  • Conventional disinfectants and disinfection method are expensive, hazardous and often require long periods of exposure. Recently, there is growing interest in complex disinfection process as a disinfection technique in medical instruments such as endoscope, hand piece bur to improve the disinfection efficiency and conveniency. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of a new complex process for the purpose of disinfection of Escherichia coli in water. Three single process (electrolysis, UV and ultrasonic process) was combined dual and triple disinfection process. The order of disinfection performance for E. coli in dual process lie in: Electrolysis + UV > Electrolysis + Ultrasonic > UV + Ultrasonic process. Disinfection efficiency of E. coli and degradation of N, N-Dimethyl-4-nitrosoaniline (RNO, indicating material of OH radical formation) of dual process was higher than that of the triple process (Electrolysis + UV + Ultrasonic process). In electrolysis + UV process, disinfection tendency was well agreed with RNO degradation tendency.

  • In industry, several casting process are widely used to manufacture complex and accurate blank part of hard materials such as aluminum, casting steels, bronze and magnesium alloys which are difficult to manufacture in a blank shape. Even if the casting process does not high accuracy superior surface characteristics other machining process, the casting process is widely used in manufacturing blank part. Furthermore, it is difficult to select appropriate casting process a part among several casting process. for effective selection different process, a careful decision given casting application is necessary. An appropriate casting for a given material and shape condition must be selected for novice engineers in industry. In this paper, an expert system based on an analytic network process(ANP) is suggested for best selection of casting considering a prior interdependency effect among various factors such as material, geometry, process capability, economy and equipment.

  • This study investigated the treatment of acetaminophen in municipal wastewater by conventional ozonation, ozone-based advanced oxidation, ozone/UV, and the electro-peroxone process. The ozone/UV process and electro-peroxone process of electric power consumption increased 1.25 and 2.04 times, respectively, compared to the ozone process. The pseudo-steady OH radical concentration was the greatest in the electro-peroxone process and lowest in the ozone process. The specific energy consumption for TOC decomposition of the ozone/UV process and electro-peroxone process were 22.8% and 15.5% of the ozone process, respectively. Results suggest that it is advantageous in terms of degradation performance and energy consumption to use a combination of processes in municipal wastewater treatment, rather than an ozone process alone. In combination with the ozone process, the electrolysis process was found to be more advantageous than the UV process.

  • Recently, business process management has become an important concept to define and execute business process. During the execution of the collaborative business processes defined by the consensus with manufacturing enterprises, a lot of variations can be occurred by various internal and external factors related to business. From this reason, manufacturing enterprises have tried to seek for a technology to define and execute the collaborative business process systematically under the dynamic situations approving process variation. This study defines the collaborative business process among manufacturing enterprises at first and proposes its execution technology under the dynamic situations. Here, the proposed execution technology includes the authority management of each process, sub-process, and activity for security, the forced execution of the incomplete process containing the undefined sub-process, the re-execution in a certain range of business process for correcting errors, and the dynamic selection of sub-process. Furthermore, this study implements a prototype system to check the validity of its application under the dynamic situations.

  • The palpation of spinous process and transverse process of vertebra are important part of the assesment and treatment from Orthopedic manual therapy. But the palpation area is descriptive differently each of literatures. So we generally got these outcomes. : There are C2, C3, C4 and C6 process as a bony landmarks and these are important part of establish the precise location of pain appears from cervical spine. Even though C7 process regard a prominent part, it is hard to distinguish C6 and process of T1. Thru that differentiation, grab the patient's forehead and try them cervical and hyper-extension check any movement of process or put on the fingers on C7 preocess and check the movement. The palpation of thoracic spine process is the land mark which determines general level orientation in the spine easily, there are T2, T7 spinous process. However, It is depends on how do you test the patient's arm when you palpate it and it can effect on spinous process. The transverse process of C1 is the only spot for palpation in cervical spine, and T1-3, T12 transverse process can palpate it when it stands on the process. The end of T4-6, T11 is placed on middle on vertebra of transverse process and transverse process. T7-9, T10 transverse process is place on same position as spinous process which is upper part of the spine.

  • Any design process is interwoven with numerous intermediate design representations and information. On the other hand, designers proceed the design through various activities. It has always been a difficult task to model the design process, yet there are many significant research outputs that explain the design process through the cognitive approaches. This research started from the necessity of an interactive system which externalize the elements of design process in a visual or tangible manner. In order to do so, a design model, specifically a design process representation model was necessary to capture and represent design process. Several concepts such as design issue, design concept, and design form were defined through the empirical studies of design practices. The assumption is that the design process can be effectively captured by the presented system and it can help both designers and tutors review and analyze the design process. It should also help novice designers learn from expert designer's design process patterns. The system represents design process pattern in a interactive graphic environment. It also provides various useful features to enhance the analysis of design process. This paper presents theoretical groundwork and development process of the design process visualizer. The representation model is presented, and the application of the system is reviewed. Discussions on the further development directions include critical evaluation of the system.

  • High variance observed in the measurement system can cause high process variation that can affect process capability badly. Therefore, measurement system analysis is closely related to process capability analysis. Generally, the evaluation for measurement system and process variance is performed separately in the industry. That is, the measurement system analysis is implemented before process monitoring, process capability and process performance analysis even though these analyses are closely related. This paper presents the effective concurrent evaluation procedure for measurement system analysis and process capability analysis using the table that contains Process Performance (Pp), Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (%R&R) and Number of Distinct Categories (NDC). Furthermore, the long-term process capability index (Pp), which takes into account both gage variance and process variance, is used instead of the short-term process capability (Cp) considering only process variance. The long-term capability index can reflect well the relationship between the measurement system and process capability. The quality measurement and improvement guidelines by region scale are also described in detail. In conclusion, this research proposes the procedure that can execute the measurement system analysis and process capability analysis at the same time. The proposed procedure can contribute to reduction of the measurement staff's effort and to improvement of accurate evaluation.

  • The shipbuilding industry is characterized by order production, and various processes are performed simultaneously in the construction of ships. Therefore, effective management of the production process and productivity improvement form important key factors in the industry. For decades, researchers and process managers have attempted to improve processes by using business process analysis (BPA). However, conventional BPA is time-consuming, expensive, and mainly based on subjective results generated by employees, which may not always correspond to the actual conditions. This paper proposes a method to improve the production process of offshore plant modules by analysing the process mining data obtained from the shipbuilding industry. Process mining uses information accumulated from the system-provided event logs to generate a process model and determine the values hidden within the process. The discovered process is visualized as a process model. Subsequently, alternatives are proposed by brainstorming problems (such as bottlenecks or idle time) in the process. The results of this study can aid in productivity improvement (idle time or bottleneck reduction in the production process) in conjunction with a six-sigma technique or ERP system. In future, it is necessary to study the standardization of the module production processes and development of the process monitoring system.
