슬링거 연소기의 회전형 분사장치의 분무특성 연구 (Spray Characteristics of the Rotary Atomizer for the Slinger Combustor)

  • An experimental study was performed to understand spray characteristics of the rotary atomizer for the slinger combustor. In this fuel injection system, fuel is injected and atomized in the combustor by centrifugal forces to engine shaft. The experimental apparatus consists of a high speed rotational spindle, rotary atomizer, pressure tank and acrylic case. The droplet size and velocity were measured by PDPA (phase Doppler particle analyzer), and spray was visualized by using high speed camera and Nd:Yag laser-based flash photography. From the test results, the droplet size (SMD) is largely affected by rotational speed, mass flow rate and the number of orifice. As the experimental results, we could understand the spray characteristics of the rotary atomizer for the slinger combustor and obtain the optimum shape of the rotary atomizer which is suitable for the small gas turbine engine.

회전컵 무화기의 미립화 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Atomization Characteristics of the Rotary Cup Atomizer)

  • Rotary atomizer is widely used in practical application ranging from combustion, cooling, spray drying, agriculture, chemical system. Rotary cup atomizer has some advantages such as extreme versatility and liquid atomization successfully varying widely in viscosity. In rotary atomization, the feed liquid is centrifugally accelerated to high velocity and the liquid extends over the rotating surface as a thin film before being discharged into an atmosphere. The degree of rotary atomization depends upon peripheral speed, feed rate, liquid properties and atomizer design. An important asset is that thickness and uniformity of the liquid sheet can readily be controlled by regulating the liquid flow rate and the rotational speed. LDPA(Laser Diffraction Particle Analyser) and image aquisition system are used to measure drop size distribution and spray pattern. The atomization characteristics of the rotary cup atomizer is investigated experimentally by varing the liquid feed rate, rotary cup speed and air velocity for atomization. As a results, the effect of air velocity on the atomization characteristics such as drop size and spray uniformity is considerably greater than variation of those with liquid feed rate.

  • 가스터빈엔진에 적용할 수 있는 드럼형 회전연료노즐의 모델링을 통해 원심력이 충분한 연료분사압력을 발생시킴을 보였고, 회전연료분사의 미립화 현상에 대해 실험적으로 연구하였다. 회전연료분사의 미립화기구 및 분무특성을 이해하기 위하여 고속 회전연료노존 시험리그를 이용하여 $5,000\;{\sim}\;40,000rpm$의 영역에서 분무가시화와 PDA를 이용한 분무액적 측정을 실시하여 회전연료분무의 미립화 특징을 규명하고, 미립화성능 향상을 위해서는 회전속도증가를 통해 액적분열시점을 앞당기는 것이 중요함을 알았다.

  • 회전형 도장기기의 핵심 부품인 공기 터빈 및 무화 디스크 설계를 위한 기본 설계개념 및 방법을 제시하였고, 이를 이용하여 도장기기를 설계, 제작하였다. 제작된 도장기기의 회전수 및 유량의 측정 결과는 전산유체역 학적 해와 잘 일치하였다. 또한 공기 터빈 및 디스크 설계 사양에 따라 도장기기의 회전수가 현저히 변화됨을 알 수 있었고, 공기 터빈의 유로 기울기 $20^{\circ}$, 노즐 수 2개일 때의 도장기기 성능이 가장 우수하였다.

고속 회전 벨 컵의 진동 특성 (Vibration Characteristics of High Speed Rotary Bell Cup)

  • In this work, vibration characteristics of high speed rotary bell cup for paint atomizer are numerically investigated. New type of bell cup model is proposed and additional corresponding models with design parameter variations for length and diameter are constructed. Dynamic characteristics, such as natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes, are studied for each model as a first step. To investigate operation stability, critical speed of rotary bell cup is numerically analyzed based on Campbell diagram and separation margin between operating speed and critical speed is identified. Unbalance vibration responses are also investigated with respect to design parameter variation, operating speed and balancing quality grade of G. Then the proper design guideline for stable operation of high speed rotary bell cup for paint atomizer is suggested.

  • Liquid atomization by means of a spinning cup is widely used as a device for combustion, in cooling and spray drying. In this study, the blowing type rotary atomizer was experimental carried out the investigations on the characteristics of the blowing type rotary atomizer which is an air flow energy of blower instead of an electric motor most commonly used to a driven energy. The analysis on the rotary cup speed, air velocity with the blower conditions was performed and also the drop size was measured using LDPA. It was tried to analyzed on air-nozzle size and liquid flowrate as the result. It was found that the increase of the relative velocity between liquid and air improve significantly atomization liquid, and decrease of the liquid flowrate improved the maximum drop size though the mean drop size is really the same.

  • 벨 디스크(Bell disc, 오토마이저 Atomizer)를 사용한 회전식 도장기술은 뛰어난 도료 전달효율, 도장 패턴 및 입자크기의 균일성, 스프레이 건 방식에 비해 적은 압축공기 사용량 등의 장점이 있다. 또한 회전식 분무기는 모든 페인트 재료에 적용할 수 있고 자동차 연속도장 같은 대규모 도장이 필요한 환경에 적합하다. 도장기기의 성능과 밀접하게 관계된 도장품질은 벨 디스크 표면설계에 따른 액적 크기와 균일성에 의해 결정된다. 따라서 이번 연구는 도료의 점성, 밀도, 표면친화도 등의 염료 특성이 고려된 작동하는 벨 디스크의 회전수, 직경, 표면의 각도, 무화시의 박막두께에 대한 모델링을 시행하여 표면설계 방법의 기초를 수립하였다.

  • In the present work, vibration analysis of high speed rotary bell cup model for paint atomizer application is carried out through numerical simulation. At first, eight bell cup models, considering four different cup shapes and two different cup diameters, are proposed and corresponding dynamic characteristics are investigated. To evaluate the operating stability, critical speed analysis is conducted using Campbell diagram and separation margin between operating speed and critical speed is identified. Unbalance vibration responses are also studied according to operating speed and balancing quality grade of G. Finally, the stability and adequacy of the proposed bell cup models are discussed for field application.

  • 회전 무화형 도장기기의 고효율화를 위한 기초 연구로서 도장기기 회전 디스크의 형태에 따른 도장기기의 성능을 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 본 연구에서는 도료의 무화가 선상 무화가 유지되도록 도장기기 디스크의 빗살무늬 형상을 설계하였다. 최적설계에 따라 제작된 도장 기기의 도장 성능시험을 통해 도착효율 및 도막특성을 실험적으로 관찰하였고, 기존의 도장기기 성능 시험결과와 비교 분석하였으며, 회전디스크의 빗살무늬 형태가 도착효율 및 도막 특성에 미치는 영향을 규명하였다.

  • Deep sea water has cold temperature, abundant nutrients and minerals, and good water quality that is pathogen-free and stable. Compared with surface water, deep sea water contains more nutrition salt, such as nitrogen and phosphor. Moreover, if has the good balance of minerals. Because of the ability of the spray drying process to produce a free-flowing power considering of spherical particles with a well-defined size distribution and the rapid drying times for heat-sensitive material, spray drying is attractive for a wide range of applications spray drying is a unique unit operation in which powders are produced from a liquid feed in a single processing step. Key component of the process are atomizer, spray chamber. Design of spray chamber should be based on the atomizer type, the production rate, and the particle size required. Because of the complex processes taking place during spray drying, traditional design method are based on pilot-plant tests and empirical scale-up rules. Modern technique such as CFD have a role to play in design and troubleshooting.
