  • In this paper, we analyze the problem with existing telematics contents service systems that have been provided telematics information on a special contents provider. Then, we suggest methods to solve the problems and propose the architecture of TELIC(Telematics Information Center) to implement our methods. We also verify the stability and the accuracy of the suggested architecture through a comparison with an existing service system. With our system, it is possible to develop telematics content application without additional developing the integration method of various contents.

  • Telematics, one of the so-called New Growth Engine of IT839, is a leading IT service where wireless internet service represented by information and mobility is extended to the area of transportation. To provide telematics service, Telematics service provider have to connect with various Contents Provider or Service Provide server - for example - LBSS(Location Based Service Server), ASPS(Application Service Provider Server), TELICS(TELematics Information Center Server), GMS(Geo-mobility Server), WTPS(World Telematics Protocol Server) and MAUS(Map Air Update Server). Presently, It is nearly impossible or very difficult for the company that are manufacturing and testing telematics device to develop and test telematics solution without connecting Telematics Service Provider, Service Provider, Contents Provider. And, it is very difficult to connect in TSP, CP, SP having the product to be developed. In this paper, we proposed virtual telematics service provider. The proposed Virtual Telematics Service Provider is to provide telematics services and functionalities by integrating telematics servers into TSP gateway virtually. In other words, VTSP is performs with the role of TSP, CP, SP. And the VTSP support integration of telematics servers, interfacing and monitoring between terminal and the integrated servers.

  • As the need for telematics contents services due to the frequent traveling of people is increasing, it is necessary to provide various telematics contents by connecting and integrating current telematics contents which are collected and provided by each individual data provider. However, it is difficult to integrate or exchange the current telematics contents, because the data providers use different telematics contents models. Therefore, we propose a 'telematics contents gateway(TCG); system, which enables to integrate different telematics contents, so that the contents can be interoperable. The TCG can be a solution for several problems in the current telematics contents providing system. First of all, it has been impossible to search the contents without any information about data providers, because of the absence of metadata in the current systems. For this problem, TCG supports a search function based on a web-service technology. Second, TCG provides a common road network model for interoperability, and the model can be a solution to integrate different road network models into the common model. Moreover, integration algorithm for enhancing the correctness of integration will be proposed. In addition, it is designed by multi threads and multi queue structure. The TCG developed with C# on a windows system has been running and we verified that there was no information loss in the integration process. In addition, the speed of content integration and transfer satisfied the requirement of telematics services providers.
