Whitehead's Concept of Proposition and Creative Advance of Nature (화이트헤드의 명제론 연구 - 화이트헤드의 명제론과 현실의 창조적 전진 -)

  • Whitehead's metaphysics and philosophy of nature rest on his awareness of the metaphysical problem of the relation between "I", the "creative advance" and forces of the universe. Whitehead attempted to systematize human experience of the world based on logical explorations. In this context it is important to note that his discussion of proposition and language is closely connected with his works on a systematic theory of nature. Whitehead proposes a metaphysical concept of proposition also based on the creative advance of the universe. His theory of proposition is designed to show that human language is constructions of the relations between logical and real events in the creative universe which refer to a particular point of view. In this view, a variety of verbal possibilities in the multiple worlds can be realized in the same proposition. For Whitehead the emergence of novelty in the function of proposition is an essential property of the creative universe. This paper will try to give a discussion to Whitehead's theory of proposition with regard to the emergence of nature. Especially I emphasize in this paper Whitehead's idea and meaning of proposition for the development of the creative advance of nature as one aspect of particular importance.

A Study on the Development of Teaching Materials about Utilizing Counterexmples Focusing on Proposition in High School (고등학교 명제 단원에서 반례 활용에 관한 교수·학습 자료 개발 연구)

  • Theory and fundamentals of mathematics consist mostly of proposition form. Activities by research of the proposition which leads to determine the true or false, justify the true propositions and refute with counterexample improve logical reasoning skills of students in emphases on mathematics education. Also, utilizing of counterexamples in school mathematics combines mathematical knowledge through the process of finding a counterexample, help the concept study and increase the critical thinking. These effects have been found through previous research. But many studies say that the learners have difficulty in generating counterexamples for false propositions and materials have not been developed a lot for the counterexample utilizing that can be applied in schools. So, this study analyzed the current textbook and examined the use of counterexamples and developed educational materials for counterexamples that can be applied at schools. That materials consisted of making true & false propositions and students was divided into three groups of academic achievement level. And then this study looked at the change of the students' thinking after counterexample classes. As a study result, in all three groups was showed a positive change in the cognitive domain and affective domain. Especially, in top-level group was mainly showed a positive change in the cognitive domain, in upper-middle group was mainly showed in the cognitive and the affective domain, in the sub-group was mainly found a positive change in the affective domain. Also in this study shows that the class that makes true or false propositions in education of utilizing counterexample, made students understand a given proposition, pay attention to easily overlooked condition, carefully observe symbol sign and change thinking of cognitive domain helping concept learning regardless of academic achievement levels of learners. Also, that class gave positive affect to affective domain that increase interest in the proposition and gain confidence about proposition.

Propositions and Judgments in the Intuitionistic Type Theory (직관주의적 유형론에서의 명제와 판단)

  • We explain some basic elements of Martin-L$\ddot{o}$f's type theory and examine the distinction between propositions and judgments. In section 1, we introduce the problem. In section 2, we explain the concept of proposition in the intuitionistic type theory as a development of the intuitionistic conception of proposition. In section 3, we explain the concept of judgment in the intuitionistic type theory. In section 4, we explain some basic inference rules and examine a particular derivation in the theory. In section 5, we examine one route from the Fregean distinction between propositions and judgments to the distinction between them in the intuitionistic type theory, paying attention to the alleged necessity for introducing different forms of judgments.

A Study on the Effects of Employee Value Proposition and the Importance of Job Rotation on the Subjective Career Success (호텔 종사원의 직원가치와 직무순환 중요도가 경력성공에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • This study analyzed the effects of Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and the impotance of a job rotation system on the subjective career success. The total 379 samples were surveyed from employees engaging in domestic hotel enterprises located in Seoul using convenient sampling method. The result of this research is as followings. First, EVP has total 5 factors('career development,' 'affiliation,' 'work environment,' 'work content' and 'pay & reward') and job rotation has total 3 factors('individual capacity improvement,' 'procedural justice,' and 'career development'). Second, the results of hypotheses test using a series of multiple regression analysis indicate that EVP factors including 'career development,' 'affiliation,' 'work environment,' and 'work content' influence subjective career success. However, EVP factor of 'pay & reward' does not influence subjective career success. Similarly, EVP factors excluding 'pay & reward' affect a job rotation system. Lastly, a job rotation system positively affects subjective career success. Based on the analysis results, we could draw the importance of the non-financial reward instead of financial reward in the perception of employees' subjective career success. As a research implication, the importance of the creative organization culture was suggested in the conclusion section.

  • In this study, we tried to make clear the meaning of implication, and inquired into Piaget's theory on the development of children's logical thinking focussing on implication. Because the progressive development of the notion of implication is very important to learn the meaning of conditional proposition, we searched a sequence for the learning implication on basis of Piaget's theory.

  • This research was carried out to show the method of preserving high-grade farmland or Agricultural Development Area to contribute to the self-sufficiency of food as well as promotion of industrialization and urbanization, which has reduced 22,000 ha of farmland per year during last 10 years. However, in securing housing estate areas, the farmland conservation policy conflicts with housing supply policy for demands on more comfortable dwelling life for people, which leads to serious situation in Capital Circle of living more than 50 % of total national population. Therefore, this presents the method of fulfillment both the farmland conservation policy for self-sufficiency of food and the housing supply policy for proposition of securable residential areas.

  • This primary study describes some proposition of restoration and rehabilitation of rail station and station impact area for efficient use. Therefore, I reviewed the functions and roles about rail station and other railway facilities related with urban structures and development, and also analysed the case studies about realignment of rail station, and then, suggested primary management plan of efficient railway installation. This study has some bounds and limits owing to the descriptive reviews but not detailed analyses. Hereafter, I am planning to consider the management plan for efficient railway installation use as coinciding with specific city characteristic and comprehensive plan such as rearrangement of the station.

The Effects of Online Mathematical Contents on Young Children's Number Operations and Attitudes toward Mathematical Activities (온라인 수학 콘텐츠가 유아의 수 연산 발달과 수학적 접근 태도에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was conducted to examine the effects of mathematical activities with online mathematical contents on children's arithmetic development and attitudes toward mathematical activities. Pre- and post-tests were administered to 62 5-year-old children. Differences of children's arithmetic development level and attitudes toward mathematical activities were found between the experimental group using online mathematical contents and the control group using offline mathematical contents. All findings proved that online mathematical contents were effective and had positive influences on children's arithmetic development and attitudes toward mathematical activities. This supports the proposition that online mathematical contents can provide an important means to the improvement of children's mathematical development and attitudes toward mathematical activities.

  • The current global spread of communal residential culture and the trend of continuing increase of newly built apartment environment are increasing the demand of home network products for each residential space and among households. The continuing advancement of ubiquitous and the introduction and development of home network system are promoting the demand for the product design. The residential culture change and the apartment interior design change are having mutual effects on the lifestyle of residents and the product design and demand new product design. Coordination with interior products, interior style and products, product and fashion design and reconstruction and fusion between the products and their element factors are the core element of this design study. Based on this, integrated design strategy and concept research and analysis were studied for the design process, and have been expressed in three dimension design through which the design functionality and the external aesthetical design can correspond to each other. It's because the aspect of the future development prospect can be predicted in detail by presenting practical design plan.

The Relationship between Korean Construction Industry and GDP in Economic Development Process (한국경제성장과정의 건설산업과 GDP의 관계 분석)

  • Construction industry is broadly agreed as one of the most important sectors of any economy around the world. In this paper, time series data of Korean construction industry and Korean economy are examined. The Bon's proposition will be inspected for Korean context using both cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses. The analysis of the longer than four decades national account statistic of the Korean macro economy verify Bon's proposition of an inverted U-shaped relationships. The verified U-shaped relationships for Korean context exist not only in terms of the construction share in total GDP but also in terms of total construction volume as an economy develops from LDC to NIC and then to AIC eventually with time. The results of the thesis show that the contribution towards the macro economy has varied across different stages of development.
