도시철도 역사 WSN 구현을 위한 무선통신 기술 분석 (Investigation of Wireless Communication Technology for the WSN of Subway Station)

  • The trend is that the wireless communication system, which has specific characteristics ; low cost & limitation for installation, has been developed more actively than the wire communication system. Therefore, the communication system has been changed from the wire system with an optical cable to the wireless system in the various field of life. In the railroad field, lots of researches on the wireless communication system for the safety of infrastructure and the convenience of passenger have been conducted. The WSN(Wireless Sensor Network), which means same concept with USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network), pursues the ubiquitous environment which means user can access network at anywhere and anytime. In this paper, the wireless communication technologies which are suitable for the WSN of subway station were investigated and the best solution of WSN was suggested.

LTE-R 기술을 적용한 입환진로표시기 무선제어시스템 연구 (A Study on the Wireless Control System for the Shunting Route Indicator Applied with LTE-R technology)

  • The railway has recently been expanded with the phase of the future transportation. Accordingly, using the new technologies such as smart devices and LTE-R, the needs for reducing operational costs and improving passenger services have emerged. To realize these needs, the government is pushing to build the dedicated wireless network for the railway systems. In this paper, the shunting route indicator was selected for this study because it has the best effect for the wireless system removed lots of wired cables. And the wireless shunting route indicator applied with LTE-R technology was developed to replace the current wired control system. The functional goal(the wireless control function applied LTE-R), the performance goal(less than 300ms for transferring the control information), and the reliability goal(over the 100,000 hours for MTBF) were set, and these goals were achieved and demonstrated through the test and validation.

  • Unlike commercial LTE network, LTE-R railway network is arranged along a railroad track and the base stations of the network (RUs) are also installed on the waysides. For urban railway systems that are composed of underground tunnels, the leakage coaxial cables are widely used due to the radio propagation characteristics in tunnels. In theory, the tunnel sections are interpreted as the waveguide with blank spaces and for this reason, the tunnel sections are expected to be better than open ground sections in terms of the radio propagation characteristics. In this paper, we analyze the radio propagation characteristics based on this theory by replacing the leakage coaxial cables in the network with Yagi antennas. The test has been carried out in the 2.2km tunnel in the Daebul test track of KORAIL with 2.6GHz LTE-R Network. The LTE-R applicability in urban railways has been tested through the analysis on the radio propagation characteristics with the unmanned train operation system in Daebul tunnel.

철도 무선통신 기술동향 및 국내 운용현황 (The Operation Conditions of Domestic Railway Wireless Communication Network and Those Technical Trends)

  • 고속철도를 운영할 뿐 아니라, 고속열차를 생산하는 우리나라는 고속철도를 효율적으로 운용하기 위해 각 분야에서 승차감 향상, 주요부품 자동진단, 차상 전기검측, 소음저감 등 여러 가지 기술을 개발하고 있다. 본 논문은 그 중에서도 철도 무선통신분야의 기술을 이해하기 위해, 유럽과 중국 및 미국의 철도 무선통신시스템의 운용현황을 설명하고, 국내 철도에도 적용될 철도용 LTE 시스템의 기술현황을 소개한다. 아울러 현재 운용하고 있는 국내 철도무선통신망 현황과 4세대 무선통신망에 대한 국가연구개발사업의 개략 및 고속철도 현장에서의 시험계획을 소개한다.

Design of a Bimorph Piezoelectric Energy Harvester for Railway Monitoring

  • Wireless sensor network is one of prospective methods for railway monitoring due to the long-term operation and low-maintenance performances. How to supply power to the wireless sensor nodes has drawn much attention recently. In railway monitoring, the idea of converting ambient vibration energy from vibration of railway track induced by passing trains to electric energy has made it a potential way for powering the wireless sensor nodes. In this paper, a bimorph cantilever piezoelectric energy harvester was designed based on a single degree-of-freedom model. Experimental test was also performed to validate the design. The first natural frequency of the bimorph piezoelectric energy harvester was decreased from 117.1 Hz to 65.2 Hz by adding 4 gram tip mass to the free end of the 8.6 gram energy harvester. In addition, the power generation of the piezoelectric energy harvester with 4 gram tip mass at resonant frequency was increased from 0.14 mW to 0.74 mW from $2.06m/s^2$ base excitation compared to stand-alone piezoelectric energy harvester without tip mass.

남북철도 선로분야 상호운영성 구축를 위한 철도통신정책 제안 (Railway Communication Policy Proposal for Interoperability Implementation of Railroad Line on North-South Korean Railway)

  • 2018년 9월 19일 남북정상의 평양공동선언에서 남북한은 철도 및 도로연결을 추진하기로 합의하였고, 이에 따라 2018년 12월 북한철도 현대화 사업을 위한 남북한 공동조사를 착수하였다. 조사 결과 선로상태는 운행이 불가할 정도로 심각하게 노후화되어 있고, 철도망은 주요도시를 잘 연결하는 구조로 되어 있는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 새로운 철도망을 건설하기 보다는 기존 철도망의 노후화된 선로를 현대화하는 것이 타당하다고 판단되었다. 본 논문은 남북철도 연결에 대비한 상호운용성 및 철도사고 예방을 위한 안전성 강화를 위하여 노반과 궤도의 현황 분석을 통한 단계별 철도선로 개선 그리고 철도무선통신망 구축을 위한 철도통신분야 정책을 제안하였다.

  • 무선랜은 그 사용의 편이성과 우수한 성능 때문에 널리 사용되고 있는 무선접속 방법의 하나이다. 하지만, 사용자가 많아지면 그 성능이 매우 열화 되는 단점이 있다. 혼잡 철도 역사에서는 무선랜에 접속하고자하는 사용자가 많고 특히 열차가 도착하여 승객이 하차할 시 무선랜에 동시 접속을 하려는 사용자의 수가 갑자기 증가하게 된다. 이러한 혼잡 상황에서는 무선랜과 통신을 개시하기 위한 망 접속절차를 수행할 수 없게 되어 무선랜과의 통신이 불가하게 된다. 이 논문에서는 혼잡 철도 역사 상황에서 사용자가 무선랜의 접속을 효과적으로 할 수 있는 무선랜 분산접속 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법을 사용하면 혼잡 상황에서 무선랜 접속에 소요되는 시간을 효과적으로 줄일 수 있게 되어 Communication Based Train Control (CBTC)에 사용하는 무선랜의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있다.

전기철도 전력시설 진단용 원격진단시스템 구축을 위한 네트워크 설계 (Network Design for Construction of Remote Diagnosis System for Power Facilities of Electric Railway)

  • This paper is described that advanced study on network design of remote diagnosis system for power facilities of electric railway. In the field, it is very difficult for worker to diagnosis power facilities including catenary because workers should be maintenance on AC power supply. Therefore, to properly design on remote diagnosis system, we have searched the inside and outside of the country-related technology trends. Also we confirmed that required technologies to design interface technology required for the development of sensor devices and the USN network was designed in accordance with required skills. Throughout variety of requirements, we have development iRFS based ZA sensors and iRFM to receive data of sensor. Also CC2420 is applied as single-chip which used 2.4GHz IEEE802.15.4 compliant RF tranciver designed for low-power and low-voltage wireless applications for ZigBee communication.

  • According to the conventional train control system, the area of each train is detected by plural track circuits located in a constant distance on railway lines in order to control a distance between trains. The conventional train control system has the difficulty in making use of the substructure thoroughly and transmitting enormous amount of information. To solve those problems, the wireless CBTC system has been a global issue. To apply wireless CBTC system to train system, the following two requirements are preferentially necessary: (1) Dualizing wireless CBTC system to control trains ceaselessly in a system accident, (2) Improving dependency of transmitted information for location and velocity to protect collision and derailment of lightweight trains in advance.

  • 현재 국내외적으로 차세대 철도 무선망에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며, 지금까지 열차제어신호 중심의 철도무선망에서 영상 및 대용량 데이터를 전송하기 위한 철도통합 무선망에 대한 연구가 진행 중이다. 본 논문에서는 철도통합 무선망 구축을 위한 무선통신방식과 우리나라에서 사용하고 있는 주파수대역에서 철도 전용주파수 대역으로 할당이 가능한 후보 주파수대역을 제안한다. 본 연구내용은 국내 철도의 열차 운행효율 향상은 물론 철도의 안전성과 편의성 최적화에 기여할 것이며, 세계 기술시장 변화에 대응하는 무선통신기반의 한국형 철도 통합무선망 구축을 실현 할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.
