  • A large amount of efforts are required to search user's preferred contents for the program contents being provided by IPTV services. In this paper, using collaborative filtering, an automatic recommendation method of IPTV program contents is presented by reasoning similar group preferences on IPTV program contents which constitutes personalized IPTV environments. The proposed method models the user's preference of IPTV program contents with the program attributes such as content, genres, channels actor/actress, staffs and calculates it using the watching history of program contents in different genres and watching times. Also, the proposed method considers timely changing user's preference and the preference oon the content itself, which improves the traditional collaborative filtering methods that can not recommend the non-consumed items.

  • This study explored the effectiveness of the online English learning program contents for elementary school students. The study used the online English learning program served by Gyeonggi province office of education. 107 students attending P elementary school in K city volunteered for the program. After studying English via the website for almost one year, they were asked to respond the questionnaires related to the contents of the online English program. Since the research investigated that the relations of students' grades, the time for the study, their diagnostic test scores, and the effectiveness of the contents, the survey responses were analyzed with Spearman correlation. As a result, older students thought that the type of problem-solving, the type of performing a task, WBI (Web Based Instruction) were not efficacious. Also, these types of online English program were chosen as ineffective from the students at the higher level. Whereas the type of private lesson, the lessons based on a story, and the type of animation were preferred to the students who spent longer time on the website. This highlights the need to consider the students' characteristics such as students' grades, the time for the study, and their English level when developing the contents of the online English learning program.

And then the developing unit was selected and the CAI types and the developing direction were set according to the analysis of the CAI programs and related literatures on home economics teaching, The four phases-analysis, design, development, and formative evaluation-were carried out in this study. The results of this study are as following: 1. The CAI porgram was developed on health and food life units. The program contains 12 classes on health and food life in two floppy diskettes. It consisted of total 9,000 lines and 76 frame and takes two hours to study this program. This program could be used in educational computers an could be utilized for unit learing tutorial. It was composed of three parts-unit learning, finding maze, and finding food. In the unit learning part, the learning contents in health and food life units were structured and presented. In finding maze and food part, the basic and the applied problems were presented with game. The characteristics of this program were as followings: (1)This program was able to bring learners’motivation due to the strategies of tutorial and instructional game and they can interestingly learn the program for themselves. (2) The learner could practive the learning contents repeatedly and unit learning while playing the gaming, (3) The learner himself can review and supplement the learning contents without teacher’s help. (4) This program was developed to unit learning on health and food life, on the other hand so far many CAI programs for home economics teaching were developed for studying separate learning units. 2. • The Interdisciplinary-Multistrategic Science Education Program(IMSEP) is designed as an efficient program for the education of the gifted in science. An example of the contents is developed, which encompasses mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, and biology. In the program, the complexity(interdisicplinarity) of scientific contents and instructional strategies used to deliver the scientific contents are designed to be correlated to each other in such a way that as the scientific contents gets more complex, the scientific skill to be taught by the instructional strategy becomes deeper. Through the careful balance between the scientific contents and the instructional strategies student's scientific knowledge and scientific skill will develop balanced and the effectiveness of science education will be maximized.
