Analysis of The Mediating Effect of Food Quality and Price Fairness in The Relation between Servicescape and User Satisfaction - A Case Study of A University Student Cafeteria Evaluation - (서비스스케이프가 이용만족 간의 관계에서 음식의 품질과 가격공정성의 매개효과 분석 -A대학 학생 식당 사례를 중심으로-)

  • This study analyzed what the Servicescape factor of the student cafeteria in university is, whether food quality and price fairness show any mediating effect in relation between Servicescape factor and user satisfaction. First, analysis shows that Servicescape factors of cafeteria for university students are 'extensity', 'cleanness', 'aesthetic' and 'agreeableness'. Second, 'cleanness and 'aesthetic' factors are found to have positive(+) influences on user satisfaction. Third, 'cleanness', 'aesthetic' factors are found to have positive(+) influences on food quality. Fourth, 'cleanness' factors of food quality shows complete mediating effect in the influential relation between Servicescape factor and user satisfaction and 'aesthetic' factors shows partial mediating effect. Fifth, significant influence was not seen in all factors of price fairness by Servicescape factors of student cafeteria in university. Sixth, price fairness was found to play no mediating role in the influential relation between Servicescape factor and user satisfaction. This study will help understand the mediating effect of food quality and price fairness in the relation between the Servicescape of student cafeteria in university and user satisfaction.

  • Purpose - This study aims to provide domestic franchise coffee shops with useful information by analyzing the impact of servicescape and the ability to provide service on the customer satisfaction and loyalty in franchise coffee shops in Seoul. Research, data, and Methodology - The data were collected for a month from 1st in February, 2016 through judgement sampling. Then, the available collected data were analyzed with SPSS 19.0 package. Results - The results from this study are as follows. First, the servicescape factors, which have impact on a franchise coffee shop's customer satisfaction, are determined to be interior, cleanliness and coziness. Next, the ability to provide service affects customer satisfaction. Third, servicescape factors have impacts on customer satisfaction. Also, the service from a coffee shop affects customer loyalty. Therefore, a customer's satisfaction through services of a coffee shop has an impact on customer loyalty. Conclusions - It is important to have not only the ability to provide service but also servicescape factors, such as interior, cleanliness and coziness in order to be distinct from other competitors. These difference might create customer satisfaction and retention which will bring profits.

Effects of Perceived Price and Servicescape on Employee Service Quality, Food and Beverage Quality, and Customer Value in Daegu Korean Restaurants (대구 한식 외식업체에서의 가격과 서비스케이프가 종사원 서비스품질, 식음료품질, 및 고객가치에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of perceived price and servicescape on employee service quality, food and beverage quality, and customer value in Daegu Korean restaurants and to suggest methods for them to become the food mecca of Korea and the world. The samples for this study were customers of nine Korean restaurants in Daegu. A total of 368 questionnaires were analyzed with factor analysis, a reliability test, and a covariance structural analysis. The results showed that perceived price was positively related to employee service quality and food and beverage quality and that servicescape was positively related to employee service quality and food and beverage quality. However perceived price, servicescape, employee service quality, and food and beverage quality were not related to customer value. The reasons were that these factors did not influence perceived customer value in Daegu Korean restaurants. The Daegu municipal office should require these restaurants to develop distinguished employee service and food and beverage quality and conduct consistent marketing to Koreans and westerners, so that these restaurants can become the food mecca of Korea and the world.

The Effect of e-scape on Internet Shopper's Cogniti.on, Emotion, and Behavior Responses

  • By investigating Internet shopping malls from a viewpoint ofenvironmental psychology, this study tries to expand the subject of servicescape into the Internet rather than to confine it to physical space. This study empirically validates the effect of e-servicescape (hereinafter e-scape) on customers' cognitive and emotional responses which subsequently can lead to customers' behaviors. An analysis of 490 questionnaires found that e-scape influences the emotional and cognitive responses, ultimately triggering customers' behaviors. We also found that the effects of e-scape on customers' behavior may be mediated by customers' internal responses. Based on the analysis result, servicescape management is important on the Internet just as it is in physical space. Concepts such as e-scape management can be one of the effective strategies to make an Internet shopping mall distinguishable from other Internet shopping malls.

  • As we continue to enjoy economic growth, there is an abundance of disposable income for consumer to spend. Consumers are spending more and more of these income in beauty service. However, relatively little is known about which factors influence consumer' behavior intentions in this area. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between the servicescape and relational benefits on customer value in beauty salon area. The Results are summarized as follows First, as the results of data analysis, among the composition factor of servicescape, spatiality, comfortableness, cleanness and convenience are shown to give positive effect on customer value. Second, among the composition factor of relational benefits, economic honest, functional benefit, private benefit, social benefit and psychological benefit are found to have a positive relationship with customer value.

  • This study was performed with 239 dwellers who live in the city, visited rural tourism village. This study investigated the relationship of servicescape perception of rural tourism village and tourist satisfaction and behavior intention. The servicescape factors of rural tourism village consist of artificial factors and social factors. Social factors affect more total satisfaction, service satisfaction and environmental satisfaction more than artificial factors, but facilities satisfaction is more affected by artificial factors than Social factors. Total satisfaction and service satisfaction and environmental satisfaction influence behavior intention but facilities satisfaction does not. Total satisfaction has the biggest influence on behavior intention. This means that for successful rural tourism village development, social factors should be considered than artificial factors.

  • The purpose of this research is to find out how festival servicescape and human service impact the participant's emotional response and behavioral intention in terms of participants as consumers. The servicescape of festival indicated 4 common factors, named cleanliness, convenience, suitability and attravtiveness. As a result of analysis, it indicated that cleanliness and convenience from among the servicescape of festival variables are positively on positive emotion, negatively on negative emotion. And it was analyzed that all the variables of human service influence significantly on emotional response. Especially, it showed that expertise of human service variables influence on positive emotion the most, influence significantly on negative emotion. The result of relationship on behavioral intention indicated that the convenience factor of festival servicescape and expertise factor of human service influence significantly. Therefore, to operate successful festival, festival organizer should plan and manage the festival based on factors which comprises festival servicescape and human service.

Influence of Relationship Quality by Servicescape of Korean Restaurants on Loyalty - Focusing on Busan city area - (한식당 서비스스케이프에 의한 관계품질이 충성도에 미치는 영향 - 부산지역 중심으로 -)

  • This research was intended to investigate the influence of relationship quality by servicescape of Korean restaurants on loyalty targeting Busan city area. For this, a research model was designed and hypotheses were drawn through literature investigation. 300 copies of the questionnaire for a survey were distributed from 6th to 24th of May, 2013, and then 288 copies were adopted for the empirical analysis. As for data processing, the data were analyzed by using SPSS win version 18.0 statistics package program and were verified through frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The result of this empirical study was summarized as follows. First, as a result of verifying the influence of servicescape factors on relationship quality, cleanliness, comfortableness, and accessibility among the servicescape factors had significant effects on commitment among the quality factors. Second, the result from verifying how the servicescape factors affected trust showed that attractiveness, comfortableness, and accessibility had significant effects on trust. Third, commitment and trust among the relationship quality factors were found to have significant effects on loyalty.

The Effect of Servicescape and Human Service Quality on Patients' Internal Responses and Their Behavioral Intention in Dental Care Organizations (치과 의료기관의 서비스스케이프와 인적서비스품질이 환자의 내적반응 및 행동의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was designed to analyze the effect of servicescape and human service quality on patients' internal response and their behavioral intention in dental care organizations. Self-administered survey questionnaires with structured instruments were developed, and a total of 226 responses were used for statistical analyses using SPSS Windows version 18.0 program and AMOS 18.0 program. Major findings of the study are as follows. First, among other servicescape components, air condition environment was found to have a positive effect on patients' cognitive and physiological responses, while signals and symbols had a positive effect on cognitive and emotional responses. Second, the competence, among other factors of the human service quality, had positive influence on cognitive and emotional responses, while customer understanding affected positively on emotional response. Third, none of the servicescape components showed a direct effect on patients' behavioral intention, but their influence was mediated by internal responses. However, customer understanding, among other human service quality factors, had a direct effect on patients' behavioral intention. Fourth, emotional response, among other internal response factors, proved to have positive influence on behavioral intention. Results from this study suggest that dental care service providers can increase their competitiveness and customer satisfaction by understanding and improving the most important areas of servicescape and human service quality.
