The Effect of the Length of Relationship and Commitment in the Context of Mobile Telecommunication Industry (관계기간과 몰입의 역할에 관한 연구 : 이동통신산업을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate two components of commitment(affective commitment and calculative commitment) and relational equity on loyalty. In addition, The authors analyzed the moderating effect of length of relationship on the effects of commitments and relational equity on switching intention. Major findings can be summarized as follows. It was found that affective commitment made a negative impact on switching intentions and a positive impact on w-o-m. Calculative commitment had no effect on switching intention and w-o-m while it made a negative effect on w-o-m in handset side only. Relational equity appears to bolster a negative effect on switching intention and a positive effect on w-o-m. Also length of relationship seems to moderate the effect of relational equity on switching intention.

Effects of Relational Bonds and Professional Authority in the Organizational Commitment of Intensive Care Unit Nurses (중환자실 간호사의 관계유대와 전문직 자율성이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to define the effects of relational bonds and professional authority in organizational commitment of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurses. Methods: A questionnaire was distributed to 200 ICU nurses working in 3 tertiary hospitals. The survey content included the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ), Relational Bond Questionnaire (RBQ) and Schutzenhofer Professional Nurse Autonomy Scale (SPNA). Results: The score for OCQ was 2.59, for RBQ, 3.23, and for SPNA, 2.93. Organizational commitment was related to relational bonds (${\beta}=0.45$; p<.001; SE=0.08). These factors accounted for 21.6% of the variability in organizational commitment. Conclusion: Results indicate that ICU nurses' organizational commitment could be improved through increasing relational bonds and retaining experienced nurses which suggests a need to develop work systems designed to increase and maintain high relational bonds in ICU nurses.

The Structural Effects of Relational Benefits on Brand Loyalty in Financial Institute (금융기관에서 관계편익이 브랜드충성도에 미치는 구조적 영향)

  • Purpose: This study evaluated the effect of customer relationship management (CRM) on customer's brand loyalty in the holistic perspective of relational benefits, relationship quality and relation value. This paper attempted to find out the psychological process that links the relational benefits and brand loyalty. Methods: The data was collected by using the structured questionnaires to VIP customers and general customers of major domestic banks. The proposed research model is empirically tested using 324 valid questionnaires using SPSS 23 and AMOS 23. Results: This research indicated the partially positive relationship between the relational benefits and relation values, and between relational benefits and relationship quality. The relation value and relationship quality positively affects the relation commitment and the relation commitment also positively affects brand loyalty. This study also shows that the relation value affects the brand loyalty through the mediation of relation commitment, but also the relationship quality affects the brand loyalty through the media of relation commitment. Conclusions: This study investigates the role of perceptional factors(relational value and relationship quality) and affective factors(relation commitment) to find the relationship between relational benefits and brand loyalty. It also suggest the relative influence of relational benefits on relation value.

The Effects of Relational Benefits and Commitment on Word-of-mouth Intention and Repurchase Intention for Cosmetic Purchaser in Internet Shopping Mall (인터넷 쇼핑몰에서의 관계효익과 관계몰입이 화장품 소비자의 구전의도 및 재구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • As increasing the rates of purchasing cosmetic in internet shopping mall, the relationship marketing between purchaser and shopping mall service providers has become more important. At this point, the purpose of this study was to investigate factors of relational benefits and commitment, and to analyze the effects of relational benefits and commitment on word-of-mouth intention and repurchase intention for cosmetic purchaser in internet shopping mall. With convenience sampling, the research was surveyed to 20’s to 30’s female and male who had purchased cosmetics in internet shopping mall. The 308 responses were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability test, and multi-regression analysis. The results were as follows. First, the factors of relational benefits were divided into psychological benefits, social benefits, and economic benefits. Also the factors of commitment were divided into calculative commitment and affective commitment. Second, only psychological benefits affected to calculative commitment, and all three factors of relational benefits affected to affective commitment. Third, the word-of-mouth intention for cosmetic purchaser in internet shopping mall was affected by psychological benefits, social benefits, economic benefits, calculative commitment and affective commitment. Lastly, the repurchase intention of cosmetic in internet shopping mall was affected by psychological benefits, social benefits, economic benefits, calculative commitment, affective commitment and the word-of-mouth intention.

An Empirical Study on the Importance of IT Governance Commitment in IT Service Management for Outsourcing Performance (아웃소싱 성과를 위한 IT 서비스 관리에서 IT 거버넌스 커미트먼트의 중요성에 대한 연구)

  • IT outsourcing studies have centered on the separate effect of formal contract and relational trust on IT outsourcing performance. In addition, previous studies ignored the importance of the relational capability that combine the formal contract and partnership can be able to deliver IT outsourcing effects. In this paper, we propose an IT governance commitment as a mediated role between relational capability and IT outsourcing performance. We collected data from 143 client companies of IT outsourcing and analyzed it using the PLS method. Our findings are revealed as following: At first, relational capability significantly and directly influence IT governance commitment as well as indirectly through formal contract and partnership. Secondly, IT governance commitment mediate between relational capability and IT outsourcing effect, and in turn affect IT outsourcing performance. The results and implications are further discussed.

  • This paper examines empirically the effect of mileage program in e-Business on brand loyalty, and the mediating role of customers' trust and relational commitment. The results show that customer's benefits and convenience of the program significantly influences positively customer's trust. In addition, customer's trust also influences positively relational commitment, and relational commitment significantly influences positively brand loyalty. Thus, trust and relational commitment should be considered in the mileage program to improve the brand loyalty of internet shopping mall. Implications and limitations of this study are suggested.

The Influence of Firm Trust and Salesperson Trust on Commitment and Relational Citizenship Behavior (기업간 거래에서 관계적 시민행동에 관한 연구)

  • The primary purpose of this research is to develop and test a model that explains the process of how trust in a supplier firm and salesperson through relational commitment influence buyer's positive and desirable behavior. In order to do so, we are empirically to examine how a supplier firm and salesperson trust can reinforce buyer's relational commitment leading to relational citizenship behavior using over 138 buying firms, Through structural equation modeling, we find that trust in a supplier firm and salesperson influence the relational commitment and relational commitment enhance relational citizenship behavior. However, trust in a supplier firm is unrelated to the buying firm's relational citizenship behavior whereas trust in salesperson has direct effect on relational citizenship behavior. Finally, we discuss several theoretical and practical implications, and suggest limitations for the research and future research issue.

Does the supervisor-subordinate relationship affect the effectiveness of transformational leadership on organizational commitment?

  • Purpose - By suggesting relational distance between supervisor and subordinate, this study examines the boundary condition of the impact of transformational leadership and organizational commitment in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - We collected survey data from employees in various industries in Korea. A total of 241 employees participated in this study. We conducted the hierarchical linear regression and confirmed moderating effects of relational distances (democratic, structural and affective distance) on the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment. Result - The results from 241 Korean employees show that transformational leadership is positively related to organizational commitment. Further, this relationship was moderated by structural distance and affective distance between supervisor and subordinate. Conclusion - This study shed new light on how exercising transformational leadership can help raise employees' organizational commitment. Organizations should be concerned about the various relational distance between supervisor and subordinate.

A study on Factors Affecting the Relational Commitment of Application Developers to the Market (스마트폰 애플리케이션 개발자의 마켓결속 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Since smart phones are changing the media for communication and its related mobile market, it is imperative to attract more application developers for success in application store business in order to attract more app users. By using aspects of the commitment marketing theory and the relationship marketing theory, this research study identified factors that influence on the relational commitment of application developers to the market. Survey of application developers from Korean mobile application developers' community was conducted to test the hypothesized model. The empirical results showed from an economic behavioral perspective market demand for applications and perceived usefulness of development tool led to relational commitment of developers mediated by perceived satisfaction while attractiveness of alternatives had no significant effect. In addition, fairness of review process and interactivity, based on the relationship marketing theory perspective, showed significant effect on the relational commitment of developers mediated by trust for application market.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of trust and relational commitment on capital area and non capital area coffee shop. In order to meet its purpose, we surveyed 264 customers who visited coffee shop in capital area and non capital area. The results are as follows: First, trust was played a mediator role between a brand image and relational commitment. Second, Relational commitment was played a mediating role between trust and brand loyalty. Third, Trust and relational commitment was played a mediator role between brand image and brand loyalty.
