For convex subsets X of a topological vector space E, we show that a KKM principle implies a Fan-Browder type fixed point theorem and that this theorem implies generalized forms of the Sion minimax theorem.

Ky Fan's minimax inequality is an important tool in nonlinear functional analysis and its applications, e.g. game theory and economic theory. Since Fan gave his minimax inequality in [2], various extensions of this interesting result have been obtained (see [4,11] and the references therein). Using Fan's minimax inequality, Ha [6] obtained a non-compact version of Sion's minimax theorem in topological vector spaces, and next Geraghty-Lin [3], Granas-Liu [4], Shih-Tan [11], Simons [12], Lin-Quan [10], Park-Bae-Kang [17], Bae-Kim-Tan [1] further generalize Fan's minimax theorem in more general settings. In [9], using the concept of submaximum, Komiya proved a topological minimax theorem which also generalized Sion's minimax theorem and another minimax theorem of Ha in [5] without using linear structures. And next Lin-Quan [10] further generalizes his result to two function versions and non-compact topological settings.

A Japanese director Sion Sono(園子溫, born in 1961), who is not so familiar to us yet, has been depicting the world of violence and sexuality filled with poetic and philosophical messages through the shockingly impressive works such as Strange Circus(2005), Love Exposure(2008), Cold Fish(2010), Guilty of Romance(2011), and so forth after the great success of Suicide Circle(2001) and its second film Noriko's Dinner Table(2005). In addition to these, he has also presented a kind of realistic visions in much more direct ways by Himizu(2011) or Land of Hope(2013) after 3 11 disaster. The purpose of this paper is to try a psychoanalytic interpretation of Sion Sono's film, centering on his Guilty of Romance(愛のむきだし), in terms of the concepts of Jacques Lacan(1901-1981), for example, gaze, objet petit a, fantasy, desire, the imaginary-the symbolic-the real, jouissance, etc. In so doing, this paper will pay special attention to the discourse of love on one hand, exploring the way how to show any new perspective to the religious studies by reading film and religion in association with Lacan on the other hand.

Generalized forms of the von neumann-Sion type minimax theorem, the Fan-Ma intersection theorem, the Fan-a type analytic alternative, and the Nash-Ma equilibrium theorem hold for generalized convex spaces without having any linear structure.

For the preparation of polybutadiene latexes with suitable particle size, membrane e$$\mu$sification, which is capable of easy and uniform control of particle size, was used in this study. The parameters were the type and amount of surfactants, amount of additive and pressure. Particle size and distribution of prepared latexes were measured and compared with those of e$$\mu$sion prepared by homogenizer. To investigate the membrane e$$\mu$sification mechanism, theoretical drop size was calculated by Harkins-Brown equation. When the amount of surfactant with more than 0.2 wt%(based on DDI water) was added in the continuous phase, the stable e$$\mu$sion was prepared. Other parameters showed little relationship with particle size and distribution. In this membrane e$$\mu$sification, the essential factor for determining the particle size was the pore size of the membrane.

Neural networks are explored as an alternative to a regres-sion model for prediction of the number of daily household vehicular trips. This study focuses on contrasting a neural network model with a regression model in term of variable selection as well as the appli-cation of these models for prediction of extreme observations, The differences in the models regarding data transformation variable selec-tion and multicollinearity are considered. The results indicate that the neural network model is a viable alternative to the regression model for addressing both messy data problems and limitation in variable structure specification.

To remove nitrogen oxides(NOx) in exhaust gas of diesel engine three-way catalytic process with plasma discharger has great possibilities. Characteristics of NOx removal depends on NO conver-sion to $NO_2$ and /or $HNO_3$ due to high activation energies for NO oxidation and reduction, NOx removal efficiency by using three-way catalytic with plasma discharger indicated about 50% at 40watt power consumption condition.

본 논문에서는 차영상 기법을 이용하여 이동하는 객체를 탐지하고 계수하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 카메라를 통해 들어온 입력 영상과 배경의 차이를 통해 객체를 탐지하고 객체의 움직임을 분석하여 이동 객체를 계수한다. 실험 결과를 통해 물체의 이동 객체의 탐지 및 계수가 이루어짐을 확인 할 수 있다.

In this investigation, we observed surface morphology and porosity of a macroporous adsorbent made of Na-bentonite and Ca-bentonite as structure formation materials and grounded waste paper as macropore forming material for the development of a permeable reactive barrier to remove heavy metals in groundwater. Therefore, we selected minerals having higher cation exchange capacity among 2:1 clay minerals and other industrial minerals because sintering can significantly influence cation exchange capacity, resulting in drastic decrease in removal of heavy metals. The results showed that the increasing sintering temperature drastically decreased CEC by less than 10 % of the indigenous CEC carried by the selected minerals. One axial compressibility test results showed that the highest value was obtained from 5% newspaper waste pulp for both structure formation materials of Na-bentonite and Ca-bentonite although there were not much difference in bulk density among treatments. The pore formation influenced by sintering temperature and period contributes removal of heavy metals passing through the sintered macroporous media having different water retention capacity.
