연료전지 발전시스템을 이용한 축소형 철도차량의 운전곡선 추종에 따른 추진제어장치 특성 고찰 (A Study on Propulsion Control Device Characteristics of Small-scale Electric Railway Vehicle according to Driving Curve Tracking using Fuel Cell Generation System)

  • The study in railway system to apply a fuel cell system with high efficiency and mobility than other renewable energy is being actively conducted. It is needed a analysis on load characteristics and control method of rolling stock in order to apply to rolling stock. This paper presents study on control small-scale prototype power converter electric railway vehicle using fuel cell generation system. Experiment is conducted through real fuel cell generation system and reference speed applying the driving curve of the actual electric railway vehicle was applied. Also, output voltage of boost converter is controlled considering characteristic of fuel cell. And it was confirmed characteristic according to powering and regeneration of inverter.

  • In this study, the simplified method for 3-dimensional vehicle-bridge interaction analysis is utilized in the analysis of dynamic behavior of bridges in which the eccentricity of axle loads and the effect of the torsional forces acting on the bridge are included for the more accurate vehicle-bridge interaction analysis. Investigations mainly into the influence of vehicle speed on vehicle-bridge interactions are carried out for case that two trains move respectively on their tracks in the opposite direction.

철도안전법과 도시철도안전법을 적용한 도시형 자기부상열차의 충돌안전도 해석 (Crashworthiness Analysis of the Urban Maglev Vehicle according to Korean Railway Safety Law and Urban Transit Safety Law)

  • This paper studied on the application of the crashworthiness regulations of Korean Railway Safety Law and Urban Transit Safety Law to the urban Maglev vehicle of KIMM. The Urban Maglev vehicle has to comply with the crashworthiness regulations for urban transit vehicles. The collision load cases have been simulated by using explicit finite element analysis. From the numerical results, the crashworthiness regulations of the Urban Transit Safety Law were completely satisfied, but maximum crash pulse requirement in 25 km/h crash event and no plastic deformation requirement in 10 km/h crash event in the Korean Railway Safety Law were not. If a commercial urban Maglev vehicle is developed in the near future, it is necessary that some soft buffing and energy absorbing devices are adopted in its front end so as to satisfy the crashworthiness regulations of the Korean Railway Safety Law.

공진회피를 위한 철도차량의 고유진동수 해석 및 측정에 관한 연구 (Investigating Natural Frequency Analysis and Measurement of Railway Vehicle to Avoid Resonance)

  • This paper deals with the natural frequency analysis and two experiments to evaluate first twisting and bending natural frequency of railway vehicle. The KS R 9228 testing method is generally performed as pseudo FRF(frequency response function) which is widely used by two accelerometers. The exciting method is utilized using the load weight(1 ton release). The modal testing is used to verify KS R 9228 testing result and the natural frequency analysis result. The first twisting and bending natural frequency should be above 10 Hz by resonance which is mostly generated between bogie and vehicle frame exciting low frequency. The first twisting and bending natural frequency of railway vehicle are successfully verified between analysis and test.

  • Auxiliary power supply for railway vehicle is a equipment that focuses on the service of passengers in a vehicle. It supplies power to controllers used in heating and cooling devices, fluorescent lamps, batteries and many other electrical equipments. Most of the auxiliary power supply for railway vehicle are mainly used for the round trips and circulation routes within the metropolitan area and have a capacity of 170~200 kVA. In this study, we developed the auxiliary power supply capacity to 240kVA for 200km/h class. As such, the auxiliary power supply is an important device for securing the reliability and safety of the railway vehicle and improving the passenger convenience, so the performance verification of the performance must be ensured. In this paper, 240kVA auxiliary power supply is developed. Also, performance of the auxiliary power supply manufactured through the analysis of various characteristics related to the auxiliary power supply was confirmed while operating the actual line.

  • Railway vehicle battery is supplying the power required for the initial start-up of the train, in the event of a fault in the vehicle, or catenary for supplying emergency power is one of the components are very important. Currently, the railway vehicles such as nickel-cadmium batteries are being used [1,2]. Ni-Cd batteries as a battery installed in the railway vehicles have a strong corrosion resistance is included, The charge-discharge performance is significantly degraded in cold weather, there is a danger of deterioration or explosion. Train accidents have been caused a lot of damage due to rapid deterioration and cracking of the battery and memory due to the effect of Ni-Cd batteries. In order to solve the problems, There is no risk of degradation, deterioration and leakage, cracking and exploding. maintenance is simple and applied measures proposed to apply Lithium Polymer battery of high performance. In addition, the lack of capacity problems identified by testing the different special systems is replaced by a 70Ah lithium-polymer battery is possible without changing the batteries of 50Ah caused by installing additional equipment in existing older trains were applied to the vehicle.

축소터널 철도차량 화원 설계 및 임계속도 측정연구 (Design of Fire Source for Railway Vehicles and Measurement of Critical Velocity in Reduced-Scale Tunnels)

  • 본 연구에서는 축소모형을 이용한 철도터널의 화재안전성 평가 실험시 필요한 축소모형 철도차량의 화재에 대한 설계를 수행하였다. 기존의 철도터널 축소모형 실험시 활용된 방법의 단점을 극복하기 위하여 화재부력을 위하여서는 메탄올 화원을 이용하였으며, 연기 가시화를 위하여서는 스모크카트리지를 활용하여 철도차량 화재를 모사하였다. 지하철 철도차량의 열방출률의 모사를 위하여 다양한 메탄올 연료 팬에 대하여 콘칼로리미터(ISO 5660) 및 저울을 이용하여 열방출률을 측정하였다. 설계된 축소모형 철도차량 화원을 이용하여 축소모형 철도터널에서의 임계속도를 측정하였다. 화재 임계속도는 축소모형 터널 상부에서의 온도 및 레이져를 이용한 가시화 측정결과 등을 종합적으로 검토하여 선정하였다.

Analysis of high-speed vehicle-bridge interactions by a simplified 3-D model

  • In this study, the analysis of high-speed vehicle-bridge interactions by a simplified 3-dimensional finite element model is performed. Since railroads are constructed mostly as double tracks, there exists eccentricity between the vehicle axle and the neutral axis of cross section of a railway bridge. Therefore, for the more efficient and accurate vehicle-bridge interaction analysis, the analysis model should include the eccentricity of axle loads and the effect of torsional forces acting on the bridge. The investigation into the influences of eccentricity of the vehicle axle loads and vehicle speed on vehicle-bridge interactions are carried out for two cases. In the first case, only one train moves on its track and in the other case, two trains move respectively on their tracks in the opposite direction. From the analysis results of an existing bridge, the efficiency and capability of the simplified 3-dimensional model for practical application can be also verified.

살수를 이용한 철도곡선구간 스퀼소음 저감효과에 관한 연구 (Effect of Reducing Squeal Noise at Railway of Curve Section by using the Watering)

  • The urban railway has been planned not only the subway, but also the elevated railway in Seoul, South Korea. Therefore, it is steadily increasing civil complaints for railway noise passing through that residential district. In this paper, we focused on noise of squeal characteristics induced by interaction between railway vehicle's wheel and rail. Then we selected the point that carried out scattering water droplet to the rail and compared the noise level of the watering test results before and after. Scattering water test results showed that level of the noise reduced intermittently occurring high frequency characteristics of squeal noise as well as overall noise level. In the future, we will apply the sensor to the sprinkling system for noise reduction where the place of existing squeal noise is, and make a suggestion of this solution will be more economical, environmental-friendly, and appropriate to reduce the squeal noise occurred by railway vehicle than others.

한국철도표준규격 국제규격 부합화 : 자동연결기 (The Conformity of Korean Railway Standards with International Standards : Automatic Coupler)

  • The Korean railway standards (KRS), formerly managed by Korea Railroad (Korail), have been managed by the Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (ML TM). According to Korean railway safety law and its ordinances, which were established for the guarantee of railway safety, the management of KRS including enactment and revision of technical standards for railway vehicle and components, was committed to Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI). Currently, a total of 195 standards has been managed from the various railway applications including track, electrical, and vehicle areas. Moreover, according to the guideline on the management of KRS, the conformity of KRS with international standards is encouraged for the enlargement of international trade. In this investigation, a brief management activity of KRS and the recent activities on conformity of KRS with AAR standards on automatic coupler will be introduced.
