of basic and intermediate. The following curriculum was the Korean traditional and royal cuisine related curriculum. These two curriculum were found based on data of Culinary related departments of mainly four-year universities in Korea. To summarize these results, in the cases of the general culinary-related departments, Korean food-related classes will need expansion. In addition to Korean food-related departments, increasing the opening of classes to learn regarding Korean foods will be needed.
