  • In a micro-EDM, it is well known that an RC circuit is suitable as a discharge circuit because of its low pulse width and relatively high peak current. To increase machining speed without changing unit discharge energy, charge resistance should be decreased. But, when the resistance is very low, continuous (or normal) arc discharge occurs, electrode wear increases and machining speed is reduced remarkably. In this paper, an RC circuit with transistors is used in a micro-EDM. Experimental results show that the RC circuit with transistors can cut off a continuous (o. normal) arc discharge effectively if the duty factor and switching period of the transistor are set up optimally. Through experiments with varying charge resistances, it is shown that the RC circuit with transistors has about two times faster machining speed than that of an RC circuit.

  • A noble method of delta modulation by means of pair transistor circuit having negative resistance charcteristic is presented. An RC parallel circuit is inserted between two eiuitter tarminals of the pair transistor circuit, and their emitters are driven by a square pulsed current source. Basically this is a relaxation oscillator circuit. But when the value of capacitors and resistanc R, and the pulse height of driving source are properly chosen, the RC parallel circuit apparently functions as integrating circuit of driviving pulses. Compared with the integrated voltage of capacitor C, a signal input voltatage supplied in series with RC parallel circuit between two emitters makes on or off either of the pair transistors. as the result, one bit pulse is sent out from the coupling resistance terminal of conducted transistor. The circuit diagram used for this experiment is presented, it i% composed with simple mod ulster circuit, differential amplifier and pulse shaping amplifier, The characteristics of the components of this ciruit are discussed, and especially quantumized noise in this delta modulation system is discussed in order to improve the signal to noise ratio which has a close relation with circut constants, quantumized voltage, pulse height and width of driving current source.

  • In this article it is shown that a GIC circuit with conversion "s" can be realized and a inductor is realized as a RC active two terminal network by using it instead of a gyrator. It is also shown that arbitary stable transfer functions can be realized as the open-circuit voltage ratio of 2 port networks which include GIC;s. In relizing the GIC circuit using transistors, it is made clear that the nullatornorator model of atransistor can be successfully applied at least in the frequency range below 10kHz. The synthesis method using GIC's is characterized with the followings; First, arbitrary stable transfer functions are realized systematically by repeating very simple network structure. Second, in the overall network all circuit elements except GICs are only resistors. Third, the number of condensers in the overall network necessary for realizing the transfer function of n-th order are n, which is believed to be the least number expected. expected.
