Travel Time Forecasting in an Interrupted Traffic Flow by adopting Historical Profile and Time-Space Data Fusion (히스토리컬 프로파일 구축과 시.공간 자료합성에 의한 단속류 통행시간 예측)

  • In Korea, the ITS project has been progressed to improve traffic mobility and safety. Further, it is to relieve traffic jam by supply real time travel information for drivers and to promote traffic convenience and safety. It is important that the traffic information is provided accurately. This study was conducted outlier elimination and missing data adjustment to improve accuracy of raw data. A method for raise reliability of travel time prediction information was presented. We developed Historical Profile model and adjustment formula to reflect quality of interrupted flow. We predicted travel time by developed Historical Profile model and adjustment formula and verified by comparison between developed model and existing model such as Neural Network model and Kalman Filter model. The results of comparative analysis clarified that developed model and Karlman Filter model similarity predicted in general situation but developed model was more accurate than other models in incident situation.

  • In the world, traffic accidents and environmental pollution caused by the increase of vehicles are becoming a serious social problem. According to the 2016 data published by the Korea Highway Traffic Authority, Korea owns 49.9 vehicles per 100 people. This is the 28th largest number among the 35 OECD member countries. In addition, the number of deaths from traffic accidents in Korea totaled 4,292, of which 1,714 were caused by traffic accidents involving vehicles and pedestrians. To reduce these human casualties, the automotive industry is constantly working on the development and commercialization of Adaptive Driver Assist System (ADAS). ADAS is the system providing convenience and safeness for drivers. In general, ADAS consists of Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Highway Driving Assist (HDA), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS). Among them, the AEB detects the possibility of collision by the vehicle itself and plays a role of avoiding the collision or reducing the damage through active braking. For such AEB, Euro NCAP has been developing test-evaluation methods for the vulnerable since 2017. Therefore, In this paper analyzes the scenario of Euro NCAP VRU Test Protocol v3.0.1, which will be established in 2020, and proposes test conditions according to the Korean road traffic law. In addition, the reliability of the proposed scenario and test conditions was verified by comparing and analyzing the proposed theoretical evaluation formulas and actual test results.

  • More people prefer using rail traffic for travel or for commuting owing to its convenience and flexibility. The railway scenario has become an important communication scenario in the fifth generation era. The communication system should be designed to support high-data-rate demands with seamless connectivity at a high mobility. In this paper, the channel characteristics are studied and modeled for the railway tunnel scenario with straight and curved route shapes. On the basis of measurements using the "Mobile Hotspot Network" system, a three-dimensional ray tracer (RT) is calibrated and validated for the target scenarios. More channel characteristics are explored via RT simulations at 25.25 GHz with a 500-MHz bandwidth. The key channel parameters are extracted, provided, and incorporated into a 3rd-Generation-Partnership-Project-like stochastic channel generator. The necessary channel information can be practically realized, which can support the link-level and system-level design of the communication system in similar scenarios.

  • Traffic Safety and efficient Road Traffic Policy of Traffic management came into effect over the certain size of the road like main road. Comparatively, Safety for Living street is deteriorated. Especially, Vehicle are usually priority to the life-zone street, even though Safety for the Passengers are essential to the life-zone street in the residential area. Improvement for the Living street has not been achieved In this study, To suggest Intersection Notifications standard of installation in Living Street, We execute on-site survey in priority to Gwangju Metropolitan City. Furthermore, After We suggest experimental value for the Intersection Notifications' standard of installation Prediction model in the Living street, Intersection Notifications compare & veritfy experimental value to the installation point's value to suggest the standard of installation in the living street. As a result, We can prevent frequent traffic accident in the Living Street. Furthermore, We are judged by installation of intersection Notifications considering stability and convenience to the passengers who are using the living street.

  • This research aims to analyze the importance-performance among multiplex cinema selection attributes. Therefore, we collected data for visitors who visited the multiplex cinema and want to watch movies. Of the various multiplex cinema selection attributes, four factors were deduced that includes: major services, human services, physical environment, auxiliary services using exploratory factor analysis. In the quadrant I, the area of 'Concentrate Here' was 'diversity of screening time', 'diversity of movie genre', 'convenience of mobile app use', 'size and convenience of parking facility'. In the quadrant II, 'Keep up the Good Work' area was 'convenience of website booking', 'discounts through card partnerships', 'employee friendliness', 'accurate employee information delivery', 'comfortable seating', 'screen size', 'cinematic sound quality', and 'convenience of traffic' etc. The quadrant III, 'Low Priority' appeared to be 'membership system', 'tidiness of staff attire', 'resting space for waiting time', 'accessibility to the neighboring area', 'diversity of the snack corner', and 'overall cleanliness' etc. The quadrant IV, 'Possible Overkill' was 'appropriateness of the auditorium temperature' and 'service proficiency'.

A Driving Information Centric Information Processing Technology Development Based on Image Processing (영상처리 기반의 운전자 중심 정보처리 기술 개발)

  • Today, the core technology of an automobile is becoming to IT-based convergence system technology. To cope with many kinds of situations and provide the convenience for drivers, various IT technologies are being integrated into automobile system. In this paper, we propose an convergence system, which is called Augmented Driving System (ADS), to provide high safety and convenience of drivers based on image information processing. From imaging sensor, the image data is acquisited and processed to give distance from the front car, lane, and traffic sign panel by the proposed methods. Also, a converged interface technology with camera for gesture recognition and microphone for speech recognition is provided. Based on this kind of system technology, car accident will be decreased although drivers could not recognize the dangerous situations, since the system can recognize situation or user context to give attention to the front view. Through the experiments, the proposed methods achieved over 90% of recognition in terms of traffic sign detection, lane detection, and distance measure from the front car.

A Study on Improvement of Call Admission Control using Wireless Access Point Sharing (무선 AP 공유를 통한 호 제어 방안 연구)

  • Recently, as artificial intelligence technology becomes popular, demand for wireless traffic is rapidly increasing. In order to provide services in response to the increase in demand for wireless traffic, telecommunication companies are generalizing the installation of public APs. In order to provide convenience of using wireless APs between communication companies, it is necessary to share the use of APs in public places to efficiently use wireless resources in a public place, to pre-authenticate between wireless APs in a mobile communication service, So as to increase the convenience of the user. In this paper, we propose to share APs in public places through handoff between APs and pre-authentication between carriers in mobile communication services. The simulation results show that the handoff latency is improved by 35.1% and the bandwidth used by the AP selected by the pre-authentication method can utilize more bandwidth than the method of automatically selecting the AP.

A study on the factors related to the choice of dental clinics for worker in Seoul (서울시내 일부 근로자들의 치과 선택요인에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of company employees. The importance of the selection factors of dental clinics by demographic characteristics. Methods : The subjects of this study was 218 employees. In this study, structured were used. Results : As for perception of the importance of traffic convenience by general characteristics, the company employees who were male, who were married, who had children, who continued to work for a longer period and who were better paid placed more significance on traffic convenience among the selection factors of dental institutions, and the gaps between them and their counterparts were significant. Regarding perception of the importance of the physical environments of dental institutions by general characteristics, those who were in their 20s and in their 50s and up, who were less educated, who worked for a smaller period and who were less paid gave more weight on the importance of physical environments, and the gaps between them and their counterparts were significant. As to perception of the importance of the image of dental institutions by general characteristics, monthly pay made a significant difference to that. Concerning the external qualifications of dental personnels, they took a significantly different view according to their age and monthly pay. In relation to perception of the importance of dental service by general characteristics, the women attached more importance to dental service than the men, and the intergroup gap was significant. In regard to perception of the importance of the basic components of dental institutions by general characteristics, those who were in their 40s and up, who had children, who were better paid and who were assistant directors were significantly different from their counterparts in their opinions on the importance of the basic components of dental institutions. Conclusions : The findings of the study suggest that dental institutions should make efforts to provide patients with the best medical service to gain their confidence.

Mobility and Safety Evaluation Methodology for the Locations of Hi-PASS Lanes Using a Microscopic Traffic Simulation Tool (미시교통시뮬레이션모형을 이용한 하이패스 차로 위치별 이동성 및 안전성 평가방법 연구)

  • The number of Hi-Pass lanes became 793 lanes at 316 expressway tollgates in 2011 due to the increase in the Hi-Pass use. In spite of the increase in the number of Hi-Pass lanes, there have been increased potential risks in tollgates where vehicles using a Hi-Pass lane must weave with other vehicles using a TCS lane. Therefore, there is a need for study on the safety in tollgates. To this end, this study aims at developing a methodology to evaluate the performance measures of diverse location countermeasures of Hi-Pass lanes in an efficient and systematic way. This study measured the mobility, safety and the convenience of installation and operation of Hi-Pass lanes using a microscopic traffic simulation tool, the surrogate safety assessment model and survey. In addition, this study aggregated the above three performance indexes using weight factors estimated using the AHP technique. For the test site, Dongsuwon interchange was selected. After building the microscopic traffic simulation model for the test site, the location countermeasures of Hi-Pass lanes applicable to the test site were compared with each other in terms of the mobility, safety and installing and operating convenience. As a result, there has been no apparent difference in mobility index based on delays. However, the countermeasures where Hi-Pass lanes are located in inside lanes generally showed better safety performance based on the number of conflicts. In addition, countermeasures with neighboring Hi-Pass lanes were favorable in terms of the safety and the convenience of installation and operation. The methodology proposed in this study was found to be useful to support decision makings by providing critical and quantitative information regarding the mobility, safety and the convenience of installation and operation.

Factor Analysis for Transit Transfer using Public Traffic Card Data (대중교통카드를 이용한 환승요인분석)

  • While transit is inconvenient, it is also inevitable for the efficient public transportation. Reducing the number of transfers as much as possible is most important in providing the convenience of public transportation and facilitating the public transportation. As for the public transportation card data, 61,986 items on weekdays and 69,100 items on weekends were collected. Pattern analysis and traffic influence factors were analyzed using traffic data card. Trip chain results revealed that people have more transit transfers for shopping and leasure than commuting purposes on weekends and that commuting distance and time increase by 10 km and 9.9 minutes, respectively. Besides, results of the structural equation model showed that factor 1(total travel time, total travel distance), factor 2(number of people getting on and off), factor 3(transit time), and factor 4(number of bus connections, number of operations) were found to have significant effects on the number of transfers.
