A Study on the Neural Network for the Character Recognition (문자인식을 위한 신경망컴퓨터에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposed a neural computer architecture for the learning of script character pattern recognition categories. Oriented filter with complex cells preprocess about the input script character, abstracts contour from the character. This contour normalized and inputed to the ART. Top-down attentional and matching mechanisms are critical in self-stabilizing of the code learning process. The architecture embodies a parallel search scheme that updates itself adaptively as the learning process unfolds. After learning ART self-stabilizes, recognition time does not grow as a function of code complexity. Vigilance level shows the similarity between learned patterns and new input patterns. This character recognition system is designed to adaptable. The simulation of this system showed satisfied result in the recognition of the hand written characters.

Learning Element Recognition and Academic Achievement of Nursing Student Receiving PBL with Simulation Education (시뮬레이션 실습이 접목된 문제중심학습에 대한 간호학생의 PBL 학습요소별 인식과 학업성취도)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze how a nursing student recognizes PBL with simulation education and its relationship to academic achievement. Methods: The study objects were the students in C college who learn through PBL using simulator for 15 weeks(September 2007 to December 2007). Learning element recognition was developed by Cho(2002) and three key evaluations(performance, self-evaluation, and colleague evaluation) were designed by professors. Results: Learning element recognition ranged from 2.37 to 4.83 with the average at 3.94. For Learning element recognition, students who preferred discussion score 4.15. This was statistically more significant than those who do not. Students who preferred presentations show significantly higher score in colleague evaluation. For Learning element recognition and academic achievement, self-evaluation and colleague evaluation showed relationship to PBL learning element. Conclusion: There was definitely a relationship with PBL learning element and academic achievement after learning the PBL with simulation education.

Development and Characterization of Pattern Recognition Algorithm for Defects in Semiconductor Packages

  • In this paper, the classification of artificial defects in semiconductor packages is studied by using pattern recognition technology. For this purpose, the pattern recognition algorithm includes the user made MATLAB code. And preprocess is made of the image process and self-organizing map, which is the input of the back-propagation neural network and the dimensionality reduction method, The image process steps are data acquisition, equalization, binary and edge detection. Image process and self-organizing map are compared to the preprocess method. Also the pattern recognition technology is applied to classify two kinds of defects in semiconductor packages: cracks and delaminations.

A Study on the Factors Influencing Male University Students' Dating Sexual Assault Recognition (남자 대학생의 데이트 성폭력 인식에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing male university students' Dating Sexual Assault Recognition. Data were collected from 200 male university students in A city from February 1 to 14, 2017. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. It was found that significant correlations with Dating Sexual Assault Recognition are Self-Esteem, Family Violence, Sexual Assertiveness, Permissive Levels of Dating Violence. Meaningful variables that influenced Dating Sexual Assault Recognition are Self-Esteem, Family Violence, Sexual Assertiveness, Permissive Levels of Dating Violence, and Sex. The total explanation power indicating Dating Sexual Assault Recognition was 54%. The results of this study based on the factors influencing male university students' Dating Sexual Assault Recognition will be fundamental material for the related study regarding good attitude in recognition of it to decrease Dating Violence.

Development and Application of Questionnaire for Self-Understanding and Change Capacity Related to Science Education: Focus on the Recognition of Pre-Service Elementary Teachers (과학교육 관련 자기이해와 변화역량 조사 도구 개발 및 적용 -초등예비교사의 인식을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the questionnaire on pre-service elementary teachers' recognition of self-understanding and change capacity for science education and to investigate their recognitions with it. At the beginning of the study, we made a tool to investigate the self-understanding and change capacity of pre-service elementary teachers through literature review and discussions. The former half of the questionnaire was related to self-understanding with factors such as 'self-concept clarity,' 'career identity' and 'self-efficacy:' 'self-understanding as a pre-service elementary teacher' (12 items) and 'self-understanding as a pre-service elementary science teacher' (12 items). Its latter half was about the change capacity with factors such as 'change sensitivity,' 'goal consciousness,' 'collaboration,' 'reflection,' and 'mastery.' It consisted of three parts: 'general change capacity,' 'change capacity as a pre-service elementary teacher' and 'change capacity as a pre-service elementary science teacher' with 17 items, respectively. With this tool, we surveyed 153 pre-service elementary teachers. The results are as follows: First, pre-service elementary teachers have a positive recognition about self-understanding and change capacity, but the recognition of self-understanding and change capacity as pre-service elementary science teachers were relatively less positive. Second, factors of self-understanding and change capacity as pre-service elementary science teachers have a significant correlation with each other. Especially, there was a high correlation between 'self-efficacy' of self-understanding and 'goal consciousness' and 'mastery' of change capacity. Based on these results, some implications for self-understanding and change capacity related to science education were discussed.

The Effect of Technology Difficulty and Safety Perception on Customer Value Perception and Intention to Use Self-Service Technologies (셀프서비스기술 환경에서 기술난이도와 안전성 지각이 고객가치인식과 지속사용의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Computer and Internet information technologies(ICTs) have changed the modern service industry and people's life style. In particular, the global spread of COVID-19 has attracted more attention to contact service types such as self-service technology. With the increase in labor costs and the enhancement of consumer self-awareness, more and more companies transfer part of their work to customers through their own service technology. This study seeks to answer the following questions. (1) Do technology difficulty and safety perception affect customer value recognition in the self-service technologies? (2) Does customer value recognition influence the intention to use such technologies continuously? This study conducted an empirical analysis with 327 samples to validate the influence of self-service characteristics(technology difficulty and safety perception) on customer value recognition and continuous utilization intentions. Also, it analyzes the moderating effects of age and frequency of use on the relationship between self-service characteristics and customer value recognition. The study results show that the technology difficulty does not affect the customer's perceived value recognition; and the higher the customer's value recognition, the higher the intention of continuous use.

Multi-touch Recognition and Tracking for Self Capacitive TSP (자기정전용량 방식의 TSP에서 멀티터치 인식 및 추적)

  • This paper introduces a multi-touch recognition and tracking method for self capacitive TSP(Touch Screen Pannel). Self capacitive TSP recognizes finger touches by sensing capacitive change of ITO transparent conducting film arranged by rows and columns on the TSP pannel. They have some advantages such as high SNR, fast sensing, and simple touch processing, but have very difficulties for multi-touch processing. This disadvantage makes that the mutual capacitive TSPs, which have no such disadvantage, have been more widely used especially for multi-touch applications. However, since the other applications for remote control pad or recently developed wearable devises have only restrictive requirements for multi-touch, the disadvantage of self capacitive TSP is not a critical problem. In this paper, we first describe multi-touch recognition problems in self capacitive TSP and then propose how to overcome those problems and a tracking method of two touches when they are moving. Experimental results of our method showed that our algorithm works well in two touches.

Validation of the Motivational Self-Concept Rating Scale for Child Care Teachers (보육교사를 대상으로 한 동기부여적 자아개념척도 타당화 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to redefine and validate the motivational self-concept for child-care teachers. Based on related researches, items were remodified to be good enough to use for studying child-care teachers' motivational self-concept. Redefined items were analysed by factor analysis and validated by use of child-care teachers' professional recognition and their ego-resiliency. Researchers have garnered data from 321 child care teachers as convenience samples who are engaged in child care centers in Seoul and Kyunggi province by using questionnaire research methods. We have eliminated questions that are .40 below communality, questions by conducting exploratory factor analysis. As a result, 6 factors and 23 items were selected; 6 factors have indicated that it explained 77.12% of total variate motivational self-concept rating scale and ${\alpha}$ of Cronbach that of total items indicated acceptable level. After examining relevancy of child-care teachers' professional recognition and ego-resiliency to verify compliant feasibility of the motivational self-concept rating scale, the relation between motivational self-concept and professional recognition was .604(p<0.001) indicating significant static correlation and the relation between motivational self-concept and ego-resiliency was 4.456(p<0.01) indicating significant static correlation. Through this result, it is verified that motivational self-concept rating scale has compliant feasibility in professional recognition and ego-resiliency.

Conspicuous Consumption of Children Consumers and Related Variables

  • This study investigates the variables associated with the conspicuous consumption patterns of children consumers. The empirical analysis was done on materialism, recognition of advertising, self-regulation ability, and impulsive consumption. The results were as follows. First of all, children consumers tend to a little higher self-directed conspicuous consumption than others-oriented conspicuous consumption. Second, as a result of analyzing conspicuous consumption according to social demographic characteristics, a high tendency of conspicuous consumption was shown in groups that think their household economic status is upper middle class. Third, the variables affecting conspicuous consumption patterns of children consumers were materialism, recognition of advertising, and impulsive consumption. Materialism, recognition of advertising, and impulsive consumption had a positive effect.

  • In this study Characteristics of 3-D underwater object recognition independent of translation using the self-made ultrasonic sensor fabricated with porous piezoelectric resonator and presented. The sensor was satisfied with requirement of ultrasonic sensor. The recognition rates for the training data and the testing data are 97.45 and 91.25[%] respectively using the self-made ultrasonic sensor and SCL(Simple Competitive Learning) neural network. According to the experimental results It is believed that the self-made ultrasonic sensor can be applied as sensor of SONAR system.
