  • This paper describes a drive circuit and control method for SRM motor with maximum torque region. The proposed switching method is tested by experiment on single salient type SRM motor. As a result, The SRM drive with the proposed scheme is effective in increasing of torque region.

  • This paper presents a circuit analysis and cotnrol example of favored configuration 6/4 SRM. SRM modeling and analysis are necessary for experiment. Thus this paper proposes a SRM modeling with PI controller (of driving converter) input voltage chopping and inductance profile when rotor position transformed. Through this simulation the designer can predict operating states of systems over a broad range of operating conditions.

  • SRM은 많은 장점으로 인해 각종 산업분야에 적용을 검토하고 있다. 그러나 토오크리플과 소음이 교류전동기보다 상대적으로 높은 단점이 있다. SRM은 상전류파형이 동작특성과 토오크리플발생에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 논문에서는 토오크리플을 줄이고 정밀한 속도제어를 위해 순시도통각제어와 PLK제어시스템을 이용하였다. PLL의 위상검출기는 도통각제어에, 루우프필터의 출력은 순시 인가전압의 제어에 각각 도입하여 속응성을 높이고 토오크리플을 줄일 수 있도록 하였다. 실험을 통하여 정밀한 속도제어와 토오크리플 저감특성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • The switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive system provides a good adjustable speed characteristics. However higher torque ripple are one of the few disadvantages of the SRM drives. The SRM would have to operated with an MMF waveform specified for switching angle and phase voltage. This paper proposes control modelling method using ANN(Artificial Neural Network) and GA(Genetic Algorithm) that are used to control switch-on angles and input voltage.

  • This paper presents the design results and characteristic analysis of SRM. For vehicle power supply for adaptable design of the SRM, variable design parameters, such as stator and rotor laminations, winding details, pole numbers, and pole arcs, phases numbers are required. So, in this paper the SRM design results and the comparison of characteristics for vehicle power supply as phases changed are described.

  • This paper proposes a new driving scheme for single-phase SRM. The driving scheme is very simple and inexpensive. By use of this scheme, simple power devices based on low switching losses enable to high efficiency SRM drive. Starting, One of the main problem in single-phase SRM is overcame by a new starting algorithm with one hall sensor and a parting magnet. The proposed single phase SRM has a high efficiency and robust drive characteristics compared to that of a universal motor.

  • Energy recovery in the regenerative region is very important when SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor) is used in traction drive. This is because that to reduce energy loss during mechanical braking and/or to have a high efficiency drive during braking. To control excitation voltage in motor operation and regenerative voltage in the generator operation in the SRM, multi-level voltage control is effective. This paper suggests multi-level inverter which is useful for motoring and regenerative operation in SRM.

  • This paper presents the performance and efficiency of a drive system incorporating a switched-reluctance motor (SRM) with input power factor correction (PFC). The proposed system consists of a PFC, bi-directional converter, an inverter, and a SRM operating as based voltage source drives (VSD). First, theoretical analysis is made for each identified mode of operation in the drive system. This is followed by comparing the performance of the SRM drive system with and without a PFC circuit. The losses are also calculated for both systems and overall efficiency. Experimental results are presented to prove the theoretical analysis.
