Raynaud attempted to clarify the situation concerning symmetrical and spontaneous gangrene in a thesis published in 1952. The disease was defined as Raynaud`s phenomenon without associated and contributing conditions or disease, and described as two types, such as, `locale syncope and asphyxia` and `gangrene`. Predilection of Raynaud`s disease for female under 40 years of age wi-thout any vascular occlusive disease beginning in the early decades of life and typical color changes in the skin of the extremities incited by coldness are outstanding features in this disease. One typical case of Raynaud`s disease is presented with relating references. Patient was 24 year old female single patient, who noted pain, numbness, and cyanosis of the finger tips of both hands for 6 years previously in the winter season, and recently such symptoms were aggravated including her both feet for two years even in the summer after exposure to cold water. Physical and laboratory examination revealed nothing specific except slightly glistening tight face and hypertrophy of both finger tips with clammy coldness. FamiliaI and past history revealed nothing specific abnormal contributory factors. Biopsy of skin on the dorsum of right foot one year before this admission revealed no evidence of scleroderma. Treatment was aimed to relieve vasospasmodic reaction to coldness and was very successful with bilateral lumbar and thoracic sympathectomy. Patient is free of symptoms relating to the Raynaud’s phenomenon after sympathectomy for 6 months including winter season.

Major symptoms of Raynaud's Disease are pain, edema, cyanosis, and redness of hands, feet, nose, and etc. The purpose of this report is to show the curative effect of herbal medicine for Raynaud's Disease. We provided Prescription of Modified Woogyu-yeum(Yougui-yinjiaweifang ) to patient who was diagnosed with Raynaud's Disease three times a day for 22 days. We observed changes of symptoms through Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging, taking photos of both hands, and collecting the survey answered by the patient. Modified Woogyu-yeum reduced pain, edema, and redness of both hands. The frequency of cyanosis decreased after the treatment. Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging proved a rise in temperature of fingertips after the treatment. In conclusion, Modified Woogyu-yeum showed the possibility of effect on Raynaud's Disease.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of acupuncture for the treatment of Raynaud's disease. Methods: This review was conducted using nine electronic databases (CINAHL, CiNii, CNKI, EMBASE, J-STAGE, NDSL, OASIS, PubMed, and WANFANG) and the keywords "Raynaud's disease", "Raynaud disease", "acupuncture", and "needling". Only randomized controlled trials (RCTs) using acupuncture for Raynaud's disease were included, and the methodological quality of the trials was assessed using the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool. Results: After screening, six RCTs were selected among 67, and the total effective rate and peripheral blood flow were used as evaluation methods. In five studies, the total effective rate was significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group. In three studies, peripheral blood flow was higher in the intervention group than in the control group, with two studies being statistically significant and the remaining study not being statistically significant. Conclusions: Acupuncture could be a suitable treatment without adverse effects for Raynaud's disease because it improves peripheral blood flow. However, further studies, including randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind methods, and clear evaluation criteria are needed.

Stellate ganglion block has been used to treat diseases such as peripheral vascular disease, sympathetic dystrophy, and various pain syndromes involving the head or arm. Raynaud's disease is a syndrome manifested by attacks of pallor, cyanosis, numbness and pain of the digits in response to cold or emotional change. I report one case who was given Stellate ganglion block using 18G teflon Catheter(4.5 cm in length) for Raynaud's disease. Continuous stellate ganglion block is more convinient to inpatient than repeated needle punctures and may reduce major complications and more useful to patient who needs continuous sympathetic block about one week duration.

The objective of this study was to investigate the diagnosis and treatment of Raynaud disease such as syndrome differentiation and herbal medicine by reviewing Chinese traditional medicine's journals. The journal search was carried out using China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) and PubMed from January 2008 to August 2013. Searching key words were the various combination of "Raynaud disease", "traditional chinese medicine", "syndrome differentiation", "herbal medicine". The final selection of 38 studies were selected and summarized by researchers. The syndrome differentiation was classified as yang deficiency and cold syncope, qi stagnation and blood stasis. The most frequently prescribed herbal medication was Dangguisinitang.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to report the clinical effects of a combination of Gamiguibi-tang and sweet bee venom on a patient with Raynaud's disease. Methods: The patient with Raynaud's disease was treated with Gamiguibi-tang three times a day for 43 days and with sweet bee venom daily. The effects on Raynaud's disease were measured on both hands using a cold stress test and an infrared thermometer and by digital infrared thermographic imaging and a NRS (Numeric Rating Scale). We conducted the cold stress test at 6-8 day intervals from 2016.04.27 to 2016.06.08. Results: After treatment, the symptoms of pain were decreased in both hands and digital infrared thermographic imaging (DITI) confirmed a rise in the temperature of the fingers. The fingertip temperature increased from 29.6 to 30.4 degrees and the cooling/rewarming ratio (CRR) increased steadily. No adverse events were found at discharge. Conclusions: Gamiguibi-tang combined sweet bee venom may improve symptoms in patients with Raynaud's disease.

복합 교원성 질환은 류마티스 관절염, 경피증, 전신성 홍반성 낭창, 다발성 근염의 다양한 임상양상을 나타내면서 혈청학적 검사에서 항 ENA 항체를 갖는 질환이다. 성인에서 1972년 25례의 복합 교원성 질환의 첫 보고 이래 국내에서 성인에서 발생한 복합 교원성 질환에 대한 몇몇 보고가 있었지만, 소아에서는 복합 교원성 질환의 보고가 드물다. 7세 여아가 내원 3개월 전부터 시작된 양 손가락에, 글쓰기 및 한랭노출에 의해 유발되는, 가역적인 색깔변화와 차가움을 주소로 내원하였다. 신체 검사에서 양측 손가락들의 부종 및 오른쪽 집게손가락 끝에 궤양이 관찰되었다. 혈청학적 검사에서 다른 교원성 질환의 증거 없이 높은 역가의 ANA와 항 ENA 항체 중 항 RNP 항체가 고역가로 검출되었다. Raynaud 현상과 궤양에 대해 slow releasing nifedipin을 사용하였으나 호전 보이지 않아 스테로이드를 투약 하였고, 이후 궤양은 치유 되었으며, Raynaud 현상의 빈도도 현저히 감소하였다. 그러나 steroid를 점차 감량하는 동안 탈모 및 관절염 증상이 새로 발현되었으며, 현재 겨울에 악화되는 Raynaud 증상과 관절염으로 추적 관찰 중이다. 이에 본 저자들은 Raynaud 현상으로 발현되고 추적 동안에 탈모와 관절염이 나타난 복합 교원성 질환의 드문 소아 증례를 보고하는 바이다.

Objectives : A Report on the Improvement of korean medical treatment of Secondary Raynaud's Syndrome Caused by Systemic Sclerosis. Methods : We treated a Secondary Raynaud's syndrome 59-year-old woman with herbal medicine and acupuncture treatment for 3 months. The evaluation of treatment was confirmed by photographs before and after treatment, VAS, and palm skin temperature. Results : After treatment, the color of both fingernails and finger skins recovered from white to purplish red, and Raynaud phenomenon and palm flaring were decreased. VAS decreased from 8 to 2 and palm skin temperature increased by left hand 1.4 degrees right hand 1.2 degrees. Conclusions : It was shown that korean medical treatment was effective in the conservative treatment of Secondary Raynaud's syndrome caused by systemic sclerosis.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of vibration induced by the powered hand tools used in the automobile assembly lines, and estimate the prevalence of vibration syndrome. The acceleration levels of four major powered hand tools were measured using the ISO 5349 method along with the time of exposure to the vibration of the hand tools. Four-hour-energy-equivalent frequency-weighted accelerations ranged from $1.27m/s^2$ to $2.58m/s^2$, After exposure to vibration for 12.6 years, about 10% of the workers using impact ranches were expected to develop Raynaud's disease. For the workers using grinders, 16.6% of the workers were expected to develop Raynaud's disease. The results would be of help in developing the guidelines of local vibration control.

This is a case report of Raynaud's disease improved by Korean medicine treatment. A patient suffering with redness of the hands for more than five years took Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang or Geopungcheonggi-san for 3 months. The change in symptoms was assessed with photographs and evaluating the subjective symptoms of patient. After the 25th treatment, the redness of the hands and the subjective symptoms showed improvement. These findings suggested that Korean medicine treatment could be an effective option for redness of the hands due to Raynaud's disease.
