Synonym means that the conceptual meaning of the word is the same or similar while other meanings or function of language difference may exist. That is two or more identified names correspond with one sense and have the words with minor difference. Words with synonym relation are a set of same meaning but conceptual area or emotional color, language function can be identified. Therefore, the core research of synonym is the difference analysis and in general difference analysis is progress in the three aspects of Meaning, Pragmatic, and Semantic. However, the difference analysis is the most important. In this paper, the set of meaning item of synonym word 'Attack' is 'zheng', 'fa', 'tao', 'qin', 'xi'. We compare the meaning of five verbs and analyze the difference and characteristics.

Studies based on food analysis or food databases use the national standard food database. Although Internet information services are increasing gradually, users are only able to get definitive and profitable information using standard food terms. Until now, it has been uncommon to find food retrieval services that include users' regional or historical characteristics. Thus, this study introduces a prototype for Food and Dish Synonym Retrieval (NutriSyn) that includes synonyms and related words. The environments which NutriSyn was implemented were Linux for the server operating system, the Microsoft Windows series for the users' operating system and Apache for a web server. The development languages used are PHP, JavaScript and HTLM with a MySQL database. Users can access NutriSyn using Internet browsers. The main menu items are (1) Food Synonym DB, (2) Dish Synonym DB, (3) Food Information DB, (4) Dish Information DB, and (5) Food and Menu Synonym Retrieval. This system is expected to be a useful tool for food experts and interdisciplinary research.

Five species of Helcystogramma are reviewed ; four are new combinations with Heleystogramma, and H. hassenzanensis is new to science. A key to species and illustrations of the adults , labial palpus, and male and female genitalia are provided. Anathyrsotis Meyrick is proposed to be a junior synonym of Helcystogramma, and Anathysotis ceriochranta Meyrick is synonymized with H. trijunctum (Meyrick). Helcystogramma macroscopum (Meyrick) is placed as a junior synonym of h. triannulella (Herrich-Schffer).

Herein, 57 species of the carabid beetles are reported from the National Sea Park, Island Naro-do. Of these, Amara sinuaticollis and Synuchus arcuaticollis are listed for the time in the Korean Fauna. Pterostichus quelpartensis Habu, 1985 becomes a new junior synonym of Pterostichus solskyi Chaudoir, 1878.

Collaborative tagging describes the process by which many users add metadata in the form of keywords to shared content. Recently, collaborative tagging has grown in popularity on the web, on sites that allow users to tag bookmarks, photographs, videos and other content. In this paper, we analyze the structure and basic knowledge of collaborative tagging systems as well as their dynamical aspects. We also present a retrieval system, TagPlus, using synonym tag that is derived from WordNet database. Specifically, TagPlus, a synonym tag based system has users retrieve images from Flickr system. The proposed system show the images tagged by not only the tag that users input but also the synonyms that are synonyms with the tag.

Korean bitterling Acanthorhodeus gracilis Regan, 1908 is very similar to Acheilognathus chankaensis (Dybowski, 1872) having 12~14 dorsal fin rays, 10~11 anal fin rays and 35~36 lateral line scales. By analyzing these specimens and original descriptions, diagnostic characteristics of the genus Acanthorhodeus were included in the genus Acheilognathus and Acanthorhodeus gracilis was defined as a junior synonym of Acheilognathus chankaensis. The provisional keys are provided for identifying the nine species of Acheilognathus from Korea.

To verify the validity of Hemiculter eigenmanni (Jordan and Metz, 1913), we conducted morphological analysis on two syntypes of Hemiculter leucisculus (Basilewsky, 1855) and holotype of H. eigenmanni. Although some morphological differences were recognized between two nominal type specimens, it is concluded intraspecific or geographic variation through comparison with many specimens collected from Korea. Previously suggested synonymy between H. leucisculus and H. eigenmanni was reconfirmed, therefore the latter becomes a junior synonym of the former.

Genus Origo Omelko is synonymied as a junior synonym of Parastenolechia Kanazawa and the subspecies umbrosa Omelko as a junior synonym of argobathra Megrick. Laris superva Omelko and Telphusa clausterifera Meyrick are removed to the genus Parastenolechia. Among the 5 species redescribed in this article, 4 species are reported for the time from Korea.

The gudgeon, Microphysogobio tungtingensis uchidai, originally described by Banarescu and Nalbant in 1973 is reduced to a junior synonym of M. yaluensis based on the 5 type specimens in the USNM. Confusion on the taxonomic position of Microphysogovbio t. uchidai seems to have resulted from the inadequate description of the papillae of the upper lip and the reference to the small specimens.

HARP(High-performance Architecture for Risc-type Processor)는 한국전자통신연구소에서 개발하고 있는 고유 모델의 RISC형 32비트 CPU이다. HACAM은 HARP의 캐쉬 메모리 및 MMU를 1칩의 VLSI로 구현한 것으로서 virtual cache 구조를 갖는다. Virtual cache 시스팀에서는 synonym문제가 수반되는데, 이 문제는 multitasking을 하는 single CPU 시스팀에서도 발생하지만, multiprocessor 시스팀에서는 데이터 coherency 문제와 함께 해결하여야 되기 때문에 더욱 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 HACAM이 virtual cache 구조로 구현하게 된 배경 및 이의 타당성을 논하였고, 아울러 virtual cache 구조를 갖기 때문에 발생하는 synonym 문제를 설명하고, 이의 해결 방안을 제시하였다.
