Telemedicine Cooperation Experience of Nurses Working in Remote Areas (의료취약지 근무 간호인력의 원격협진 수행 경험)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore the telemedicine cooperation experience of nurses working in remote areas. Methods: A focus group interviews were used to collect data. All interviews were recorded and transcribed. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. Results: The three main categories and seven sub-categories of telemedicine cooperation experience that emerged are 1) requirement of education on remote support service, 2) consideration of the recipients of medical support services and the characteristics of the area, and 3) difficulties in conducting telemedicine cooperation. Conclusion: As a result of the study, legal protection should be given priority, and it is necessary to select an area where remote cooperation is essential, to discover subjects, and to reduce the burden of work and division of manpower and duties.

  • This study implemented a remote control system using PDA based on WINDOWS CE. NET. In existing remote control systems, the user generally controls remote objects and obtain data using a computer, which is a local system connected to the internet, and the remote objects are connected to server computers. In order to control remote objects, the user has to have a computer, a space to use the Internet, and wired internet. The system proposed in this study uses an embedded board as a server and PDA as a client. Thus, the user can control remote objects at any place as long as wireless internet is available. In addition, because an embedded board is used as a server, the system has the characteristics of high performance and low power consumption. The proposed system provides not only remote control environment using PDA but also conventional control environment using a computer as a client. In case PDA is not available, remote objects still can be controlled from any place as long as there are wired internet and a computer.

Trend of global land cover mapping and global land cover ground truth database

  • There are many global/continental or large area land cover mapping projects because land cover is one of key parameters in environmental studies. Though ground truth collection is a important and difficult task in land cover mapping, it is usually performed independently in each project without any cooperation between them. This is the background of the development of Global Land Cover Ground Truth (GLCGT) database by the cooperation of many projects and researchers. The developed GLCGT database will be used freely by any researcher. This cooperative and common development of GLCGT database will realize reliable and continuously improved land cover ground truth data. It also eliminates duplicated efforts of ground truth collection among projects.

  • In this paper, we develope the bucket driven dredger for sludge treatment in box type culvert. The dreadger is opererated in $2m\;{\times}\;2m$ box type narrow culvert under the road, and controlled using remote controller on the remote zone. In order to operate under dangerous environment, we develope the bucket drived dredger, and we will commercialize the result.

  • This paper presents the operation technology and the remote monitoring system of distribution pole transformer. Especially, this system uses CDMA wireless data communication network as media which is serviced on a national scale. It has four major components such as sensor for measuring the secondary voltage and currents of distribution transformer, CDMA wireless modem for data modulating/demodulating, communication media for sending/receiving of data, and PC server for monitoring the results of sensing or computing information. This paper also describes the configuration of each component's functions with its development process.

  • This presentation delivers the Appreciation of the The Pan Ocean Remote Sensing Conference Association for the cooperation with the Korean Society of Remote Sensing in organizing a joint conference with the International Symposium of Remote Sensing. It includes a brief history of the PORSEC Association with its mission and aims and the system of governance of the organization. Our vision for the future, is presented from this president's point of view. It includes a discussion of building expert capacity to use remote sensing techniques in developing nations by the sharing of knowledge and our ability to promote predictability of natural hazards with our workshops and science sessions.   • In this paper, we developed remote control devices that can be controlled passive component e.g. resistor, inductor, capacitor that is a basic element in the electric circuit. We embodied a remote laboratory for basic circuit theory which learners can experiment controlling element value to remote through the internet. It was seen that is useful applying passive component developing to a remote laboratory. Because developed passive components can response in an experiment altering several element values to remote, they will be used very usefully in a remote experiment that equip various experiment theme. Therefor the proposed laboratory will be solved problems of virtual laboratory which students do not handle instruments in engineering experiment. With our proposed system, students can experiment any time, anywhere.

  • A u-healthcare remote diagnosis system is proposed for chronic disease and medical vulnerable groups check the health systematically and support for the most optimal environment to improve the quality of life. The u-healthcare remote diagnosis system using wireless measure the thoracic sound in the chest. And this is demonstrated that the system using radio frequency is not be affected by the electromagnetic wave with the use of an experiment and by confirming that this u-healthcare remote diagnosis system can not affect the doctors and the patients.

  • Recently, lots of research activities have been carried out to provide advanced smart control functions applying a computer networking technology to telemeter/telecontrol systems. In this paper, we suggest client/server architecture with specially designed remote and local control software for applicant those to greenhouse model. The server system collects and integrates various datas related sensor or actuator, and stores in database maintaining high quality of remote I/O control operation. Where as the client system simply operation such as control panel on the internet web browser. Implemented system well communicate interactively both monitoring and control status of greenhouse including multimedia informations. In this study we also analyze the extent of the performance enhancement in terms of overall throughput and data transfer time effected by packet size.
