Disturbance Observer Based Anti-slip Re-adhesion Control for Electric Motor Coach

  • This paper proposes a new anti-slip re-adhesion control system fur electric railway vehicle driven by inverter-fed induction motors. This paper introduces an instantaneous tangential farce coefficient estimator between driving wheel and rail, which is based on disturbance observer. The torque command of proposed system regulates to exceed this estimated tangential farce coefficient in order to avoid undesirable slip phenomenon of driving wheels. We have already proposed the anti-slip re-adhesion control system based on disturbance observer for simplified one wheel equivalent model successfully. This paper extend to this system to the actual bogie system, which has four driving wheels driven by two induction motors fed by one inverter. In order to apply anti-slip re-adhesion control to the actual bogie system a new anti-slip re-adhesion control based on both disturbance observer and speed sensor-less vector control of induction motor with quick response are combined. The experimental results and the numerical simulation results prove the validity of the proposed control system.

  • The railroad is a means of large transportation which has many talents such as a safety and a regularity. That is a results from various confidential performance tests and evaluations of the system. The railroad system consist of various subsystems - vehicle, power supply, signal, communications, track structures, operations, etc. Among them, as an item of safety evaluation there is a measurement of wheel/rail force, so called a measurement of derailment coefficient. This is a very important item because a derailment of a train will bring about a big accident. Especially it is more inportant in high speed rail of which operation speed is over two times as fast as existing rail. In this paper, it is introduced to preprocess the wheelset for measuring wheel/rail force of high speed rail, such as to treat a measuring wheelset, its finite element analysis, adhesion of strain gauges and static load test.

전동차 차체 구조물에 대한 구조해석 및 실험에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structural Analysis and Test of an Electric Car-Body)

  • This investigation is the result of a structural analysis by the finite element method and static loading test for the optimal structural design of an electric railway vehicle made of stainless 301L materials. We analyzed the stress and displacement of the existing electric car-body structure for predicting the position of concentrated stress, the flow of stress, rigidity to be occurred in the car-body structure when it is subjected to the vertical load. It was exposed that the side sills and window corners around the bolsters are the weak parts of the electric car-body structure because the bolsters of the electric car-body structure were subjected to the vertical load and dynamic load to be occurred during running. The flow of stress and the cause of stress concentration in the weak zone were studied in order to prevent the concentration of stress and buckling. The rearrangement of the structure and the selection of the beam elements were also carried out for optimum design of the structure.

철도차량용 공기 스프링의 정적 특성 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of Static Characteristics of Railway Vehicle's Airspring)

  • In this study, we performed the static analysis of a cord-reinforced rubber airspring and generated the three-dimensional half-symmetry model which use the finite-strain shell elements to model the airbag. the three-dimensional hydrostatic fluid elements to model the air-filled cavity, and the rebar elements to model the multi-ply nylon reinforcement of airbag. In addition, a three-dimensional rigid surface is used to define the contact between the airspring and metal bead. The air inside the airspring cavity has been modeled as a compressible fluid satisfying the ideal gas law. The conclusions of this study are as follows. 1) In the pressurization step of analysis, we could predict the change of vertical reaction force, cavity volume and pressure within the airspring. 2) In the second step of analyzing vertical static stiffness, the increase of the vertical load increases the vertical stiffness. 3) In case of changing the angle of nylon cord, the increase the angle of nylon cord increases the vertical stiffness.

  • 철도차량 옥상 정비시 산업재해를 방지하기 위해서는 안전성을 확보한 철저한 준비 및 검토가 선행 되어야한다. 차량의 정비시 공정별 위험요소 및 제반 문제점을 도출하여 해결함으로써, 산업 재해를 방지 할수 있다. 차량의 중 정비시 추락 재해는 옥상 작업인 차량의 옥상에서 발생한다. 정비의 특성상 차량을 분리하고, 차량의 대차를 분리 한후, 받침대 위에 차량을 올려놓은 상태에서, 옥상 작업은 안전 시설의 효과적인 설치 및 활용이 어렵다. 4M 에 의한 분석을 통하여, 옥상 작업시 차량의 지붕에 안전 난간을 설치하여, 추락 재해를 방지하고, 심리적 불안감을 해소하여, 안전하게 작업할 수 있는 방안을 연구 하였다.

도시형 자기부상열차 부상제어를 위한 궤도 이음매 검출 및 공극 신호의 보상 방법 (The Methods of Rail Joint Detection and Gap Signal Compensation for Levitation Control of Urban Maglev)

  • The present urban maglev which has been developed in Korea is controlled by 4-edge control method over each bogie. The control output which is derived from two gap sensors and one vertical acceleration sensor controls magnet to maintain a nominal gap. But, the gap signal acts as a big disturbance in rail joint though two gap sensors are used and finally result in unstable response and poor ride comfort. This paper treats of a method to compensate the gap signal in rail joint for the levitation control of urban maglev. The physically abnormal change of gap is detected when one gap sensor passes a rail joint, the disturbance of gap in rail joint is estimated. Finally the disturbance in gap signal is eliminated by processing the information of vehicle speed and estimated disturbance in when the other gap sensor passes a rail joint.

  • This paper presents the over-modulation strategy and indirect vector control drive of NPC type PWM inverter. NPC inverter has three level phase voltage output.It can perform in high voltage through assembling switching components. It has less harmonics and surge voltage stress at motor terminals than the 2 level inverter in same switching frequency through 3 level voltage. The conventional railway vehicle has used the vector control to MI=0.907 and the slip-frequency control from MI=0.907 to six-step mode. The slip-frequency control has bad motive power and slow torque control response. But vector control has good motive power and can instant torque control. In this paper, output voltage is controlled linearly from linear region to six-step mode by using over-modulation strategy. And NPC inverter is used.

  • 한국철도공사는 고속철도의 운행을 계기로 선진철도 정비방법의 습득과 더불어 기존차량에 대한 검수주기 및 방법에 대한 과학적이고 체계적인 시행을 위해 철도차량 RCM적용에 관한 연구를 시행 중이다. 그 동안 철도차량의 부품과 시스템에 대한 기술의 발전이 급속히 이루어지고 있는 것에 비해 정비방법의 발전은 상대적으로 느렸다고 할 수 있다. 이에 한국철도공사에서는 부품과 시스템의 기술발전에 앞서는 정비방법의 적용은 물론이고 차량의 기술적 발전을 리드할 수 있는 정비체계를 구축하고자 노력하고 있다. 고속차량인 KTX를 제외한 기존차량은 전동차, 전기기관차, 디젤기관차, 디젤동차, 객차, 화차 등으로 구분하여 운행되고 있다. 그 중 객차, 화차를 포함한 기존차종에 현행 시행되고 있는 검수 주기 및 방법을 분석하여 개선방향을 찾아 최적의 차량정비 주기 및 방법을 적용하고자 한다.

저상굴절 궤도차량의 AWS ECU 테스트 플랫폼을 위한 가상 주행환경 개발 (Development of the Virtual Driving Environment for the AWS ECU Test Platform of the Bi-modal Tram)

  • A bi-modal tram has been developed to offer an advanced transportation service compared with existing vehicles. The All-Wheel-Steering system is applied to the bi-modal tram to satisfy the required steering performance because the bi-modal tram has extended length and articulated mechanism. An ECU for the steering system is essential to steer wheels on 2nd and 3rd axles by the specific AWS algorithm with the prescribed driving condition. The Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation(HILS) system is planned for the purpose of evaluating the steering system of the bi-modal tram. There are kinematic links with the hydraulic actuator to steer wheels on each 2nd and 3rd axles and also same steering mechanism as the actual vehicle is in the HILS system. Controlling the movement of hydraulic actuator which reflects the lateral steering reaction force on each wheel is the key to realize the HILS system, but the reaction force is continuously changed according to various driving conditions. Therefore, the simulation through the multi-body dynamics model is used to obtain the required forces.

주행 중 철도 차량의 결함 위치 추정 방법 (Fault localization method of a train in cruise)

  • Faults of rotating parts of a train normally generate unexpected frequency band or impulsive sound[1] which has a period when it moves with a constant speed. The former can be detected by the moving frame acoustic holography method, which visualizes sound field that is generated by a moving and emitting pure tone or band limited noise source. We have attempted to apply the method to the latter case: the periodic impulsive sound which generate different signal compared with what can be measured by the band limited noise. The signal to noise ratio which determines the success of early fault detection must also be studied with the impulsive and moving signal. This research shows how the problems related with these issues can be resolved. The main idea is that periodic impulsive signal can be expressed by infinite set of discrete pure tones. This enables us to obtain lots of holograms that visualize periodic impulsive sound field including noise by using the moving frame acoustic holography method. Therefore holograms can be averaged to improve the signal to noise ratio until having reliable information that exhibits where the impulsive sources are.
